  • A stunning week spent exploring Exmouth and some of the best snorkelling spots along the Ningaloo Reef in WA. We drop Archie off at a local dog sitter and spend the day in the beautiful Cape Range National Park, checking out Yardie Creek then getting in the water at Lakeside, Turquoise Bay and Oyster Stacks epic snorkelling spots.
    Chris has a day out on the Ningaloo Reef in hunt of whalesharks and Hannah also headed out the next day! We both had an amazing time with plenty of snorkelling in some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen, but do we find a whaleshark?

    Another lovely late night watch just before bedtime. Nice to see some of Archie's friends socialising with him and weren't they all behaving well. Lovely underwater filming of the coral and the creatures amongst it. The whale shark actually looked more like a hump-backed whale - very big. The adventure goes on and very much looking forward to the next episode. Lots of Love. Dad

      Hi Dad - that was a humpback whale, not a whale shark!! We didn’t find any whale sharks unfortunately as it was right at the end of the season, so just missed them 😕 Will have to come back another time x

      Some of the best snorkelling we’ve ever done in the Ningaloo Reef, and literally right off the beach!!!

    What a shame you didn't see the Whale Sharks
    We swam with them in 2016, we got 6 swims with them ... it was a life time experience... we went with Eco Tours ... we in the month of May right at the beginning of the season.
    Did the tour you went with have a spotter in the sky ?
    You will have to revisit Exmouth on your next lap 😉
    It looks like you still had a great time ... we were also lucky enough to swim with Turtles at the Oysters Stacks , that was a great experience and free 🤣
    Thanks for sharing 😁

      Hi Roy, yea there were spotter planes all day, unfortunately I think we just missed out by literally a few days 😢 but an excuse to come back to Exmouth!!!

      Oh agree we have been to Exmouth a couple of times now , did you go see Coral Bay ?

      @StaycationOz  3 роки тому

      Yep, we visited Coral Bay, but didn’t stay there as it was ridiculously busy when we were there! Did an awesome Manta Ray trip from Coral Bay!

    Great footage guys but its sad to see the state of the sea life in Australia. Having dived and snorkelled extensively in Papua New Guinea in areas that have not been ruined by tourists there is no comparison. This country has ruined its sea life.

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  3 роки тому

      Thanks Melanie, yea some parts were worse than others unfortunately. We would love to dive PNG that sounds amazing!! It is sad that some of these place aren’t better protected or managed by National Parks, Oyster stacks should only be swam at very high tide so we waited 4 days before getting in to snorkel at an appropriate time, others just went in anyway at lower tides which was disappointing to see!!

      @@StaycationOz unfortunately its only a matter of time before that gets ruined as well. Thankfully its not a tourist destination - yet! Hopefully we will learn before its too late😓
