  • I bought my girlfriend a Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 2 back in 2006 and it became our primary hiking, backpacking, and hunting tent. Fast forward 15 years, and we have a new updated 2020 model full of new features!

Big Agnes has great customer service. I like my seedhouse sl2 and my new rapid sl insulated sleeping pad. I noticed the Kuiu gear and I like my Kuiu products also and their customer service is great also. Kuiu and Big Agnes are my 2 favorite companies for hunting and camping. Good video!

Thanks for sharing! I've always liked Big Agnes gear, but the fact they replace gear after more than a decade puts them on a on another level.

nice video, very very good customer service indeed.
Is the bottom made of strong or fragile material? I am considering if it really needs a groundsheet, as I dont like to need groundsheets, but obviously dont want the bottom the get punctured in case of very light materials like 10d nylon etc? Best regards from Denmark.

I'm not certain of the thickness of the floor materials. I would assume it is somewhat easy to puncture if one were to try. I do have and use the footprint from Big Agnes, though it is the 15 year old model but I've never had a puncture in the tent floor or the footprint. I believe it is thicker material their UL (Ultra Light) models such as the Tiger Wall and Copper Spur use. As with all gear, to lighten the product there is usually some trade off.

How did it preform in the wind and rain if there was any? Thanks 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Both the 2020 model and the 2006 model handled the rain very well in my experience. However the top of the vestibule door overhangs the tent floor in both models, so entry and exit will expose your sleeping bag to rain while it's open. It was more pronounced in the older model, the 2020 door is a more vertical. The 2006 model did begin to have minor leaks once the seam taping broke down, which is why Big Agnes replaced it. I can't say I recall experiencing any truly high winds with it (anything over 30-40 mph). I'm sure there were some fairly windy nights on open ridgetops over the years, and it handled them just fine.

    Condensation?

The vast majority of the tent body itself is mesh, and it ventilates very well. The underside of the rainfly does get condensation on it, but as long as keep the fly off the netting you will have no problem. I've never had an issue with it.
