I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

If you feel unsafe in your home it's a reason to break your lease with no penalties.

    • @whifflingtit9240
      @whifflingtit9240 3 роки тому +3

That depends entirely on what the cause of the unsafe feelings is. There are people with psychosis or pre-psychotic/sub-clinical psychotic symptoms who will chronically feel unsafe and their brain will whip up ideas about why, when the real reason is internal to they person and nothing to do with the environment.

"Nobody else has roaches" is property manager BS. If you have roaches, other units in the building have roaches, they just don't want to admit that their whole building is infested.

"No one else has roaches" just means no one else was complaining about roaches... which means someone has them and doesn't care.

Palitato yuuuup same with mice and mold and fungi and bedbugs. My apartment complex, I have dealt with everything. We are trying ssooooooo hard to get out of this hellhole, but it isn’t easy. Maintenance does NOTHING either. They don’t care and literally won’t come when you call fifty times. I’m so ready to MOVE! It got much worse here once they put smart meters in, but I won’t even get into that and the health issues me, my fiancé, and our kids our having. All I can say is, it makes me want to live off the grid or at least as far away from 5g towers as possible.

My first apartment ever was infested with roaches the first day I moved in and they claimed we were the only ones with roaches. I knew it was a lie because I clean every single day and I would bomb the place, lay out traps, and spray preventive spray and they still kept coming. I wanted to move out but couldn’t afford to break the lease. Thank god I don’t live there anymore

@@TheKatarinaGiselle Isn't it... I dunno... illegal in some way? Y'know, to not handle health and safety concerns? Single-apartment problem or not. It's cheaper and easier to fix it right the first time.

I've worked in maintenance before, and its always a certain type of person that brings them in, and they always complain over minor things. Not the cockroaches they bring in, but the angle of the cabinet door is slightly off. Also have worked in complexes where no tenant spoke a word of English, and would use buckets or the hallway as their restroom because they refuse to use the same restroom as a woman, then proceed to complain the place stinks.

The apartment we moved out of last year, there was a tenant who live in the building next door. Would come and go all hours of the night. His stereo at full blast, and the most annoying alarm for his car. Not just a single beep, but something like 10-12 consecutive beeps in a row. I sleep like crap. IfIF I finally get to sleep, and the get woke up. I am up for the rest of the night. Our breaking point was when the neighbor below us would blast music at 2am and the new management would do nothing about it. We even started calling the police department when the 1st alternative (site management) did nothing. We were asked not to contact the local police department because it gave "a negative score against the complex". We were fed up and began house hunting. Found a place and signed before our lease was up. We had to pay rent and the first months mortgage BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT!

I had a neighbour like this, they were the absolute worst. Constantly playing extremely loud music and using screeching power tools. Fortunately, moved out about a year ago. I'll never understand how someone can be so inconsiderate of others, especially when they're politely asked and act like there's nothing they can do and the solution is so simple.

Molly, your frustration is 100% valid. Honestly, I never wanted to live in an apartment because I know how rude people are. So I worked my butt off and bought my house in SC when I was 23 years old (kinda a flipper house)...I’m 33 now. My reasoning for purchase my own house was 1. I wanted privacy, be my own landlord and make my own rules, control my life, and I did not want to deal with other people’s high school drama. 2. I wasn’t investing my money in real estate that would make me money down the road. Think about it....when you rent or lease, you’re throwing money away and you’ll never get it back. I bought my house for $86.000. My house is now worth $165,000. PLUS...I was a “first time home buyer” that offered me great deals and incentives so it’s more affordable to buy a house. My house payment is $720 a month!!!! And that includes a 2,000 square foot house, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 car detached garage, fenced in backyard for my 3 dogs, and 2 outdoor porches. Grant it, I live in SC where it’s cheaper to live and people are more friendly, but just think about. LA may not be where you’re meant to be. Life’s too short to be miserable. I see you OWNING your own place that you can call home....meaning you’re the boss, you make the decisions, not a f**king landlord that doesn’t care about your happiness or wellbeing. Doesn’t have to be a big house. Just blind friendly 🙂 I hope my life experience helps you in your future journeys. FYI, I’m gay so I ain’t hitting on you 😂 For some reason I always feel I have to say that when I talk to a pretty girl I respect 💕

It seems like the noisy people have the same idgaf attitude and make it your problem. I know live in a condo I rent and let me tell you owners are so much better to live around. Though of course people rent here retribution is swift for anyone that is doing any of those things you mentioned. I’ll hopefully never have to go back to an apt again.

I had a neighbor below my apartment who was an older woman that sometimes had her grandkids over but my god she was so loud. I'm hard of hearing and could still hear the screaming clearly. Once, a child cried for FOUR HOURS straight! But then she got a dog (our place is no pets) and we think she got evicted because of it. Suffice it to say we were happy she left... until my current neighbors moved in. They're even louder, but in addition to kids screaming, they also allow the kids to run up and down the stairs in the hall, they play loud music and sing terribly to it, play drums and piano, smoke weed (in a no smoking building in state where weed isn't legal), and have drunk arguments in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily though, we have a didgeridoo. When they're being too loud and won't shut up, we play it pointed at the floor for however long it takes them to quiet down. They've gotten the message at this point.

The fact that they wouldn't even commit to getting her plumbing issues fixed immediately shows their lack of concern for their tenants well being honestly. Even that sh¡t, she is covered until rental laws and they should've been fined for their negligence. It's really sad that so many people don't realize their rights and that this kind of stuff happens all too often.

I had an apt in Vegas that had terrible problem with roaches they sprayed once a week too. Didnt help they told me no one else was complaining. I became so frustraded I bought boric acid drilled holes out side of building and put boric acid in the holes also in my apt. It helped for awile they were 4 apts in each building. When I finally gave up and moved was when the apt next to me had their door open and I looked inside and my oh my that apt was so full of trash it was like 3 feet deep. After notifying the manager they started eviction process on the neighbor. I had already started looking for a place to buy so I moved before they were evicted. Worst 6 months of my life in that building.

    My neighbor/roommate/housing horror stories:
    1. First time in college so first roommate. She moved in, and so did her little friends. All of her stuff was filled with roaches. So we had a roach infestation within a week of her moving in. She barely seemed to notice.
    2. Third roommate in another state was psycho. I nicknamed her Ursula because she shares some physical qualities. She played mind games with me and turned a girl from the apartment across from us into her little minion. So then it was her, and her minion going along, playing mind games and just destroying me emotionally and mentally for several months. Also, my stuff got stolen from her so I was paranoid and anxious all the time too. Despite multiple complaints from me and my family to the school, nothing was ever fixed. I can write a book on the stuff that she did but I'll end it there. I got suicidal and that was when I knew it was time to move, so I got the heck out.
    3. My first actual apartment not owned by a school and I signed the lease and paid for it myself. That was a nightmare. First of all, I should have known, the apartment was out in country land, then behind some woods on a gravel road. That was a huge red flag. But I was young and excited for my very own place. Then the problems. A neighbor upstairs would have a buddy come over to pick him up, but would sit outside and honk the horn repeatedly nonstop until he finally came down. At least once a week, I never found out who it was, but someone would start banging on my door like they were trying to break in. This was terrifying, as one: the lock was cheap, so if you hit the door hard enough, it knocked the lock loose to where you can open the door. Two: I'm deaf, so half the time I never knew it was happening until I turned around to see the lock knocked loose. They never got in thankfully.
Then the infestation started. First was mice. I could not come out of my bedroom without seeing at least one mouse and then finding damage from them. Multiple complaints and barely anything was done. I ended up setting up my own no-kill mouse traps which did a 99% better job than the maintenance people. But more would come. Then the second infestation. Spiders. Spiders everywhere. They blended in with my furniture, blankets, floors, etc. And they were huge. I was constantly almost stepping or sitting on one. I ended up crying everyday because I couldn't see them and then, bam! There was at least one there. I couldn't sleep at night anymore. Got the heck out after I lost my job.
    4. Moved back into the dorms at my current college. Two problems got started. First, there was a bathroom right above my room, and it kept leaking. So I had sewage water coming down through the ceiling and raining down the walls. Every week they told me it was fixed, every week it would start again. It smelled absolutely awful and I had to constantly wash my clothes and blankets. I was lucky none of my electronics got ruined. Then, my building had an issue with the fire alarm. It started going off without warning, mostly at night. So, I'll be sleeping, and suddenly this high pitch shrill noise would go off, and when I jolted awake and tried to leave my room, I couldn't. Since I'm deaf, my room had to have a flashing fire alarm. So, in the middle of the night in pitch blackness, my eyes could not adjust because of the repeated flashes of light. So, I am in a panic trying to find my way out of the room deaf and blind. This happened so many times in just one week, that I developed panic attacks from sudden flashes of lights and noises. After more complaints to housing and them refusing to do anything, I moved back out.
So, those are my horror stories. Currently, I am loving the apartment I am in now. Though, it could use some windows. Yes, I live in an apartment that has no windows.

@NoochTV That's what I thought was interesting about the Ton Scott video. So many of the hand gestures we use are universal. Obviously there are regional gestures (like thumbs up or flipping the bird, these specific examples have spread through globalisation but there are many local ones) as well as regional styles (like your example of Italians), but generally other people from different areas use their hands the same sorts of ways.

They tried burning down my side of the duplex. I wish I would have snapped a pic but it happened so fast. The fire department was all up n down my street and fox news even came. A guy jumped out with a camera n took off running. My neighbors stole packages off us then set a piece of wood on fire between the porch n house n it was smoldering. I couldnt tell where the smoke was from n had to call 911. Thankfully I stopped it before it caught, n we were getting ready for bed. It was so scary. N I have a 8 yr old son who was in the duplex with me.

I was so glad when we moved. Our nice neighbors moved and a pretty big family moved in. Ages ranged from infant to like 45. They partied every single night. The walls shook. Roaches were coming in. Trash was everywhere. They were drunk all the time. Their kids would jump all over our cars and the adults would sit on them during their parties. One of them got in my car while I was getting my child out my appartment and started blowing my horn. The kids would run outside naked and the men would fight. The broke stuff and it always stank. They would all sit in front of our door and we would have to ask them to move so we could get in and out.
When they finally moved some guy and his sister moved in. He never went outside. All he did was play video games. I'm fine with that. Soon after they moved in our account got hacked and someone ordered thousands of dollars of gaming equipment online using our info-_- .
Luckily the bank stopped it after a couple hundred and gave us the money back.
So glad we moved. I didnt know what peace was till we moved out of that place.

One time they threw a beer bottle down the stairwell. That time I called the police and then the landlord in the morning. He got evicted and he approached me on the street asking why I called the cops. When I did call, the police told me that I was not the first person who called. I had an issue with a neighbor, I came home from work and found a new clock hanging in my bathroom, a gift from management was posted on a sticky note so when getting ready you know when its time to leave. I just moved in and didn't think much of it at first, so for a few days, I did my normal bathroom shower thing. A little suspicious, I asked the office about it, they said they didn't do it. The next-door neighbor works for maintenance at the complex and he used the master key to enter and hang the clock. It was one of those spy clocks with a camera. I took the clock off the wall and there was a wire going through the wall into his apartment which shared a common wall. They just painted my apartment prior to me moving in, and one night as I was sitting on the sofa, I also noticed the screws that hold the AC vents on had some scraps on them from a screwdriver removing the screws, which was odd since they were just painted over, so I got a flashlight and looked into the vents and there was a camera behind the several vents. I called the police. They traced all the wires back to his apartment.

I mean even from a more selfish standpoint, I just never want to be labeled "the bad neighbor". Because even if you are someone like me and don't really care if people LIKE/LOVE you or not, like Im not going to go out of my way to people please etc, but I don't want people to DISLIKE/HATE me either. I mean even just for your own selfish convenience, if you are pissing off your neighbors and people around you, you are then going to make YOUR life more difficult. If you mind your own business and don't bother people they tend to not bother you either, but when you disrespect people and mess with their daily lives they are not going to feel bad about calling security, reporting you for various things, and every little thing you do that you are not supposed to be doing is going to be on their radar and they are not going to be as lenient then if you were just a little bit nicer and more considerate. You don't even necessarily have to be NICE to people, just a little consideration can go a long way.

From stomping their feet (definitely not heavy footed) to their giant dog running all over the place, to blasting their horrible music (this is from 8am to 3am most days). If my husband and I had family or friends over for dinner (6-7pm the latest they would stay is 10pm) the neighbor will come and jump up and down in one spot to get us to lower our voices then turn his music which was already loud up even more. Shaking the walls. I've spoken with management and they refuse to do anything about it. Needless to say we are moving at the end of March. It wasn't just this neighbor it was also people parking in my paid for undercover parking spot or blocking our garage entrance for the night cause our apartment complex lacks parking unless you as the tenant pays for the spots.

In an apartment complex just one apt doesn’t get roaches on its own, multiple do so the other apts either didn’t care or didn’t notice.

my friend she and i lived in the same apartment when we were kids like in 1st and 2nd grade and she had a 8th grade sister and i was on the second floor and she was on da 5th floor then again her house was pretty messy and her mom was/is flaky and my mom can't stand when i leave trash out like bagged food that i finished or when i set my tissue on a plate that is was done using so it was a lot of that would make it more likely for it to not spread to me

is it me or are the zooms in this video a little more present? like there’s a zoom every 3 seconds

According to another commenter who actually counted: 41 zooms in one 6-minute section. That's a zoom every 8-9 seconds. Personally I found it easier to follow when I walked away and only listened x'D

Hello yes I am the other commenter who counted
From 6:58 to 11:09 aprox (cant remember exact would need to check my comment and am on mobile) there were 41 zoom cuts that I was able to count in that time frame and I know I missed a couple because of how much it happened
      Its unbearable

Oh no... having bad neighbours is so hard!
It's your home and you have to feel comfortable but if there are people around that make it hard... That's so sad..
