    I 1st saw Reg at the 1971 NABBA Universe at London's Victoria Palace..he was 42..before that it was only mags and in the few Hurcules flims he made..he was a great inspiration to me over the years...it would become some 20+yrs before I meet him once more this time sharing the stage in a seminar in 87/88...a legend and a true gentleman R.I.P Reg

    This is an area of great interest for people. I don't care who wants to take steroids,because that's a personal choice... that's his life. Now, today, everybody has access to them. I even saw in one of the big magazines that Arnold denies having used them, but Arnold was one of the first to bring steroids over to America. And everybody in the old days used them: Zane, Columbu, myself, Arnold, Larry Scott, Harold Poole, Dave Draper, and even Steve Reeves. There's no way to deny it.

    I'm going to have to disagree with that one. The golden era was around the late 60's to early 80's. Especially though in the 70s with Arnold's reign

    if you have natural great genetics, you can push pretty far without juicing. look at ronnie coleman in the 97' olympia. he placed 15th and he was not yet juicing. look at the 98' olympia and you will see his transformation. even the annoncers were commenting, "what has happened to coleman in the past year"? well what happened was he took his physique as far as it could go up to 97', then with the help of modern chemistry, proceeded to destroy the competition for the next, what, 6 years or so.

      Tejas Kulkarni I thought it started in 1966? With Larry Scott? Didn't Park compete in the 60s and go up against Arnold in the early 70s? Park had a more impressive physique than Larry Scott (amazing arms and trim waist bit not as big as Park) and Sergio Olivia (monster mass and trim waist but biceps lacked the shape and peak of Park and Arnie)

    @yessroman ....u r right bro...but they were not in mega dosages like todays...Just testosterone suspansion, dianabol and deca was on the market...just small dosages...not like today's non stop life killer cycles...lots of fresh protein(red meat,milk,whole eggs ect.)...lots of vegetables and some very basic supplements such as liver tablets or protein drink with cream shake...no Gh...No stimulants...and yeah, lots of brutal,hardcore,balls to wall free weight training!

    Look up the dates of when steroids were invented and available to the public. Then look at the dates of when the men you mentioned started training. Don't be lazy, don't assume that you're right. Just look it up.

    Steroids were invented by the end of WW11 but were not easy for the public to get their hands on, but steroids really became abundant in bodybuilding around the late sixties. Reg Park was natural and that's why I admire him.

    Not really. It's because it was well known in the seventies when I started training, and also before I was born, by those with any knowledge. NOW it's in Wiki, because they were on the sauce, Pearl, Reeves, Grimek, Park, all the best boys were doing it while telling us all to drink gallons of raw milk.

    @CFH320 he may have been early on, but at his peak, probably the 1980 olympia, he had to be juicin' like everyone else. you can't compete at that level and expect to win without it; especially if all your competion is doing it. it probably wasn't in doses some of todays knuckleheads use, though, in an attempt to maximize what aint that impressive genetically to begin with. its like when a great band takes acid to further creativity. it only works when you have the talent to begin with.

    Pearl and Reeves were not greater than Park! Park won the Universe 3 times, and he could have won it a LOT more than that, but he chose to compete once every 7 years. He won in 1951, '58 and '65. Park did not use steroids. Steroids came about after Zeigler got Ciba to make his Dianabol formula in 1964.
    Park got huge and strong after developing his now-legendary "5x5" program. That program has built more muscle bulk and power on bodybuilders than any other because it flat works.

      @@STEVEREEVES4444 Note the lighting. This same lighting was used in 1965 which showed Larry Scott as absolutely humongous. The overhead lighting accents muscle mass to the maximum, give a somewhat larger than the actual appearance. In more normal lighting Reg didnt look quite like this.

  • @craig6t

    Reg park was great, but I can't help but wonder if he was taking drugs. When you look at him beside Arnold, you can see he was as big as Arnold. Now, Arnold was taking steroids back then, but Reg wasn't? If find that a bit of a stretch, considering they were both about the same size.

    • @noelregi4767
      @noelregi4767 5 років тому

      Arnold was bigger later on in the early 1970s.Yeah he was big as Arnold in the 60s.Arnold got bigger because of certain enhancements which Reg park didn't do.Nevertheless both are genetic freaks.
