Much more on Band in a Box please! I've been using it for about five years and it is excellent, the manual is comprehensive (and large!) but watching your turorial was quick and easy to follow.I have subscribed in the hope of more. Thanks for your work.😃
Since I discovered Suno, I have become much more productive, many ideas that I had stagnant I have been able to develop with this tool, I generate ideas and then transform them to what I want starting from scratch, because the sound quality generated is still far from being polished (luckily for us) and then from the material that Suno gives me, I build, perfect, develop or implement your idea in my composition... And it's really fun, it's like having someone else, giving you ideas about what you want to do....
Same! Been creating vocal tracks for unfinished songs from 10-15 years ago and it’s so much better than what a person could do (believe me, I auditioned numerous vocalists for the same songs). I call it “virtual collaboration”, which is a term I hope can be widely spread. And for everyone who assumes that I must be having it write songs for me with minimal effort, my new answer is “if I told you I played keyboard, would you assume that I’m just holding down one key and letting the synthesizer do all the work?”. Cheers!
Great tips! I've used Band-In-A-Box for all my songs to some extent and just discovered Suno. Songwriting is what I'm most comfortable with so I'll probably use Suno to get inspiration for melodies and chord progressions.
This was very interesting. As an elderly musician and producer who's seen it all I agree with your idea that musicians and producers need to work with the latest tech to raise their game. However, useful though this technique may be, I imagine the AI will have been suitably upscaled by the end of the year. It's only a matter of time before someone designs a DAW that runs entirely on AI, and does it at any bitrate and sample frequency you like, rendering workarounds like this one obsolete. [One last thing - I'd forgotten all about Band in a Box! I had no idea it was still a thing. Looks wonderfully retro. I must check it out!]

Great vid. I'm a long time BIaB user (and agree that it's so deep, you never use all the features). My current wish is that Suno let you export the various stems. I might try some of the 'separation' software that's out there just to see how that works. That would make it a lot easier to work with stuff like Toontrack or Melodyne.

Excellent content. Thanks. It would be nice if suno provided the option of downloading a midi file and a separate audio file for the vocals. Until then, I would love to learn more simple tricks and techniques for modifying and editing suno’s output that can practically be used by a novice.
I was wondering what year of audio chord wizard you are using as it does not work as well in 2024 also thinking of reverting or adding one of the old vertions to my hard drive you make finding the bars look so easy!!
I've been editing the generated songs in an audio editor... cutting, overlapping parts (I generate more than one version of the same song, so I have several excerpts available) , and inserting real lines (me playing and singing)... it's really fun and results in interesting things... at least for me, obviously, since I'm not a professional. Posting another one tomorrow (that's the plan, anyway) that gets into using it to generate vocal harmonies for use in other DAWS. BnB has its own internal vocal (tc-helicon stuff) harmony generator that I'll be doing still another video for.
Anybody who has ever gone into a Studio and worked with a Producer, know how much input goes on, from them into the process, some will even start adding instrumentation etc, so AI is no different, the genie is out the bottle, interesting use of Band in a Box, what I am looking for is a tool that can allow more work on the vocals from Suno, change phrases and phrasing, delivery etc.
Yes please, a full tutorial about how to turn AI songs into own instrument changes (in other programs). I would love that! Thank you for your channel! Are there website alternatives to Band in a Box?
I’m gonna have to play with this. I just discovered Suno last week and have already put several songs out. They work well enough for me as is. But if I can mage them sound better, bonus! Especially my favorite song I’ve made about Vincent Price called “King of Fright!”
Suno can be used alongside other tools to produce music and people should not feel bad using it. I've been writing songs for years and never have been able to fully express myself. Working a Full-time job, limited funds, etc. Suno replaces musicians the same way band in a box does. Being able use a sample of your voice to extend and personalize your songs is life changing.
Take vocal run it through Audimee to get a wow ai singer but there must be better way to get the instruments like ableton wizard midi, or waves or sonic?
Agreed with you... And I say: To disown technology is stupid, this is the way the industry is going, the world in general... whether we like it or not, so the best we can do is adapt and use it to our advantage.
Could anyone kindly provide assistance in obtaining the Band-in-a-Box software? I am eager to acquire it for educational purposes and expand my proficiency in its utilization.
Hmmm. Looks to me you're not able to combine the STRENGHTS of the 2 programs. I want the SOUND, especially the vocals (high fidility, granted) of SUNO, with the FLEXIBILITY/ADAPTABILITY of BiaB. Because you can't put a chord structure in Suno, right? So that's not a good basis. And you can't create soul vocals in BiaB. Sadly.
Hi Bob, Great video, thank you. I dont have the "Launch Audio Chord Wizard" under audio menu in BIAB 2024 Pro on Windows, any idea if its totally been renamed to something else please?
I came across your channel while looking for improvements for Suno Music. Thank you for introducing Band in a Box, wonderful software, but too big for my musical needs. Is there any software that can improve Suno songs in a simpler way?
Hi, fantastic content! Question, how and what exact prompt did you use to tell Suno to have a decent intro instrumental like your song here? Suno always starts the song immediately with verse 1 and it's kinda annoying coz many times we'd like to have a decent intro instrumental before the singing starts. Any tips?
Your videos are really good, I'm learning too much from you. I have an issue with Suno, I have a song which I like it but for some reason the vocals made a weird pronunciation in some phrases. How I could replace the bad pronunciation without change the music? Is there any way to patch it? Best Regards.
Very very interestinmg (and i already have over 50 songs (funny, not something serious) ready from Suno. But what is also very interesting here is the closing of the video. How did you do it? ( I LOVE it)
I am not an expert in anyway i have been generating songs in the last week with suno v3 and it is great,i also use an app called Moises, i have the premium version and it splits the sumo track into its varous things like vocal bass drums etc and it also tells you the chords as the song plays so i am interested in Band in a box to try and improve things i do some busking and i think this could be a good tool to write songs to play on the street...
I finally understand how non-artists feel about low-quality AI art! As a comic book artist, I'm always baffled by how people can't see the obvious issues with AI-generated images. It's like me trying to read sheet music - I have no clue how to differentiate notes, haha! On that note (pun intended!), I'm a professional comic book artist but a hobbyist animator. I was trying to use AI music for my animations, but wow, I didn't realize how bad it sounded! Question: Could I use JJazzLab 4 instead of Band-in-a-Box to import and edit AI music in my project, making it clean and clear? (Yeah, just gotta struggle through with this until I can afford a real musician.)
can you do electronic dance music with the band in a box thingy? I am trying to make the sound sound a lot clearer because sometimes i get weird distorted sound on Suno AI
Thanks 4 the vid Bob, what really sorprised me was this BBox option! I can get any audio, it will generate comping for diferents instruments and then I can export midi and use my own vst I understand, awesome! I was looking a toy like that. Suno wise, yes it sounds great and you can put lyrics but still is very average, can't customize shit. I get the thing that makes people to flip, but in my case, being a musician, it's not that great.
I have been learning a lot from your videos, thank you. As a songwriter I have lots of unfinished songs - how could these programs be used as my song writing partner - "Hey Ai I have 2 verses and a chorus can you write a bridge with lyrics and a blah blah blah..." ? Thank You.
Just a more general question; I like to generate epic metal with orchestra with Suno to kickstart my own ideas, but I never reach the "fullness" that Suno tracks have - do you happen to have an idea what SUNO might uses to create orchestra or synth parts or what it does to make it sound to full?
I've just started to mess with Suno this past week, it's really cool. Currently my plan was to separate out the stems and hire artists to perform them, then reassemble. :)
Tho mei na Mera song generate Kiya suno ai pe uska loop mujhe bhot pasand aaya spilt kar ke sirf uska hi loop Mei na mera song pe used kiya tho copyright nhi ya koi future mei problem nhi hoga na plz reply me
How the heck can I edit the existing lyrics in a song I already created without deleting the whole thing and starting over again. The "extend song" doesn't seem to have that capability. I am a pro user.
Wow! This is Amazing! Can you please do a full tutorial on this ??? Also how can we add our vocals to it? Thank you! Best Channel ever! :) Blessings your way Bob Doyle! :)
Thanks for your prompt reply! I just found out I can use biab as a plugin in Logic pro, so I will record my vocals there! This is amazing! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us all and for your time and dedication! I'm super grateful! 😊
SUNO has a vocal remover. Only issue I have is that it leaves what I call ghost prints of the lyrics. You can still hear faint traces after it splits the tracks. Does the website you suggested do a better job?
As you can probably tell from my username and channel how I feel about Ai generated music, even though I'm a musician. At the moment, I'm not recreating the tracks because of the nature of my project. It would take too long to build the kind of catalog I need and the quality of Suno V3 is good enough for UA-cam listeners. But I do plan to use Suno to compose songs that I will recreate and I wonder how many professional songwriters are doing exactly that right now. When it comes to copyright, they simply won't say that the music was Ai generated and because they recreated it, there isn't any evidence of it.
I think that’s the best use of Suno in its early stages. This is an amazing “concept” tool where you can hear some ideas and recreate them into a full project yourself Obviously as the tech gets better and their voice modules become more clear, this will become a more viable option to create a final product out the box
@@gotopiz 💯%. Things will change quickly. Learn it now with an open mind because it will eventually be THE writing tool for demos and then releasable tracks. There are also several ways to monetize this without needing to worry about copyright when it's part of a bigger money making endeavor you control. The sooner, the better position you're in when the dam breaks.
All I wish from any AI song composer are MIDI files. I am a total novice, I use GarageBand IPadOS w/dozens of AUv3 Instruments (Moog’s, AudioKit’s, etc’s) Also Riffler’s, iBassist, etc’s for adding more AI ideas. The experimentations and results are for me only. Been subscribing to Songen (very poor, but standalone), and the better AIVA (much better, but must run it on my Mac for any real time editing options for their MIDI downloadable files). Just created a surprisingly funky Krautrock song with this Suno that I would love to tear apart and build up again w/my own AUv3 instruments. Nice video, but for Suno, I ask if will you be adding MIDI track options?
Good video but the screens look like either an old version of BITB or actually RealBand? ACE in the 2024 version of BITB along with its other misdemeanours looks and operated differently and is a pain to use
Yep, Suno needs to be able to produce vocal & instrument Stems!! The quality would be better than using software to separate the parts, plus us that like to DJ would be totally hooked!! They need to get it done!! I'm sure they will realize how cool this would be and add the feature.
Thank you for your videos. Can we do more Band in a Box. I believe with AI music generator getting more popular, many see the need to incorporate the process with other tools like BIAB. It will help creators to generate better music. It enhances the creation process. Hope to see more tutorials that focus on BIAB. Thanks again!
Had a crack at this today, but for some reason BIAB get's the tempo mapping completely wrong... the tempos it comes up with are about half what they are in the original audio.
I had the same problem so I just cheated doubling the tempo by dragging the bar 2 marker over twice as far before importing the chords into BIAB. That fixed it for me. Drove me nuts for 24 hours.
I would definitely say get the latest version and the cheapest bundle is probably great for a start. But look through the features and see for yourself. If you’re a musician who likes to play with lots of styles, maybe some of the upgrades are worth the money for you. Overall it’s a very inexpensive program.
Here's my problem. I do write lyrcs and I play basic guitar. But with Suno I was able to find a perfect guitar passage that I'd like to use. My problem? I cannot play it and it would take months or years trying to, and I can't use the audio from Suno because the stem audio sucks. I've been trying to figure out how to create my music without having a band and not being that talented at guitar. Any ideas?
I haven't updated Cubase since version 5 so I don't know if they do stems or not, but there are several other online sources for that, with varying levels of quality.

Are there website alternatives to Band in a Box?
wow, I haven't heard about Band in a Box since I was generating MIDI with it in the 90s! I had no idea it was still a thing!
OMG!! Half of my heart wants to start doing this immediately, but let's finish my indie game first and then boost the soundtrack with this ;)
Very informative, thank you for this very clear and detailed presentation !
I’m gonna have to play with this. I just discovered Suno last week and have already put several songs out. They work well enough for me as is. But if I can mage them sound better, bonus! Especially my favorite song I’ve made about Vincent Price called “King of Fright!”
*I like your thinking my friend when it comes to music producers and how we can use it as a helpful tool*
ua-cam.com/video/FO1gh_wrQ90/v-deo.html
Fun fact: when you create Suno songs, the lyrics are made up by the robots and the people have vocally sung it, mainly with recurring words.
Could anyone kindly provide assistance in obtaining the Band-in-a-Box software? I am eager to acquire it for educational purposes and expand my proficiency in its utilization.
It’s available at pgmusic.com if that’s what you’re asking.
Sadly.
Thank you for the video. I cannot make it work on the Band-in-a-Box 2024 I don't have a Menu:
Launch Audio Chord Wizard. Please help.
Hi Bob, Great video, thank you. I dont have the "Launch Audio Chord Wizard" under audio menu in BIAB 2024 Pro on Windows, any idea if its totally been renamed to something else please?
Wow, I really don’t know. It really didn’t occur to me when I made the video just how old my copy of band in a box was!
I came across your channel while looking for improvements for Suno Music.
Thank you for introducing Band in a Box, wonderful software, but too big for my musical needs. Is there any software that can improve Suno songs in a simpler way?
Exactly what I wanted! Thanks a lot for doing this
Great! Glad it was helpful!
Hi, fantastic content! Question, how and what exact prompt did you use to tell Suno to have a decent intro instrumental like your song here? Suno always starts the song immediately with verse 1 and it's kinda annoying coz many times we'd like to have a decent intro instrumental before the singing starts. Any tips?
This is so fantastic! I once had BB years ago - I never found any use in it. Now I do!
Yes! AI has really brought BB back to life for me!
Your videos are really good, I'm learning too much from you. I have an issue with Suno, I have a song which I like it but for some reason the vocals made a weird pronunciation in some phrases. How I could replace the bad pronunciation without change the music? Is there any way to patch it? Best Regards.
Why do i find myself adding every video you make to my favorites. And I'm not even a musician, not even close 🙂
Please can you explain about any eventual copyrights issue with Songs created with SUNO
That sounds amazing! Definitely going to look into that! Thanks!
Hmm thanks for this insight, definitely good nuggets.
I am trying to make the sound sound a lot clearer because sometimes i get weird distorted sound on Suno AI
i do not see the option launch audio chord wizard, im using the 2023 version
Thanks 4 the vid Bob, what really sorprised me was this BBox option! I can get any audio, it will generate comping for diferents instruments and then I can export midi and use my own vst I understand, awesome! I was looking a toy like that. Suno wise, yes it sounds great and you can put lyrics but still is very average, can't customize shit. I get the thing that makes people to flip, but in my case, being a musician, it's not that great.
Woow cool i need it!
I like 80's type of music...Is there a way to take an existing song from the 80's era and hear different variations of the song using ai?
I've just started to mess with Suno this past week, it's really cool. Currently my plan was to separate out the stems and hire artists to perform them, then reassemble. :)
Did you figure our how to separate the stems?
@@markushutto4017 There are various AI options, but the one I ended up using was RipX. It seemed to worked the best. Has a free demo.
Thank you! I’m definitely due for another band in a box video.
Can you clarify which stage of the process you want to add your own vocals?
Thanks for your prompt reply! I just found out I can use biab as a plugin in Logic pro, so I will record my vocals there! This is amazing! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us all and for your time and dedication! I'm super grateful! 😊
@@lauratomas4369 Thanks, Laura! I appreciate the kind words!
SUNO has a vocal remover. Only issue I have is that it leaves what I call ghost prints of the lyrics. You can still hear faint traces after it splits the tracks. Does the website you suggested do a better job?
I know people don't like it but this is the new way..
Love how you're using a program that started in 1990!
This is an amazing “concept” tool where you can hear some ideas and recreate them into a full project yourself
Obviously as the tech gets better and their voice modules become more clear, this will become a more viable option to create a final product out the box
Thank you for providing such valuable and clear information!
For better vocal extraction the new AUDACITY AI plug ins are good.
Just learned about these plugins last week! Haven’t tested them yet!
Whats the plugin called?
I have 0 anything in audio software. Which would you suggest get Audiophile or OmniPAK to work with what I create in SUNO?
Well, I'm about to find out, as I'm getting the updated Band-in-a-Box this week.
@BobDoyleMedia watch out for bar changes as pop out window does not resize properly nor does the apply button work
this was useful, thank you
Yep, Suno needs to be able to produce vocal & instrument Stems!!
@@BobDoyleMedia Ahhh... cool will give that a go. Thanks!
Awesome. Which version of band in a box would you recommend for starting as a newbie ?
Any ideas?
Is there a way to use Suno in Cubase? I tried once and it was a mess. I don't even know if Cubase has a way to make stems.
I haven't updated Cubase since version 5 so I don't know if they do stems or not, but there are several other online sources for that, with varying levels of quality.
