Wasnt aware that was a unique occurance =_=; Billi is astonishingly clever, no contest ... However my 30lb house panther in fancy dress uses cuddles, as well as wherever you needed to sit or walk, as currency for play time, or (the less often given) treats
"Catnip" (coffee or herbal medicine for the ouch) "then" "fantoy".
I believe she's telling you to take pain meds first, then play fantoy with her. Very clear instructions.
Catnip is actually a really good antispasmodic for humans, and it works very well for nausea, too.

Billi knows what she wants. Mom has just run into what my boy cats do on the regular...stubborn persistence. They're a wonder! At least you're not left wondering what she wants! She makes it clear.

My kitty boy tries desperately to tell me what he wants sometimes, and I have no clue. 🤷♂ Which makes me want to get him buttons like these and start teaching him words. On the other hand, I think I am not so secretly afraid of what he'd do if he learned to 'speak' English 😂

Billi continues to show time and time again that animals are much more intelligent than we think, being able to "make a trade" is a big example of this as it shows they understand cooperation and fairness.

She also understands past, present, and future, and knows how to use adverbs properly ("then")!

@@cassiereno114 In this video, as you saw, the cat used the adverb "then" to indicate the sequence of things it wanted. To me, that's more incredible than it just pressing a bunch of buttons for various nouns, as it is evidence of more advanced cognitive abilities and linguistic and conceptual understanding.

Love chelle lexi ♡ Billi would be freaked out though by how loud Lexi is when she's barking as she presses every button. All the talking animals really need a world tour to all meet up.
I really think Billi recommended the catnip to help with the ouch then was like "okay fantoy now" lol
This leaves me less interested in teaching Clementine kitty to use buttons (we haven't signed up yet). Clem can tell as if by radar when either human has an ouch, and sits on us purring and kneading to make it better.

I've had non cuddly cats tolerate a cuddle when they've been asking for food (meowing and going back and forth to bowl). They definitely know how to bargain.

It can be very frustrating for the dear cat when the caretaker seems to show regression in caregiving; but with persistence, tenacity and fortitude, a cat can return the caregiver to that minimally acceptable (to the cat) level of care so fondly expected: perfection. Hang in there Billi, your patience and gracious diligence will pay off in the end.
When a person is ‘ouch’ cuddling is soothing but playing a game like fan toy is not what you want, I get it but does Billi . I don’t think Billi likes cuddles that much but she thinks you do so you are right she was bargaining. Very strategic move there on her part
Watching this is so sweet. You say you have „ouch“ so Dr. Billi treats you with what she knows is good for you: Cuddling for comfort and she recommends „catnip“ to get over pain. Then she says: ok, let’s take this slow - when playing „fantoy“ she stays close, bounces less and is mostly lying there…. but still - playing fantoy: „see, human, we got this, I am with you.“
We just need to teach about 200 more cats from all over the world how to use buttons and create a new model UN.

This reminds me of my cat when I had my wisdom teeth out (it was a disaster, something happened when they had cut into my gums idk but I was in so much pain) my cat wanted to play THEN AND THERE. So my face is swollen, I'm on a lot of high dose pain killers barely staying awake for more than half an hour. And my cat decides she wants to play FETCH with her catnip mouse. She brought like 4 seperate catnip mice and swatted and meowed at me to wake up and play fetch with her. She even gave me multiple throw attempts but dammit she wanted me to play fetch....
And then she came and slept on my chest with me or snuggled my arm. She loves days when I'm bedbound. Then its CUDDLES ALL DAY.

I think maybe she learned that you'll say yes to 'cuddle' and that gets you within arm's reach of the fan toy, which is then more difficult to say 'no' to. Who's training whom?
Cuddles for fan toy seems like a fair trade to me. My rabbits just try to shake me down for treats like they're mafia enforcers.
They will be chewing on something they shouldn't, come running and ask for treats when I say something, and if they don't get treats they start chewing again.
Billi is just trying to tell you what to do to make the ouch go away. Cuddling and fan toy is the cure!
Thank you for showing us the struggle of when your cat wants to play but you just don't have the energy. Glad I'm not alone, I always feel so guilty!
