Amon-Ra’s drops are so rare that I do remember them when I see them. Last week against HOU he had a pass hit him in both palms and just fall to the turf. He’s so clutch we call him Amon-Ra First Down in our household XD
Jags were so outclassed. The Lions have a crazy good offense. Everyone is better because every offensive position has no weakness. It all come from the offensive line. When Goff can eat a sandwich and pick his receivers, it's easy. When the line blow holes and the receivers block, it's easy. Sonic is a blur and Knuckles uppercuts you into submission. Saint slices you and Williams smokes you. The TE's just have fun blocking and catching. Brutal for opposing team defense. Lions have too many options. Brilliant management! Praise be Jesus! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm really glad Coach mentioned Jamo and Tyreek Hill, as I had commented in the live chat of Lions Talk Live, right after a Jamo touchdown, saying pretty much the same thing. I said Jamo and Tyreek Hill are the only current players I've seen that run that cross pattern and take it to the house on a regular basis. There may be other receivers that can consistently do that, but if there are, I haven't noticed them yet.
I don't know why the lions don't run that play more often - if they get the timing right - its a pretty high percentage play -and if he hits Jamo in stride - forget it - its over he's going to the house
Goff throws low over the middle in traffic very often. Considering how accurate he is on all other routes, I'm convinced he does this on purpose to protect the receivers from getting hit, and I think it works quite well.
They are best when they are a run first team - but you are correct that aside everything kind of runs off of St Brown. Even when he is not being targeted though he loves to get out and get after it in the blocking game - that is a hallmark of this lions team the receivers pride themselves on their blocking. Nothing better than seeing - St Brown and Peneii - getting around a corner - with either Montgomery or Gibbs carrying behind them - those are beautiful
Amon-Ra actually had two drops in Chicago last year, if memory serves. That game really stuck out since, as Coach mentioned, drops by him are exceedingly rare. That was during the Lions midseason slump last year, when a lot of Lions weren't playing particularly well. They obviously cleaned things up and had a great run, but they looked awful right around that time.
Will you tell Nick Wright this information? He can't seem to believe the Goff is anything more than "serviceable maybe average". The Lions matched the 49ers contract offer to Brock Wright, that is how much they value his skills. The Lions are a well oiled machine, everybody does what they are assigned.
I don’t get the people who are mad at the lions for “running up the score”? If it’s just for avoiding injuries sure I can kind of understand that argument, but the majority of hate I see are people saying it’s “classless” or “stat-padding”. Like cmon??
The opposite of running up the score is pulling your starters, which the Lions lead the league in doing. No other team has knelt the game out from within the 5 yard line - absolutely no one matches the Lions in leaving points on the field in our wins. It’s an announcement that they don’t watch our games for someone to say the Lions are running up the score.
You play till the clock hits zero whether you are down by 30 or up by 30. Whoever thinks otherwise and has something to say about that, are born losers who’s opinions dont matter.
I think Goff does a great job at protecting his receivers. He’s not leading defenseless receivers into a safeties shoulder like some other QBs do that are considered “better” I’m sorry I’d rather have our receivers in for the season compared to getting a free penalty
Imo in the beginning of the season teams were scheming to take Amon Ra out the game. Jamo stepped up so teams had to start playing different coverages and that freed up the Sun Gawd
Coaches probably made Wright run all the way down at that safety on Jamo's 64-yd TD as punishment for going too deep on the block when they ran the hook and lateral, because I can guarantee if Wright sealed his defender, Jamo was gone.
@@STREAMSONLY-vt6gx yea I'm sure he just got some extra reps in practice to make it up, but it's funny to think of Campbell going to Johnson and saying "next time we need Wright covering down field have him go after the furthest player" 🤣
Jamo took the Lions from a top 5 offense to an all time elite, record matching/breaking must see TV experience.
He's such an insane home run threat. Cannot be ignored, opens up a ton of stuff underneath.

I'm stealing that name from ya
@@NFL_ref_admirer I prefer the more rhyme-y "First Down St Brown", but "Amon-Ra First Down" is an equally fine nickname for him.
Wow. Jamos td just got even more amazing seeing what brock was doing behind the scenes. THAT is why the Lions are so good.
brock is ALWAYS doing stuff like that, love DET film because you can find all these guys winning their blocks all over the place

Nobody likes hospital balls and he almost never throws them
It's something I really respect about him. He protects his teammates.
Bingo
I haven't had a jersey since I was a teenager but I'll be getting me a jamo jersey. Let's go jamo 💪🦁
Thanks for cooking today coach! I see you.
Great video and great thumbnail too!
Saw Brock missed his block on the H&L live and i was like dang
Go Lions! Keep up the great content!
It was the NFC championship game, St. Brown had two of those and I've never seen it from him any other time.
Thats right - and Josh Reynolds too - he was very sure handed and he had that bad drop on 4th down in the 4th quarter
The key was getting Ra going early. Everything opens up after that.

@@pjpredhomme7699 I couldn’t agree more! What a time to be a lions fan. Since 1986 right here!

I was pissed at the disrespect Nick showed Goff, he's just so mad goff is looking better than mahomes this year
We said a year ago that with JAMO, D-Mo, and Jahmyr we had weapons.

People who say that are morons and didn't watch the game. Starters were out in the 4th qtr. That's not running up the score
Yeah, don't get it either. Starters were pulled at the start of the 4th. Folks complaining have no clue what they are griping about.
They crying like as soon as we're up by 2 or 3 scores, no matter the qtr or time left. "Pull starters" then the other team can come right back in it 😂

Caught last 30 seconds, so watching now. First things first, the Colts have a pulse (JAX did not) which means we'll need David to establish.
Someone needs to tell Williams to cool it on the TD celebrations. If he injures himself, he's an idiot.
Coach can you do a film breakdown of the LB we just got David Long Jr.
Houston was fast too. I think we will play better on the road this weekend.
Agree - Houston's defense was very fast - they flew to the ball
There's just too many threats, too many plays on film, and too many team players. You can't prep for a team like this.

I don't think our coaching staff, punishes guys like that. Maybe a learning lesson but not like that 😂
