The lyrics were written by my mom's best friend, Eduardo del Barrio. They were both from Argentina, and Eddie was in the band Caldera, a seminal fusion band of the 70's. Sadly, he died of cancer last year. He was a sweet soul, very cheerful and a great, kind soul.
They were the most elegant funk band, ever. They had everything, including string arrangements by a young, fresh from Canada, David Foster (check him). I saw them for this tour in '78 at Madison Square Garden. I'll never forget it...They came out of 3 pyramids who's sides came down.
Sweet! Earth, Wind & Fire are great. "Fantasy" might be my favorite song of theirs. Those of us who grew up in the seventies were spoiled for good music. Philip Bailey's voice is an instrument. The arias during the fade out are something else.
There has never been a group like them. So excellent in so many ways. It was so amazing growing up during this time.....the "good old days" were truly golden.
There is a band from Moscow who covers this song. You cannot tell the difference between the two. Leonid and Friends. They also cover Chicago covers too spot on.
EWF fans who have never heard Leonid and Friends cover this, MUST see it to believe it. Nothing more to say. Edit: I just went back to watch L&Fs cover of Written in the Stone. It's an even more incredible cover. It's so tight, it's almost not possible.
if you were Amazed by listening to them on headphones, imagine a concert. It was like someone energized them all with electricity. Hard to describe and every song they sang was about self-examination and evolution into better human beings. 🔥💕
I'm a 62 yr old white man that grew up on classic rock, but also grew up with EWF, Ohio Players, Parliament, etc some of the greatest music ever right here!!!
THANK YOU!!! Nobody gives this song the credit it deserves ... the lyrics, the music/arrangement, and those vocals....just W O W ! The music of my youth :) I find it strange no other reactors do this one. FYI, there is a live version of this that blows my mind. Thanks guys!
Thank for the love! EWF is one of the best bands ever (all genres included). We wish they get more likes on the channel! We do the channel to grow our musical taste and hoping we get others to do the same!
I’m 42 raised on this music- thankful to my parents for introducing me go music of such beautiful lyrical, instrumental and harmonious talent. Music I’ve shared with MY own children. Beautiful music always surpasses the test of time.
I still want to try to sing like Phillip Bailey. Back when I was a kid and listened to them, I could hit most of those notes. Gonna check out y'alls "Easy Lover" reaction next.
Just turned 70 and feeling old. My first EWF album was That’s The Way of the World. I love this band ! Kool & The Gang is another great band. It brings me back to my 1st enlistment in the Air Force.
They are my all time favorite band. My favorites are Imagination, In The Stone, Can't Hide Love, I Can't Let Go. When Maurice White passed I had an EWF binge day. I played them all day and never repeated a song. They're the best!
I remember back in school , in music class, this song, was taken as an example for being so layered! With all the different instruments.. Great song!! 🎶💜
I love EW&F. My favorites are "Shining Star", "Reasons", and "Let's Groove Tonight". In case you weren't aware, we lost a great R&B singer named Frankie Beverly yesterday. He was the lead singer for a group called Maze. Their biggest hits are "Joy and Pain", "Happy Feelings", "We Are One", and the one that gets played at cookouts everywhere, "Before I Let Go". RIP Frankie Beverly.
EW&F were always a classy soul band. Much loved in the UK. Saw them in ‘79 in London and it was a very hot ticket,Maurice White said he was very pleasantly surprised at the reception they got in the UK and that the audiences were wild and knew every song. We love soul music in the UK,always have, always will.
EARTH WIND AND FIRE - "" Can't Hide Love (Very Rare Extended 7:19) "" R&B/SOUL guys this Extended Version is 7 min & 19 sec. Of Absolute Soul Groove , the intro sound is so COOL also I highly recommend THE ISLEY BROTHERS - "" Voyage To Atlantis "" R&B/SOUL 1970s SUPER CLASSIC JAMS 🎸🎹 🎺 🔥 HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH Groups and Songs
I was in high school in the late 70s and EW&F were everywhere. Along with Boston and Journey and they were the soundtrack of my teenage years. ❤ Reasons was a slow dance staple.
So great, thanks for playing it all the way through. Check out some of their early hits, from 1973-74: "Evil" and "Mighty Mighty," seriously solid and funky, and Mr. Bailey goes into the stratosphere on MM.
"Fantasy" was a hit off EW&F great album "All in All"... Another great song off of that album you should review is "Serpentine Fire".. It's amazing also‼️
I always think of this song to represent human kind to other worlds in the universe and then I found this: Fantasy" was produced by Maurice White, who also composed the song with Eddie Del Barrio and Verdine White.[1] The song took three months to compose, and was only finally finished after Maurice White saw and was inspired by the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
From the early seventies, EW&F produced platinum after platinum after multi-platinum record into the early eighties. You couldn't drive around in the seventies without EW&F coming on the radio again and again. They were monster.
Fantasy is the song that would come on the car radio when me and my rocker friends were cruising around San Diego in the 70s and we would crank it up, smoke a fattie and let the flawless jam just transport us. And naturally we all sang along!!!😊😊😊
Anything written at performed by the elements Or earth wind and fire Either way it's gonna be classics. My all time favorite song Is reasons by them And the next 1 is lover's holiday
Maurice White was such a great talent. It's too bad he took ill at such a young age. Earth Wind and Fire lives on, but Maurice White was always the talent behind the band.
You can't go wrong with Earth Wind and Fire. Some EWF reaction requests: Keep Your Head to the Sky, Sun Goddess, Can't Hide Love, Mighty Mighty, Yearnin Learnin, In the Stone.
For those who missed the music of The Classic Era, I feel ya! 😢 Serpentine Fire is a must. Actually, ALL their albums kill… Everything they recorded is Top Shelf…
You guys should react to "Leonid and Friends". They are an amazing Russian band that covers mostly songs by Chicago. They've also done a couple EWF songs.
THE FLOATERS - "" Float On (Traducao) "" VIDEO Extended Original Version (5:52 min) Guys the Thumbnail of this VIDEO features the FOUR Band members wearing Light Blue 1970,s GROOVY Outfits and the Running time is 5;52 min this way youguys dont get the Shortened version wich is only 4;13.. the original "" Float On (Traducao) "" wich means Subtitles and Vocals are in ENGLISH 🎸🎹 🎻🔥🎶

They were the most elegant funk band, ever. They had everything, including string arrangements by a young, fresh from Canada, David Foster (check him). I saw them for this tour in '78 at Madison Square Garden. I'll never forget it...They came out of 3 pyramids who's sides came down.
Saw that same tour in Houston... Yep, they killed it.
one of the greatest bands ever

EWF were technically brilliant , superb musicianship , superb vocal arrangements & you can dance to them too.
There has never been a group like them. So excellent in so many ways. It was so amazing growing up during this time.....the "good old days" were truly golden.

They were an amazing band! Their unique style was loved by all!
I wore this album OUT! 🔥🔥🔥🔥💓💓💓💓
There is a band from Moscow who covers this song. You cannot tell the difference between the two.
Leonid and Friends. They also cover Chicago covers too spot on.
Yes their renditions are fantastic!
EWF fans who have never heard Leonid and Friends cover this, MUST see it to believe it. Nothing more to say. Edit: I just went back to watch L&Fs cover of Written in the Stone. It's an even more incredible cover. It's so tight, it's almost not possible.
Saw Leonid and Friends twice. They are awesome!

I got to see earth wind and fire wayyy back in 1974 at the California Jam 1 festival. Loved them then and still love them today.

Being a white cat at 60 I seen this tour in my hometown in 78 it was incredible what a band Philip Bailey live in his prime was insane 💯🔥
Bad ass song! Philip Bailey’s voice is incredible!

This and “After the Love Has Gone” are probably my favorite EW&F tracks…they definitely take me back to being a little kid at the tail end of the 70s.
They are my all time favorite band. My favorites are Imagination, In The Stone, Can't Hide Love, I Can't Let Go. When Maurice White passed I had an EWF binge day. I played them all day and never repeated a song. They're the best!

Thanks, Guys! I needed that.
Some great, epic music and a collection of smiles makes a day better.
Fenom hit the nail on the head. Most people "hear" music. Those who know... LISTEN to music.
The most fun ever at a concert was EW and F. 🥰
PHILIP BAILEY
From the early seventies, EW&F produced platinum after platinum after multi-platinum record into the early eighties. You couldn't drive around in the seventies without EW&F coming on the radio again and again. They were monster.
More EW&F...please!!!! I enjoy you guys. 😊
THE ELEMENTS!!! Have to be in top 3 bands/Groups of all time!
Never knew the name of this. Played a lot in Philly for sure. Need more of whatever genre you'd call this. Bailey brings it home.
Oh yeah.♥️

Anything written at performed by the elements Or earth wind and fire Either way it's gonna be classics. My all time favorite song Is reasons by them And the next 1 is lover's holiday
Best R & B band of all time in my opinion. Philip Bailey hits some real high notes in this song, but this isn't the version I'm used to.
EW&F is about the black man's journey in life.Note all the Egyptian art work featured on most of their albums.
For those who missed the music of The Classic Era, I feel ya! 😢 Serpentine Fire is a must. Actually, ALL their albums kill… Everything they recorded is Top Shelf…
there’s many
You guys should react to "Leonid and Friends". They are an amazing Russian band that covers mostly songs by Chicago. They've also done a couple EWF songs.
