- In today's episode, we'll tell you the story about how we went from skipping activities in Switzerland because they were outside of our budget to somehow flying with a stranger in a TINY airplane...FOR FREE!

When we made it to Interlaken in the Jungfrau Region of Switzerland, we never would have imagined what was going to happen next. The thing that happened inspired us to change a huge aspect of our approach to life.

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to drop out of university and live life full-time. We have been traveling the world for the past five years together (including our time before and in college). We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30! By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)

We began our Switzerland trip in Zürich and then went on to visit Sargans, Liechtenstein, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Interlaken, Thun, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, Bern, Lucerne, and more. We had an amazing time in Switzerland and hope you'll enjoy watching our adventures from there!

I am living in Switzerland now for 14 years, the people that I have come in contact with here are very generous. Just don't break their trust, because that plays a very important role in the culture here. I feel so blessed to breath the fresh Swiss air every day.

15:10 The guy talking in the background is telling a funny story about someone who once absolutely wanted to see the Matterhorn, but due to bad weather conditions you couldn't see it and so the pilot flew by a similar mountain and told him that's the Matterhorn... 😂

I am a Swiss private pilot, having flown for over 40 years over and through the Alps, I NEVER tire of it, it is so breathtaking! So, I can imagine what it was for you experiencing that for the first time! So very glad you enjoyed my country.
Next time, try getting on a ski-plane ride, that will LAND you on one of those glaciers you saw. It is the next level up!
This was such a crazy series of events... Our most memorable travel day in 2021 so far!

Amazing how kind people can be. I have found the Swiss to be very nice! Beautiful flight. I would suggest you put a flight around Denali in Alaska on your list…with the glacier landing! That was epic!

What I love about your videos is about the luggage part. It's hard to find travel bloggers showing how they dealt with luggage. Atleast to me, luggage is a problem. Cuz i wanna hop around freely yet wanna pack tons of stuff as well ><

Glad you guys took advantage of this opportunity. Seeing the topography from a lower altitude than 30 - 40K feet, is quite different. There is so much more to see. Glad that Dan got some stick time. Nice Cessna 182…if you pass by Geneva let me know I’ll do the same with a C-172 for you to see the other side of the alpes around the Mt-Blanc and parts of the French alpes…anyway you have been lucky but it doesn’t come unless you have a positive spirit as it will mainly get you to meet equivalent to what you are giving.

@@OskarandDan :Respect, your German is excellent. An Austrian or German cannot understand correct Swiss German either. The dialect is too special.
@@Pucky71 Als chlises Biispil vu mim Zürcher Dialekt, also was meh wüsse muen, Schwiizerdüütsch isch nöd eh gschriebni Sprach, vu dem her gseht sie bi jedem anderst us, meh seit eh, wenn öppis komisch us gseht wo chli düütsch isch und so lang es de ander Schwiizer verstaht, isches Schwiizerdüütsch. :D
Als kleines Beispiel von meinem Zürcher Dialekt, also was man wissen muss, Schweizerdeutsch ist sowieso nicht eine geschriebenen Sprache, deswegen sieht die Sprache bei jedem anderst aus, man sagt sowieso, wenn etwas komisch aussieht aber ein bisschen Deutsch ist und solange es ein Schweizer versteht, ist es Schweizerdeutsch.
@@provo1337 ich höre Dialekt sehr gerne. Als niederrheiner hört sich mein Dialekt wie niederländisch an. Hochdeutsch mit Dialekt eingefärbt, verstehe ich sehr gut.

Your so lucky to see Switzerland from above 🛩. One of my favorite place, where i learned skiing. Bettmeralp next to the Aletschgletscher👍

Happy that you could see the alps from above and skipped the way too expensive Jungfraujoch train... It's not worth it. As a local I recommend rather visiting the Lauterbrunnen waterfall and then take the bus to the cable car of Isenfluh (with sledging route in the winter). On the above plateau you can either take a walk or take the train to Grütschalp with a scenic horizontal view on the Jungfrau mountain.
A beautiful and affordable stay in Interlaken with fantastic dinner is Hotel Interlaken. Hotel Krebs has good fondues during cold times...
If you are Sherlock Holmes fan you should make an excursion to the Reichenbach falls in Meiringen (has a Sherlock Holmes museum as well).

I'm Swiss, but living in Panamá. However, I also spend about 4 or 5 months in Switzerland every year. So, just in case: if your next stay in Switzerland should match with one of my stays, I would be glad to offer to take you to a 'Stobete' in Appenzell ... at a place where traditional folk music is played and usually only locals can be found.

Hallo Florian, danke für die Frage. Als junger Pilot kommen da noch viele Chancen, um Paxe happy zu machen, no worries. Die zwei Jungs habe ich auch nur per Zufall und Insta lokalisieren können, als ein Transitbild von Spiez in ihrem Kanal auftauchte. Auf Insta angeschrieben und dann hat das ganze äusserst spontan und auf Anhieb geklappt. A truly „one time opportunity“ halt. Happy Flying!

BTW if you're prone to getting motion sickness, Jungfraujoch may be tricky for you. As you've researched, it's almost 3,500 meters, and let me tell you, the air is getting thin, and you may feel dizzy and nauseous. Happened to me the 3 times I went up there. Not a great return on investment if you can't wait to get down to kleine Scheidegg where you feel normal again.

What a great video with spectacular views. I was given a flying lesson for my 40th birthday and for the last five minutes of the flight all I could hear in the headphones was my wife testing the water tightness of the sick bag.
