European with their tall stature, african with their speed, american with their elasticity, asian with their agility and oceanian with their bulky body. Dang its gonna be fun to watch.

That being said, whenever there was an Asean games, we would glue to the tv for both sepak tawraw and badminton. We would just be quietly watching with anticipation.

8:00 _ That was how the game was initially played hundred of years ago. It was called Sepak (kick) Raga (woven basket or ball). Subsequently Thailand and Malaysia joined together to create a new competitive sport form. They decided on using badminton as the base (court dimension, net & points) platform for a modern kind of sepak raga. The new name for the sport combined both Malay & Thai language, Sepak Takraw (same meaning as raga in Thai language).
Interesting that you played both badminton & sepak takraw in this video.

True, no matter where in the world you're at, the takraw players are the most receptive towards newbie players. Probably because they know how hard and frustrating it was to start from nothing and gradually get better. Definitely a friendly community that fosters towards the embetterment of lots of begginers. I miss playing it.

Not bad mate, you can introduce sepak takraw in Canada. The ball originally made from rattan but nowadays it's made of plastic. There are two ways to play, one is sepaktakraw the other is sepak raga keliling. sepak takraw is when you play in court like you play the first in the video. Sepak raga keliling is the one you play later in the video. Love that you enjoy the game. Well done mate
