  • We tag the Isuzu NPR and immediately put it to work! This truck is going to come in extremely handy in hauling all our projects and parts with half the work of dragging a trailer around!

    I bought a 1999 Isuzu NPR diesel thru a dealer from Arizona State University. The dealer drove it back here to Las Cruces, NM. The original miles it had when I bought it was 46K miles. It’s a 12 ft. flat bed, boxes, racks, small 3200 lb 16 ft crane. Has all my tools and my miller big blue 300 on it. Runs so smooth.

    I bought a 2005 today and drove it from Florida back to Virginia. I pushed it to the limit at 80mph and she handled like a champ!

    excellent truck, great turning angle, very easy to handle thanks to the automatic transmission I have a 2005 NPR 5.2 diesel, I love going down a mountain with the exhaust brake

    I’m looking at one of these for a tiny portable home right now. I’m almost 22, I spent the last year in my first apartment, I learned some things. I know if I can get my license (behind on that, got a permit) and really put my mind to saving money I know I can do this. My credit is great but I made bad financial decisions, lol. It’s okay I learned everything I need to learn. Also, it would be so cool. Pop the back door open for a nice view anywhere. Put solar panels on the roof when I’m parked until I own the vehicle. Then I’ll be allowed to do modifications and installations. Forget the trailer or buying actual camper vans for now. I looked at some of those bro. Seen houses that cost less than that. I’m excited for this though:) What’s important though is to tie or bolt everything down and also Velcro is your friend. Please pray for me. I’ve never wanted to do something so much in my entire life and I finally feel alive again pushing for this.

    I remembered helping my dad's friend with finding an Isuzu NPR box truck that was a gas, that was an 18 foot or more, and that was at least a 2015 or newer or somewhere close to that year range and to be honest, it was NOT that easy because there weren't many trucks that were pretty much what he was looking for and it took me 3 months and this month, he already got some trucks that he was looking for.

    Mpg in the auto diesel should be 15-20 according to some of the overlanding folks.
    I’m currently looking at one and upgrading the brakes and axels

    Hi. I bought one of the NPRs (2003 NPR HD) to set up with a utility body for a handyman business. I'm just wondering if you still have the NPR and what you think of it, any problems. Thanks.

    I just got my '97 on the road. I wasn't expecting a speed demon but 55mph on level ground is about all shell do. I'm worried once I put a heavy load on it it won't maintain highway speed. How has your experience been so far with yours? I have the diesel version like you

    • @slow_restoration
      @slow_restoration  2 роки тому +2

      It will definitely go over 55, loaded or unloaded it's about the same. You do however hold it to the floor until you hit your speed! Might want to check the air and fuel filters to make sure they're good.

      @wll1500 2 роки тому

      @@slow_restoration yah I got it up to 63 on the highway the other day but that was stretching it lol
      Cold starts are pretty tough on mine too. I'll try a new set of glow plugs and see if that fixes it.
      One thing I will say... Mine has a 12 foot box instead of a 16 and it's one of the most maneuverable vehicles I have ever driven! The turning radius is incredible

      My daily was a 97 that the company I worked for provided to me and I was aloud to use it off the clock as long as I paid for my own diesel and every other maintenance it went through, it was decent empty but an absolute hog when I put anything in the back I was appliance installer and it was a 14 footer so if I was to put 10 to 12 appliances in the back my parts plus my tool boxes and ice chest I could be crusin and then if a hill came up the 55 mph I was going dropped to like 41mph maxed out. 🤣 And 55 mph was the fastest it ever went on the free way 😆 like I said ..... Absolute HOG but so freaking reliable it's sad the new carb compliant laws in Cali made it obsolete my company ran it since 97 when it was brand new and it was put out of service by the state of California in 2019

I downsized to npr because is came up near by and the 4 cylinder 5.2 has 215 hp.i like the truck and the gearing is great to make up for the smaller engine. BUT!
