Our Week In Bangkok With No Tourists
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 сер 2024
- In today's episode, we finally bring you along to one of our favorite cities in the world: Bangkok! Before 2020, we used to come to Bangkok all the time and, just like for many digital nomads and full-time travelers, it was a big hub for us to spend time resting and enjoying life between trips. We were SO excited to be back but also knew we weren't going to find the city in the same shape we'd left it... But just how different it would be was a mystery.

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30 with an initial goal of 100 before the end of 2022. By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Thailand was country #23/197🌍 - (first visited in 2017)
We started our trip in Phuket and then moved on up to Bangkok for over a week. From there, we went to the north of Thailand to Chiang Rai, a province we'd never been to before, although we'd been to the neighboring Chiang Mai.
Thank you for watching!🙏😍

If you're new here, we're Oskar & Dan, two Swedish boys of 24 who are trying to see as much of the world as possible🌍 Out of the 82 countries we've visited so far, Thailand is one of our favorites, so we were beyond excited to go back for the first time since the world shut down two years ago. Hope you enjoy the video!❤️
👍✨💫👐🏝☀️
I want to yo go to moca museum Bangkok
I'm Thai 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
So helpful just arrived 3 day ago and your video is a game saver for real ! Could you share the laundry place address ?
Actually, you can go to the Grand Palace. With the MRT blue line subway, you can take a ride at MRT Sukhumvit Station in front of Terminal 21 Mall to MRT Sanam Chai Station. and walk a little to Wat Pho temple and Grand Palace.
You can now take the subway (blue line) to the Grand Palace very easily. And the station there is amazingly unique! The subway line also stopped at China town as well. :)
There's a subway now to chinatown and golden palace!? Amazing!!
@@jesdecruz8383 yep the status has unique decoration.
yep very easily.
You should absolutely accept sponsors! Make that Buck boys! You work hard on these videos! There is nothing wrong with being compensated for your awesome work!
After 100k😉 Thanks Eric❤️
I thought most foreigners don’t like our traditional desserts but glad you enjoyed it and welcome back to Bangkok!
We looove so many of them! Apart from Mango Sticky Rice, we love Khanom Tom, Khao Tom Mad, coconut jelly and tons of others!
@@OskarandDan Here are some of my girlfriend’s favorites for you to try if you haven’t yet!
Khanom Tuay (ขนมถ้วย) - Coconut pudding
Khanom Inthanin (ขนมอินทนิล) - Cooked tapioca flour with pandan extract in coconut milk and crushed ice
Khao Niew Piak Lamyai (ข้าวเหนียวเปียกลำไย) - Rice pudding with longans
Fakthong Kaeng Buat (ฟักทองแกงบวช) - Pumpkin in coconut cream
Bualoy (บัวลอย) - Rice flour rolled into small balls and then cooked in coconut milk
Khanom Inthanin is hard to find though but others on the list are all over Thailand.
It really goes to show how Thai people, including me, undervalue our country's food and culture. Sometimes, it takes Oskar and Dan to see what's good under tourist eyes I guess. Thank you for visiting my country and loving it. You made me happy to explore Thailand again.
Thailand, Thai food, and Thai people are all amazing!!
I am so happy you were able to visit some sites that aren’t currently overrun with tourists. The palace tour was especially nice. You were able to show a lot of detail that you would not be able to see with a lot people creating distractions. The hotel and the pool are lovely. And the mall with the themed shopping floors and glorious food court connected to the hotel can’t be beat. I hope to soon make it to Thailand but in the meantime I was able to enjoy it through your eyes. Stay well 👍🏻😎🙏
Greetings from Scotland. This is the first video I have watched on your joint channel. Your filming at the Grand Palace is amazing and made me want to return to Bangkok as soon as possible. Keep up the good work and make us all jealous.
OMG, guys... so great to revisit my favorite place on Earth through your eyes. I can't believe how empty the Grand Palace was.. although the atmosphere is awesome even when it's packed with people and amazing rituals... great memories you brought me back. I want to fly right now to BKK..
You guys are goals! In every way!! 🍀I love your travels together, the music you pick, and the fun you have!💛 Fantastic!🎶🌸🙏
Congratulations! I have been living in Bangkok for the past 21 years and in your 23 minute video you have brilliantly captured many of the reasons why I live here. What made your video so memorable was a great combination videography, editing and continuously entertaining narratives. Please do full due diligence of any potential corporate entities. If you get this wrong you will alienate your subscribers.
You can certainly see Dan's enthusiasm in this wonderful episode ! He's very jokey, even flirty with Oskar (which should be a law, btw....worship is required in the bf contract!) and even a little bit romantic. These two would be SO much fun to travel with ! Well done, as always, boys ! Well done, indeed.
This is such an inspirational travel proposal to discover new areas of the world (and ourselves).!!!🥰😍
I've always enjoyed watching Dan and his flight reviews. I didn't know that you guys had a channel together. Looking forward to catching up on previous vlogs.
My sudden surge of homesickness led me to this channel. You guys are so fun and energetic. I really missed my homecountry. So, thank you for the cure look forward to your next video!
I'm Thai and I'm your new subscriber. Your video is so awesome. I love the quality of the videos and the editing. And both of you are so charming. Welcome back to Thailand. And I'm so sorry about the scam. It's something I hate so much about my country. It happened to many of my foreign friends when they came to Thailand. But it seems it never got solved. So the best way is to spread awareness and be cautious by yourselves like this. I'm glad you enjoyed so many things here. Keep having fun guys. Cheers!
🙏❤️ Thank you for subscribing!
I love you guys and always look forward to your videos!! Thailand is on my bucket list!!

Great vids guys! I'll be heading to Phuket on the 28th, so I've been checking out a bunch of vids, and love following along your travels. Hopefully you can help me out here, I just looked on Agoda for pricing @ the Sheraton, and it's around $116 CDN for a basic room. Wondering what site you guys booked on, and how you got that -$20 credit? Looking forward to the next vid!
Can’t wait to c next vdo😊

Welcome back to Thailand. You guys travel so professional :-)
I always enjoy your travel clip through all Western countries, now in my country and I feel like I went to travel with you while I living here for 30 years lol. Thank you for fabulous video and hope Bangkok give you chill :)
Thank you so much!🙏
Wow guys, I just congratulated you on 50,000 subs and now you’ve got 64,000 subs. You’re going to get to 100k really soon!
I’ve never met a Thai food that I didn’t like! You made me so hungry showing me all that great food. Which do you prefer though, Phuket or Bangkok?
Thanks Diane!❤️ Hmm, if we were to live somewhere we’d choose Phuket, BKK is just too big of a city, but we’d still have to go to BKK at least once a month to enjoy some city life too😉
I'm so jealous! I love Thailand and unfortunately this time I decided against beautiful Thailand. Have a nice time and next time visit the Lebua State Hotel! Is beautiful and one of the tallest buildings in Bangkok. The film Hangover was shot there…😍🏳️🌈
Tua² pun gatal 😒
Shoot I should've gone here to save money during this time. Great video as always, you guys living the life 💕🙏🏽❤🙌🏽🙌🏽
Khop khun krap 🙏 guys for the nice video 😎
I've been traveling to beautiful Thailand since 2013 nearly every year. Have seen several beautiful places there. The most annoying thing was always the overcrowded of the sights and places everywhere and anytime. So you never had the chance for enjoying the beauty of the moment.
Soon I come back to my beloved country Thailand, were I have some good friends 💕 that I long time not see.
Love you! Once again 😜
I love Thailand. I had a fantastic time there. There's a place many people dont go, but its just beautiful : Jim Thompson House. right in Bangkok. And Ko Phi Phi Don Its a special place.
Lovely that you guys have a great time there that is all what meter.
Glad to hear ( although surprized) that you've only recently discovered eggplant. It's 'meaty' and so versatile, which makes it great for us vegetarians: Chinese style, Indian style, Italian etc etc.
We didn’t use to like it, it’s only now started growing on us!😄
Amazing to watch you yet again...❣️
Amazing to see you watching!❤️
@@OskarandDan 😄😃
Thank you for sharing this BKK trip, brings back wonderful memories...missing BKK ... stay safe always. new subscriber here from Sydney
Thanks a lot!🙌
Walking travels tour wonderful thank you for sharing
Like and SUBSCRIBED :) luv the way how presented :) thanks
This channel is so underrated
the food court in the basement of the bangkok airport was amazing (I don't know if the bubble tea place was separate, it's been a while!) - so sad if it's closed due to covid. understandable, but a great loss to travelers and even more so to locals.
Yes🥺
TERMINAL 21! hell yeah!
👏
💓 The Grand Palace is very beautiful.
Funny i love ur vision and your style of course i subcribe already
Love you guys,hi from Barbados
So glad to finally see you back in BKK! Come around Silom and let's get some drinks ;-)
Next time we’re in BKK🙌 Follow on Insta to see where we are in more real time👏
Love From thailand ,hope you enjoy this trips.
you guys make me wanna jump out of my bed and explore my neighborhood all again hahahaaaa. welcome to Thailand :)
Kop Khun Krab!!❤️
Was in Thailand for a month and it is not entirely "dead" per se. Phuket was indeed a far cry from its glorious day but that's also because the locals are shunning it due to the cost over there (taxi price is ridiculous). Spent a week in the North and tourism was significantly lesser than in BKK. Bangkok was great, almost 70-80% back and most (not all) shops are already back in business and the famous malls around Siam are already crowded. But the lesser than usual crowd was great if you've always wanted to explore certain part of the popular places. Nothing really changed in this 2 years and in fact i felt things got better than my last visit in 2020. Hopefully COVID goes away soon and may the glory of this beautiful city be restored!
Have a nice day in Bkk 🤗😊👍🌞
As you can see under construction there is an underground corridor with restaurants and tourist restrooms.
Love the food court at Terminal 21 especially the vegetarian one!
Yes it's amazing!
I have eaten at the Terminal 21 vegan food stall so many times I can't count them! Thank you for sharing this experience, as I don't know when I'll be back to the land of smiles. So looking forward to MBK. The best vegan food in BKK, IHMO!!
That’s awesome Brent!! T21 is amazing, haven’t eaten at MBK (guess you’re talking about the discount mall?). Hope you get to return to the Land of Smiles very soon🙏
@@OskarandDan yes, the food court on 5F. Not the international one. You buy the card and use that instead of cash. The Thai Buddhist place is so good! Yes, looking to return hopefully sooner than later! Have a great time!
Welcome back to Thailand.❤️
I miss the mango sticky rice so badly! Have one for me please! Enjoy guys love your videos so much.
We’ll gladly have one mango sticky rice for each subscriber😂😍
I hope travel resumes fully soon. Too many people depend on tourist dollars to live. . I love Thailand . Nice video guys.
Indeed! Thanks🙏
nice video guys cheers
Great video guys, and the images are so top quality, what camera are you using? I hope to go in march, fingers crossed things loosen up.
We just use our iPhones 13 Pro Max!🦎
Thanks for video very nice
Bangkok is similar to Paris in that there is so much ornate detail everywhere that it almost feels pointless to take pictures. Everywhere you look is a picture.
that was good 👍 love
8:45 As a guy you're supposed to say krap at the end of a sentence not Ka haha but it's not that important! Keep up the videos, I'm a new subscriber but I always love your travel videos!
I just saw your UA-cam first time and I just saw you two’s name Oskar & Dan made me think seems like Swedish, and then I find out by read your details and I am right cuz my hubby has also a name Dan on his name and my son has the name Oskar on one of his name as well.
Sawasdee welcome to Thailand 🙏❤️🇹🇭
น้ำตาไหล คิดถึงบ้าน
‘The smell of Asian citites, pollution’, LMAO, Dan spilling the T. 🤣
We love it though😂
Thailand is the paradise and the second home for all visitor !!!
Welcome to Bangkok..my city♡♡
Miss Thailand especially Bangkok where I did my internship in around 2019 😭
We totally get you😭💔
Best food court in BKK is at Emquartier.... dope vid though.. you capture that BKK vibe...
Can’t wait to apply for Thailand pass and go back there! Can you make a list or maybe just give me the name of the food court stall where you got your food? Khob khun kaa 💚🌱
It’s the vegetarian stall at Terminal 21 mall food court!
Is it true that if you are a tourist and you leave Phuket you should have a PCR every three days? For example in Bangkok.
I am from thailand and I subscribe your chanal now!! 😁😁😁😁
Yes it’s thailand. Welcome!
I miss and love Thailand. Kapunkap 🙏🏻😊
The Temple in the Grand Palace was actually built up about 240 year ago, the gold parts was imitate the real GOLD used to built the palace and temple in Ayutthaya period after all was destroyed and burn down to get all the gold by Burmeses.
*Lol I dont think Terminal 21 is the best mall and food court, but glad you liked it there*
11.06. Known as onde-onde Malacca in Malaysia. In Indonesia, it is called Kue Klepon. It is believed that Queen of Malacca offered it to sea dragon as substitute to the latter’s demand to drain out her beauty. She made it chewy so that the sea dragon would take longer time to finish the onde-onde and forget the demand. Merely a folktale.
The one he ate after onde onde is called lepat pisang. Lepat means “fold” and pisang is banana. Made from flour, coconut milk and banana, lepat pisang is normally cooked using steam cooker up to 2 hours. Easy to prepare, provided u have abundant banana leaves.
I hope to bump into you guys if you're still in Bangkok, I'm still here for at least another 2 weeks, possibly until late February.
We were there in December! ENJOY!
Omg the place is empty. It’s surreal. I really enjoyed this trip with you, now I need to go to a Thai restaurant.
It was crazy😱
Have you visited Ong Ang Canal? New forest parks in BKK?
Bangkok seems to have the best shopping malls! Mostly because of the food lol
They’re amazing🥲
the food court at terminal 21 have a delicious foods and very cheap i like it
So true!
Home sweet home 🥰🥺
