I'm a Slytherin and damn proud of it, even if it's founder is a jerk. Isolt Sayre is pretty freaking awesome for a descendant of Slytherin and Andromeda Tonks is amazing and she was put in Slytherin. Plus, green and silver is probably the best color scheme (it's tough, though, because blue and bronze is also pretty rad).
Andromeda Tonks was a Slytherin. Her daughter, Nymphadora, was a Hufflepuff. I know my shit. Andromeda isn't in the movies and only has a small role in the books, but she's amazing.
***** I'm not going to be an elitist prick like that. People see "Tonks" and whether or not they've read the books, we tend to assume the Hufflepuff one, because Andromeda really doesn't have that big of a role and Nymphadora does. And people can still be fans of it and not have read the books and even the biggest nerds make mistakes. :)
Just to let you know, the Slytherin and Peveree family (IDK how to spell it) joint to create the house of Gaunt. Harry is a descendant of the Peveree Family so that might be why Harry can speak Parseltounge as well as being Voldermort's Horcrux. I don't know if this helps you but....
Coughay While harry is a descendant he is also a normal person the gaunts tended to marry close relatives and even do incest in order to keep the bloodline pure. It is very possible that slytherin has various descendants but the parsel mouth trait has just been breeded out or become a rescecive trait. This is all weird genealogy since well it's all a theory
But the Potter family only inherited the Cloak of invisibility not the resurrection stone which belonged to Catmus Peverell the 2nd brother, meaning while they were related the Peverell ancestry for the Potters and the Gaunts split off years before they could inherit parsltungue. As for why Salazar Slytherins descendants were so uncommon is because of how much incest went into pure blood families, not only reducing family size but also affecting the fertility of a family as seen with the Habsburg family in real life.
Wait a second I just realized that Salazar encouraged the teaching of Dark Arts in a SECRET Room when no one else approved of it... isn't that exactly what Harry did in Book 5? The ministry disapproved of teaching defensive spells, but Harry, Ron, and Hermione encouraged the teaching of them in a SECRET room... I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
FinalFantasy7Freak6 Harry does have Voldemort in him. I suggest you watch FilmTheory's video entitled "More Voldemort than you think" or something like that. It states that Tom did not equally divide his soul into the horcruxes. Assuming his soul is divided in half every time he made a horcrux, his own soul was less than 1% in his body. Whilst Harry, though not mentioned in the video, was said to have absorbed Voldemort's soul whenever he destorys a horcrux. Put two and two together, and technically, Harry is Voldemort. that is, before the final battle when Voldy killed all the voldemort inside of him. so yahh :)
Abhinaya Mary Koshy this is obvious I am shocked that you didn't watch the chamber of secrets and deathly hallows. there is two scenes that make this happen and harry is voldy in a way but not all. I am sorry for this rant.i am not good:(

Slytherin is the house for ambitious and cunning people, even Harry’s son ( Albus Potter ) was in Slytherin, it’s just the negative opinions of Harry,Hermione and Ron in the novel series that influenced the hate for Slytherins, the same goes for Hufflepuffs , it’s the negative opinions of Malfoy and other Slytherins that influenced the hate for that house too.
WE ARE BLOODY CUNNING! If you call yourself a Slytherin then use the right word! In the words of Pansy Parkinson's "Somebody Grab Him!" because you need to go back to wizard school!. Sorry for hating, I am just really mad and reading through comments and replying
Yeah.. It's a little weird like that. You have to watch a certain amount of the video for it to count as a view, and then the comments and likes come. Also, since views are counted differently, the algorithms have to do some weird things, so there is some delay from views are made to them showing up compared to the simple counting of likes and comments.
“Have you ever heard of a decent one who can talk to snakes?” Yes, I Ernie, her name was Isolt Sayre. And her mother also could, and her daughter also could.
A FOUNDERS MOVIE WOULD BE AMAZING FORGET MARAUDERS THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD BE WANTING AS A COMMUNITY HOW HAS NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS?!?! Also amazing video!
I like this theory I’m glad I watched :) It was about much more than I thought with the title being what it is because to me it was obvious that he was a dark wizard. But all of the stuff about durmstrang- fascinating. I just love the history of the Wizarding world. Great theory Seamus 👍
You....realised that now??? Also we don't have proof that Voldy is a descendant of the Peverells cuz the wand wasn't passed down in a family instead won by killing the current owner
@ButterdCrump3ts wait....but we don't have any proof that the stone was passed down throughout the family. We only have the proof for the cloak being a family heirloom out of all of the Deathly Hallows. Voldy and Harry are probably related somewhere in their bloodlines cuz almost all pureblood families are but we don't have any proof of that and definitely not through any of the Hallows
When you say "some of my favorite theorists are slytherins" I was totally thinking if the SuperCarlinBrothers channel, because one of them at least (but I think both) are Slytherins, and my favorite theorists. So defiantly got a like from alone! Lol
Vulchanova (or could also be written as Valchanova, Вълчанова in BG) means wolfish, wolf-like. The stressed syllable is 'cha'. Hope that helps with meaning and pronunciation. ^.^ Greetings from Bulgaria!
no clue.but i do think dumbledore should have been a slytherin. he's far too cunning and conniving to be an honorable gryffindor. not to mention Dumbledore did believe that wizards were superior to muggles earlier in life.
Here's thing. It could simply be a matter that his name was Syltherin, so he or an ancestor, took an interest in snakes because of the similarity. Or it could go the other way. An ancestor had an interest in snakes and took the name, similar to how we have names like Baker, Smith, etc.
Okay, theory from me.... This theory has nothing to do with Salazar Slytherin but hear me out..... Seamus said that Hogwarts was a school built in (...) A.D (anno domino....after Christ) which doesn't add up because, you know Olivander (was making wands since) fine wand making since (...) B.C (before Christ) That's what it says on the shop, so if Olivander was making wands since B.C how did existing wizards know how to use them? If Hogwarts was made in A.D. Surely, each and every other place in the world needs to have something similar to Diagon Alley, like Durmstrang schools, have wands that were made from Gregorovic the Beaubaxtons (idk how to spell it) have a wand maker as well... So the point is if the wands were in making before the school, who used them SURELY it was wizards but how? If they didn't know spells and other stuff like that like where would they learn the spells if there was no school? Did they go to other schools? Or did they just KNOW what spells to use??? I know that Google might not be the most reliable source on when Hogwarts was made exactly, but I mean Google is somewhat reliable..... This is not really a Theory but just a longer question that I need an answer to....
Well... the founders had to learn their magic somewhere ;) I think small magical communities excisted since the beginning of humanity or others who lived more or less unrecogniced by muggles. They just experimented when they found out about their powers and were teaching their children and friends what they knew. Others where kind of like mad scientists (probably with their own apprentices) and trying to create new stuff like nicolas flamel (or Lunas mom).
Me, without the pureblood mania crap. I'm half/pureblood and proud and think all wizards are equal. Though, I may look down on those who lack ambition or intellect.
Rowynn Shiflet That's cool, too. We Slytherins always look out for each other. I just like the idea of being a half blood myself. Coz then you can have best of both the worlds and a lot of exposure. And many of the most powerful wizards have been half bloods. Like McGonagall and Voldemort. "Slytherin...where you will find your true friends"
Okay. Get ready for a rant from a Slytherclaw. We all know that Hogwarts was founded around the Medieval era in Europe when *muggles persecuted people they thought were witches*. So, it makes sense that Slytherin was skeptical to tell muggle-borns about magic, because they had been raised learning that witchcraft was evil. I think he agreed to let them in, though, because the wizarding world was more likely to be exposed if untrained wizards and witches were running around unable to control their magic. My guess is that one of the muggle borns used magic outside of school and almost exposed the wizarding world to muggles. So Slytherin probably wanted to stop letting in muggle borns into the school and the others didn't agree. Now, about the basilisk thing, What if, the Chamber of Secrets was actually a safe house, that the students could hide in if the school was attacked, and the basilisk was the weapon? We know that the details about things get twisted a lot so perhaps the legend of the the Chamber of Secrets got turned into the one in the books over the centuries. About the whole, Dark Arts thing, if Slytherin did just want to protect his students, he wouldn't just teach them defense. You don't win a fight by holding your opponent back until help can come, especially in the real world. He probably just wanted to give the students the ability to end a fight. Plus, there's no proof that Slytherin helped with Vulchanova's murder. Maybe Munter agreed with Slytherin, but didn't let him in on the plot.
Durmstrang isn't located in Scandinavia on the map on Pottermore. I'm guessing Durmstrangs location is so well kept secret that it doesn't even show the exact location of the school on Pottermore #keepthesecrets.
@@cgl-osl_ ...or it's in Scandinavia, where Germanic languages are spoken. Which part of eastern Europe do you think speaks German? It would almost certainly have a Slavic name.
I think this theory is spot on and well thought out. Great job, Seamus. Slytherins might have an evil history but Idon't think that automatically makes them evil.
I agree! They should make a movie on the founders. It can’t really be so hard to write a story about it can it? Well, I can’t but I bet Rowling can! The founders have so much potential for an intriguing, deep story. That’s just what I think. 🙂
Also my moral alignment is true neutral so I am technically morally seen not an evil person (even though some people tend to say chaotic neutrals are the actual evil persons)

Amber Rogue I'm pretty sure that it is definitely not in Scandinavia because of the way they talk in both the books and films. Also what they eat and how they act. I'm from one of the Scandinavian countries so I have a little expertise
Nope, they're not cousins (unless you count second cousins and more distant as cousins). Both Harry and Voldemort are descendants of the Peverells but there's no proof that the Peverells are descendants of Salazar Slytherin.
Abahsolomon no if voldemort is related to slytherin from is dads side for example and is related to Harry from his mom's s side slytherin and Harry wouldn't be related. I don't know exactly how Harry and voldemort are related and I don't won't to research now, so these are only examples. And also sorry for my English it isn't my first language.
Sparky Cat to be awnsit wen I read your coment I was going to say something thing mean cus im a slitherin and huffelpuffs are sooooooo weak and underrated so I didn't
I'm so confused about Durmstrang, you say Scandinavia (I live in Finland) and Dumbledore say friends from the North, which would make sense if it was in Scandinavia. So technically I would go there, but why is Victor Krum there when he is Bulgarian that is more towards Baltia and Russia geographically than in Scandinavia?
yeah there's more about it on pottermore but yes there is one in asia its in japan and its really cool they have these robes that grow with you and they change color depending on what year you are in(or how smart you are i forgot) and if you practice the Dark arts they turn white and you get expelled
I would actually go to Ilvermorny in North America since I have always lived in the U.S.A.; therefore, my house would be Thunderbird. The only downside going to this school would be that I would not be able to take my wand home until I came of age in the Wizarding World.

Hey, I could write a fan-fiction about that, and put it up on WattPad. After all, I do have a WattPad account.
Oh yes, that would be great! J.K. Rowling should do a book about the founders of Hogwarts and then Hollywood should turn it into a movie.
Órlaith Reichenberg here we have a hufflepuff
Sarah Mellin ravenclaw
YES WE MUST MAKE A CAMPAIGN FOR THE FOUNDER"S ERA. I MEAN THERES PLENTY OF FANFICTIONS BUT WE NEED A MOVIE!
I'm still gonna write a fan-fiction though, although I do agree there should be a movie.
I saw some wacky fan-made movie... but if they make a normal one, I'm all for it...
I'm working on one for Salazar.
"Some of my favorite theorists are in Slytherin!"
You're talking about J, aren't you :))
And Harry Potter Folklore. He mentioned in a Q&A livestream that he is in Slytherin House.

Tatyana Ilieva yeah can you sound that out for us in English?
Where did the founder's learn magic?
Colson ganthier GREAT VIDEO TOPIC!!
Colson ganthier hmmm actually I've never even thought of that, but I guess it's self-taught or taught to them by their parents
Colson ganthier they are demigods. Children of Hecate
Nina Fleming HOLY FUCK YAAAAAAAAAASSSS PJO
Magic would've been taught hereditarily or through a master-apprentice system before formal schooling like Hogwarts was established.
His name sounds like a snake, just like Lupin's name is freaking WEREWOLF MCWEREWOLF

Lol
I'm a Slytherin and damn proud of it, even if it's founder is a jerk. Isolt Sayre is pretty freaking awesome for a descendant of Slytherin and Andromeda Tonks is amazing and she was put in Slytherin. Plus, green and silver is probably the best color scheme (it's tough, though, because blue and bronze is also pretty rad).
Andromeda Tonks was a Slytherin. Her daughter, Nymphadora, was a Hufflepuff. I know my shit. Andromeda isn't in the movies and only has a small role in the books, but she's amazing.
Morgan Stiefvater SNAPE SNAPE SEVERUS SNAPE
Gavi have u read the books? Andromeda Tonks is nymphadora's (the one ur thinking of) mother.
Morgan Stiefvater not to mention fawking MERLIN was a Slytherin
I think a movie about the founders would be amazing. I’d love to see Slytherin being depicted as a Magento/Killmonger type character
If Salazar Slytherin married a pure blood technically anyone who also is a pureblood can be a descendant of Salazar Slytherin.
I
This is what I always thought.

Draco Malfoy I love your profile picture
Draco Malfoy wow be proud
Nice Username!
How the bloody hell did you get that name? Amazing
Fair Strife - IKR!!! How?!? And nice Ron Weasley reference!
PhoenixTales SSSSHHHHHIIITTT
FinalFantasy7Freak6 Harry does have Voldemort in him. I suggest you watch FilmTheory's video entitled "More Voldemort than you think" or something like that. It states that Tom did not equally divide his soul into the horcruxes. Assuming his soul is divided in half every time he made a horcrux, his own soul was less than 1% in his body. Whilst Harry, though not mentioned in the video, was said to have absorbed Voldemort's soul whenever he destorys a horcrux. Put two and two together, and technically, Harry is Voldemort.
that is, before the final battle when Voldy killed all the voldemort inside of him. so yahh :)
Damn, i didn't think of that!
Abhinaya Mary Koshy
this is obvious I am shocked that you didn't watch the chamber of secrets and deathly hallows. there is two scenes that make this happen and harry is voldy in a way but not all. I am sorry for this rant.i am not good:(
To me this proves even more that Harry is Slytherin, Hermione is a Ravenclaw, and Ron is a Hufflepuff.
I'm in Slytherin and some people describe me as an angel.
Really! Same XD
im slytherin and im a troublemaker
Becky BOSS I am not as sweet as some people may think, but I am sweet attimes. Draco just reminds me of some lazy slouch that doesn't wann do his homework.
Yea he really does and i am technically slytherin and ravenclaw brcause the test can never decide
Becky BOSS the majority of my test results are Slytherin but the big mother of them all the Pottermore test sorted me into slytherin. i go by that.
I do think salazar slytherin began the durmstrang institute because muggle borns aren't allowed in
Makiah King listen to his timeline again. The schools were founded 300 years apart. Salazar Slytherin would've been dead by the time durmstrang was founded
Dumbledore lived 112 years ish and he died because he was killed........
Nicholas Flamel lived to be 500
@@Maya_Lis well he had the philosophers stone
But maybe Slytherin invented something like the stone and just kept it a secret....it’s possible

I'm a Slytherin and I'm proud to be :)

no views, 4 comments, nine likes, youtube makes sense
Yeah.. It's a little weird like that. You have to watch a certain amount of the video for it to count as a view, and then the comments and likes come. Also, since views are counted differently, the algorithms have to do some weird things, so there is some delay from views are made to them showing up compared to the simple counting of likes and comments.
Yt only counts views from people who watch the whole thing and people dont watch the whole video and the still like it.

I am a slytherin. (Accoridng to pottermore)
But I am ravenclaw according to loads of other quizzes
Which one do YOU think you r
There's a quiz called wizarmore which is an extended version of Pottermore quiz with the same marking scheme. I confirmed as a Ravenclaw
I think us Ravenclaws walk a fine line with Slytherin. Were both very ambitious
Any sorting hat quiz tell me a’m a Ravenclaw yep even pottermore

GUYSSSSSSSS VOLEDERMORT AND HARRY R RELATED ERGHR cuz they were both decendends of the peverils
Wow Sherlock
You....realised that now???
Also we don't have proof that Voldy is a descendant of the Peverells cuz the wand wasn't passed down in a family instead won by killing the current owner
@ButterdCrump3ts OH YES I REMEMBER!!!!

Do you think Dumbledore is a descendant of Godric Gryffindor?
alonelychild no because in the eighth book it says he is in slytherin
I think Albus Dumbledore is a descendent of Ravenclaw
Because of his smarts
no clue.but i do think dumbledore should have been a slytherin. he's far too cunning and conniving to be an honorable gryffindor. not to mention Dumbledore did believe that wizards were superior to muggles earlier in life.
hermione was a gryffindor and snape was a slytherin and they were both unbelievably smart.

Your theories are so great and I've the same opinion as you! I mean it's just so logical how you explain it!
Seamus said that Hogwarts was a school built in (...) A.D (anno domino....after Christ) which doesn't add up because, you know Olivander (was making wands since) fine wand making since (...) B.C (before Christ)
That's what it says on the shop, so if Olivander was making wands since B.C how did existing wizards know how to use them?
Invented them like snape did
My last name is SALAZAR

Rowynn Shiflet 🐍🐍
Me, without the pureblood mania crap. I'm half/pureblood and proud and think all wizards are equal. Though, I may look down on those who lack ambition or intellect.
Abhinaya Mary Koshy best way to go. I'm muggle born, personally.
Muggleborn Slytherin and proud.🐍🐍
LookOutForNargles slytherclaws are the best
Seamus: I find it interesting that he didn't create a school in the UK, to teach his way to compete with hog-
Me: *DUMSTRANG*
Really well researched (as usual!) Well done! I agree!
Durmstrang isn't located in Scandinavia on the map on Pottermore. I'm guessing Durmstrangs location is so well kept secret that it doesn't even show the exact location of the school on Pottermore #keepthesecrets.
Thanks. It's also heavily implied to be in central/eastern Europe with the name that's derived from german
@@cgl-osl_ ...or it's in Scandinavia, where Germanic languages are spoken. Which part of eastern Europe do you think speaks German? It would almost certainly have a Slavic name.

I agree! They should make a movie on the founders. It can’t really be so hard to write a story about it can it? Well, I can’t but I bet Rowling can! The founders have so much potential for an intriguing, deep story. That’s just what I think. 🙂

Answer supercarlinbrothers
Do you mean ovisly
I thought Durmstrang was in Bulgaria
Amber Rogue I'm pretty sure that it is definitely not in Scandinavia because of the way they talk in both the books and films. Also what they eat and how they act. I'm from one of the Scandinavian countries so I have a little expertise
Amber Rogue I read up on durmstrang and clearly says that the founder of durmstrang was Bulgarian
there is a theory that Durmstrang is in Russia, and actually there is quite a lot of thick evidence to it
Amber Rogue According to the page, it's in Scandinavia, but it accepts students from Bulgaria. harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Durmstrang
well done! i really enjoy watching your videos and hearing your opinions!
Amazing!I think so, I love the way you explain everything. More Harry Potter, please!
Ello there! How are you doin?
actually harry is slytherin's descendent he was toms cousin dude
Nope, they're not cousins (unless you count second cousins and more distant as cousins). Both Harry and Voldemort are descendants of the Peverells but there's no proof that the Peverells are descendants of Salazar Slytherin.
But Voldemort is a decendent of Slytherin. So Harry is very distantly related to Slytherin.

THERE'S 11 WIZARDING SCHOOLS?!?!?! IS THERE ONE IN ASIA?!? IT MAY NOT BE HOGWARTS BUT AT LEAST I CAN LEARN MAGIC
I wonder if Canada has one
yeah there's more about it on pottermore but yes there is one in asia its in japan and its really cool they have these robes that grow with you and they change color depending on what year you are in(or how smart you are i forgot) and if you practice the Dark arts they turn white and you get expelled
Every country has one, we just don't know what all of them are yet.
Oh yeah, because white is the color of death in the asian culture. At least I think it is. To be honest I'm not 100% sure.
I would actually go to Ilvermorny in North America since I have always lived in the U.S.A.; therefore, my house would be Thunderbird. The only downside going to this school would be that I would not be able to take my wand home until I came of age in the Wizarding World.
