- Bodybuilding in the Golden Years, Impressions with the Old Bodybuilding Stars.
The old time greats such as Steve Reeves, Reg Park, Frank Zane, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dave Draper, Sergio Oliva, Franco Columbu, Robby Robinson, Serge Nubret were inspirations. Physiques to emulate. Those types of figures are sorely missed in this day and age.
Arnold is impresive ! ! Waooo

Old School is the best . Classic proportion and natural bodybuilder. Steave Reaves Frank Zane Franco columbu Larry Scott . No drugs and oil and steroids .
Reeves is the only natural out of those listed, everyone pre 1950 you can be sure is natural
All those bodybuilders were on steroids hahaha 😂😂
Cool!
Ich habe 1969 bei der NVA mit Body Building begonnen. Einer der Offiziere hatte im Keller ein winziges ,,Studio,, eingerichtet, welches wir Soldaten mit benutzen durften!

At 2:01, is that Serge that's pictured bench pressing with the ultra wide collar to collar bench press?
Yes it´Serge Nubret.
+brachoradialis hey buddy great vid, but the word you want is spelled brachioradialis, and it is the longest muscle of the forearm, the antebrachium. cheers mate
THE GOLDEN AGE
I thought that Sergio Oliva was always greater than Schwarzenegger, he just couldn't speak English well, and refused to kiss Joe Weider's big ass. And Serge Nubret, Frank Zane, and Bob Paris had the most beautifully symmetrical physiques, of the later men. But far and away the single greatest bodybuilder of all time has to be Steve Reeves, for so many important reasons.
Tom Platz on the right at 4:17?
+Chebby303 Would seem so yeah :)

Weider started Mr Olympia so the winners of Mr America could have another bigger title in which to compete? What about the Goodrich/Tanny Mr USA contests many years earlier in the1950s? Come on, this is just more bullshit from the self promoting Weider brothers. Also Mr Scott, it wasn't powerlifting, but Olympic Weightlifting. Get the records and history straight!
Good point about the Mr. USA . And those of us who have been around for a while know about the Weiders. But the USA went by the wayside and by 65 there wasn't any further competing except the NABBA Mr. U. So if it wasn't for the Mr. O we would't have had the great years from 65 to 75 or 79 depending on opinion. Sadly it's ALL EFFED UP NOW !!!!
