    As an American I had to run over to google "what is a box room" Oh it's what we call a spare room. What a lovely little space. I am fortunate to have a large room that once was a bedroom when my children were home. Now that they are grown with homes of their own my husband and I have spread out to fill the house. That being said you have inspired me to maybe bring some plants into my sewing space. The room has lot's of function but not a lot of inspiration. Thanks for sharing your little creative space.

    Lovely little room. You have made it look really nice with the plants and that mirror. I have no dedicated sewing space. I use my machine wherever I can find a spare space on the dining table. My embroidery machine lives on the dining table as there is nowhere else sturdy enough as it is large and very heavy. My sewing stuff is all around my tiny home. The second bedroom is earmarked for my sewing/craft room but I'm making no headway on that at the moment. Most of the 'junk' in there is my sewing stuff i.e. fabric, tools and thread and lots of other stuff I've forgotten I have! It is frustrating having to go from room to room looking for what I need. I hate that. What I need is proper storage in the bedroom so I can put things where I can find them. I know what storage I want and am saving for it. That and a gateleg table for cutting will be perfect. I dream of the day it is done!

    Love that room, I sew in the conservatory which means that the light is good. But my friend has a dedicated box room sewing room which I really admire. I have to tidy everything away all the time which is not always convenient. So sometimes I’m put off starting something because I haven’t got time to finish a section and tidy up - if you see what I mean.

      I totally see what you mean! Lighting is so important so I bet the conservatory is great 👍🏻

    Such a cute room. Love all the plants. I Have a really large space, not a lot of natural light so we put a skylight in, much better now.

      Thankyou it’s so small but a positive room. Oh I bet the skylight makes such a difference. My main sewing room is so dark as it backs onto the conservatory so gets no direct sunlight

    Loves
    Lovely little room !❤️ For me I have a log cabin in the garden I sew from. Love it!!! In the winter, I come into the spare bedroom, as I find it too cold in the cabin in the winter, and feel my machines and overlocker are better at a warmer temperature x Roll on spring for all of us!!! 😀

    It's a lovely sewing room. If you feel happy in there, that's what counts. I have a small sewing space and I love it.

    Cute space Mal! Yes, having a clean and inviting space keeps you motivated and excited. I have a small space but would love more room 😏. I've made it as cozy and charming as I can, to keep me wanting to get cracking on projects in 2021!

    Mel, I had lost your channel and just found you. I think your new lovely name didn't carry over in the subscription. I hope you are still making videos. Love everything you create and you are an inspiration!

    Thank you for showing us round. You'll enjoy your hobby in there. I sew in my spare bedroom, under a window, and come out to the dining area to cut, and press. This seems to work well, and I guess gets me to stretch my legs between the two areas, and of course make another cup of tea before returning to the machines. Take care, from Heather in New Zealand x

    As always perfection Mel. Love how you interpret your environment and do things so purposefully. Your an inspiration. I’m in the process of taking over my daughters old room and renovating it from ceiling to floor for a small sewing space as well. Trying to take a lesson and think before I purchase and enjoy the process. Lol. Not enjoying the work so far!! But I’m hoping it will get me back to the enjoyment of sewing Love your vlogs.

    Such a beautiful room . I didn’t realise there was a mirror till you pointed it out, I thought that white table was in the corner ( but it’s the reflection) it really does make the room look a lot bigger. I don’t have a sewing room so I use kitchen bench, it’s the perfect height , majority of the time I sew during the day when the daylight is present as the bench is near a glass door where sunlight comes in. The only downside is that I have to pack it up everytime I decide to pause.

    What a gorgeous little room Mel, I can see why you are drawn to it. I’m just discovering house plants and I want to buy them all 😂😂 I really do like the string of hearts though. I have turned an area of my dining room into a sewing space. It makes all the difference when you don’t have to keep putting everything away. It’s still only a small space but it works for me and I do find it inspiring 🤗🤗🤗

    Such a nice and serene little room 🌿 Do you keep all your materials still in the other sewing room? Where do you do the cutting out? I’m fortunate to have a quite large room for my sewing and everything regarding that. Thanks for sharing!

      Great question ... where do you cut your fabric?

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  3 роки тому

      Oh yes all other stuff is still in the big sewing room, I will do cutting out etc in there on my big table. It’s soooo cold in there though so don’t currently want to sit in there for hours to sew xx

    Really pretty Mel with all the touches that make the room YOU. 💗. I also enjoy beauty and space planning. I had a thought as I watched your tiny room makeover. What about moving the vintage Singer to the top shelf or another place of importance and using that area for your main sewing machine or additional serger?

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  3 роки тому

      Thankyou and that’s a great idea as I think I would struggle to fit the serger on the desk 🙂🙂🙂

    Should that be a bedroom then as it doesn’t look like it would fit a bed. Natural light is really important when sewing. I sew on a desk in our conservatory and as it has a glass roof it’s flooded with light

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  3 роки тому

      We’ve never used as a bedroom, I think you would struggle to get a bed in, maybe a little single but nothin else would fit in. Totally agree it’s making such a difference having light, my main sewing room is so dull as it has no direct windows. What an amazing place to see you have, I bet the glass roof is so wonderful to work under xx
