Quick tip, you can remove crowns from cards and move them around. Your snoof had a crown on it but was sitting in your reserve.

Also your double vase gets removed when you put it on another creature
@@MegaHuntress eh it depends. Snoof can be pretty hard to top because frequent freezing can be pretty good especially for bosses who can’t be frozen long so other freeze options tend to be outdone by snoof for them since other freeze support often is do a lot at once but less frequent especially when considering it’s one of your first cards so it may have gotten a few of the first upgrades. The healing one can be great for some builds too. The demonize pet isn’t that good in my experience even in builds that like demonize.
@@MegaHuntress anything with 3 cooldown or even less has high potential value for a build and that includes snoof. Afterall snoof has a high chance of being the best unit early on for most of your upgrades. If you don’t find a frenzy unit or something else with 3 cooldown or maybe a barrage unit it’s probably getting at least a third of your upgrades early on. 4 is afterall the norm for cooldown it’s why the 3 3 3 charm exist destroying your stats is worth it in a lot of cases just to bring you down to 3 cooldown and snoof as well as several of the pets start that way. Booshu’s the odd one out but it’s great if it’s gets the aforementioned charm in builds that like healing. There’s a few things with 2 cooldown but at that point the effectiveness when you take your action severely drops off where as the 3 cooldown pets all start with decent effectiveness. There’s a high likelihood that they just stay around. What are you getting foxee every run to have a better buffing target?
@@MegaHuntress I mean balance is usually initially a side grade that makes your unit scale better with later charms so it’s eventually a upgrade. 3 3 with 3 cooldown is a decent base to start upgrading ( afterall upgrading your pet can be perfectly sufficient for primary damage and that’s snoof’s stats ) it’s usually not really necessary though because you wanna stack balance and then add even more charms and you can usually just find something worth putting the other charms in but if you have it worth considering when you get to a shop and buy a bunch of charms once you got all the charms you will buy if you should put balance on first. Waiting to put balance on until you get other charms ( and perhaps something better to upgrade) makes it a lot better. It’s rarely the right call to immediately put it on but quite often it can be the right call after buying 3 charms at a shop. And I’m not saying snoof’s the only or even the best source of damage for defeating foes there is certainly plenty of valid ways to build a deck. But buffing the pet you chose to start with is always an option and if you were to try to do a win streak it’d probably have your pets being very impactful in a lot of them considering they are something that’s consistently there. Like at least 30 percent of my wins are largely pet based with another 30 percent being based on upgrading the scaling hammers the clunk masters start with. When your starting deck cards are sufficient win cons when upgraded late game it makes things a lot more consistent.
Fun fact: at the shop, if there is a card you can't quite afford but really want, try clicking it a couple times. There is a chance the shopkeeper will get annoyed with you, just take the money you have and give you the card.

The true sign of a good roguelike: where the same decision is gamebreaking on some runs but run ruining on others
in reto's case he reduced the countdown by 3 and gained 3 attack, which 'stats wise' is a net 1 more stats, though of course stats dont hold the same value
another very big distinction between both runs is that reto's deck was based on summoning and flooding the board which made the hero relatively safe and olexa refused to do any form of positioning whatsoever
reto also picked the +4 max hp item which all things considered is a wise move to do in such situation
@@galmenz6118 Don't forget to mention that retro's leader summons a beepop when attacking, by setting the counter to 3 he made beepops spawn much faster

I just finished this fight for the first time before watching this video, watching you scramble and run everything down without looking at the Jailer gave me a big "Oh no".
A big consideration for the next time you reach the Heart of the Storm. Unmovable is active even in the very first turn when setting down your leader and crowned cards. You have to be VERY mindful before putting cards down.
Little break down in the beep summons, you’ll character will always move back if they can then up or down after.
Only exception to that rule is when a target dies in the same turn you summon moving you forward, this is because the beep is summoned at your location.
I’ve played 11 hours so far, have yet to win a single run. I’ve seen the last boss once mind you. This game is brutal, and I love it. You make it look so effortless haha
9hrs in and I've only won twice... Some of the fights are just unwinnable...
I'm so confused as to how people struggle with this game. There are a lot more roguelite/roguelike that I've found to be a lot more difficult. Reading the reviews i thought wildfrost was gonna be impossible, but it's not even that hard? Even NL (northernlion) who's generally not that good at turn-based strategy managed to beat it once on the 2nd try

@@Retromation you're right LOL, i miss remembered his run. I remembered he got a great nut build on his 2nd run that my brain just immediately assumed that he won even tho he's not.
i think the game is hard and fun too. Only won once and i’ve basically restricted myself to having to go Clunkmasters for ink cards because i gave my leader a recycle charm. i beat the frost guardian and he possessed my leader. now whenever this possessed frost guardian attacks the game freezes because he has recycle (since recycle needs junk and enemies don’t exactly have items, game can’t comprehend what to do i guess). If i ink him the game doesn’t freeze upon his attack though. Adds more challenge and i dunno whether i’m ready to face this challenge or suffer with this challenge
update: funnily enough after posting this comment, my next game i was able to beat the boss. kind of makes me consider giving one of my allies recycle again. this games too fun for its own good
Managed to create a 91 health 61 attack Monch with 5 cooldown and 3 frenzy. to do it you need some good charm luck (for frenzy) plus Chikichi with the cloning mask.
I had 2 cloning masks, both with firing off twice before they consumed. Was hilarious. I would get my Monch nice and fat, then clone him with a mask, he would then eat himself twice, get super buff, then I’d do it again few turns later. Guy was a beast XD
that 200 iq moment with the vase though… shame it didn’t work. thanks for the vids man ❤❤
So, I would suggest for the end boss: Either have a main character that applies ink or get a gnome because they have the ink for starting items (I believe? can't remember) because then you can straight up negate the "unmovable" quirk. Also gotta crown the ink card so you can put it straight away. Bonus if you can have a charm that adds more ink effect turns.
Man he keeps making more broken teams and then pained trying to beat it next episode.
I think that's the appeal of the game... trying to improve on what you learned to beat up your past self
Definitely not a fan of unmovable in that last fight, especially on 90 hp body. It always annoys me when final boss just takes one of core mechanics without any obvious counterplay, still great run.
Doesnt the vase also worked for items? You could've used it on the juice for double the health boost

26:50 sacrifice jun jun with groff on the bottom row and beepop up top. this lets beepop die in top row to kill the top two units, while groff procs first to kill the bottom two giving you a 4x combo

Quick question, how do you even beat a run Reto? You make this game look too easy. Meanwhile I had a pretty good run I lost with 16 base hero HP. And here you are with Balance Charm hero making it work! How do you do these things!?
Also, the first boss you never find? I seem to exclusively only fight that one. Seen 1 Bamboozle ever in about 10 runs so far.
I'm having the exact same issue haha, @Retromation makes it look oh so simple but here i am on run 16ish barely moving past the caverns while getting my ass handed to me consistently, extremely fun but soul crushing at times
@@Josephgb20 I think to be more accurate, it should be "soul crushing, but extremely fun at times" lol.
But for real, there's a lot going on and idk how he keeps it straight in his brain. Because most of my lost runs (no successes as of yet) are still that 'oh crap I messed up' moment. Not as much 'this is BS how could I ever?!'. The BS moments do exist, but fewer than I expected. Which is great. Until I just... forget Barrage exists, or that Shroom will keep ticking, its not 1 time damage, etc. Just so much information on every board to keep up with and some VERY stupid losses that could have been avoided by being awake. Loving every minute of it. Even the dumb minutes where I lose.
@@Nobody8844-ze1je I hate when an enemy unit is in front the countdown counter of another unit and I get wrecked because I didn't see it haha it has happened more times than I'd like to admit; also, fck teeth, is the bane of my existence so far but I cannot stop playing this game
@@Josephgb20 hahaha I actually lost my last run I played last night due to this. Inspecting the card helps, but I didn't do that. So big acorn boi shielded his top buddy's countdown and messed me up. Twice. When I didn't learn from the first one, that's how I knew it was time for bed lol. And I have, so far, died every time I reach the bit with Teeth status. If I get the other path, I at least have a shot. Its hard for sure, but I feel like other clans outside the first one deal with it a bit better.
Playing cooountless rouge-like games every day all year long likely helps make his brain more malleable towards this game genre & even then he can stumble at times 🤣

Wonder if that was due to the Difficulty "charm" you chose when starting the game. It truly was a brutal ending XD As for the Crab fight, maybe you could have accelerated summons just sacrifice them off and double ping the invisibility shields off sooner with Gruff. Loving the small lore like with the vase and other random events/things that keep occurring!

I kept hoping he would use the lumin vase on the Sunburst Tootoo making it cool down 4. Combine with Noomlin and you have a free turn every time you pull that card.
In the next video I would like to see the clunkmasters again because we didn’t see much of the clunkmaster companions and I think the ink might help with the “FINAL” final boss. Snow might also be a good call.
It looks like you can only double 1 character at a time with the Lumin Vase. At 1:09:09 you doubled the Beepop then you doubled Groff and the Beepop lost the double at 1:09:28
Indeed. Hovering over a card with a keyword ability explicitly describes the ability and what (other than Ink) will remove it. The buff The Lumin Vase applies (Lumin) states it doubles all numeric values on abilities of a card, but that it only remains until Lumin is applied to another card.

I may have missed it, but what exactly triggered the "true" final boss fight at the end? Is it just beating the "boss" enough times or did something in particular get unlocked or happen during this run?
Pretty sure it's by having all three challenge bells active at the start, going to the glowing shop to buy the broken vase, then the glowing treasure spot to pick up the item to repair it. I'm pretty sure having the repaired vase on you is what unlocks the final fight.

not so much the "summon to your enemy" cards though, i still have to try that but they seem iffy imo
@@galmenz6118 if you keep the dagger most of the summon hostile cards are lesser threats then what the game use. And even buff you like pon pon giving you a ton aoe damage or leach just stealing the hp of all units and putting it on a weak attacker.

Unless it's very poorly worded and it just means it unlocks the 4th boss.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole video that was some intense run. but it sad that many fights seem to built to counter you so hard that you don't even stand a chance if you came to them with the wrong deck. and the final one was just disgusting like you should have some god-like deck to have a small chance to win.

@@a0m1n3g4 nah that would actually be useful. The way i've heard people say you should play that card is by crowning it and crowning some random ally you don't mind getting killed, so you play the ally then the soulbound skull then the leader. It seems a whole lot of work just for the sake of instakilling a single enemy. Outside of memeing the regular final boss's first part i can't see it being overwhelmingly useful honestly.

How in the 7 Hells is tarblade ANY good? 3 card slots for at MOST 5 (3 on first use, 2 on second, 0 on third) damage? seems awful. what am i missing?
They're a different flavor of the 2 base dmg cards which may provide more reach quicker at the cost of inconsistency. Depending on what your deck is going to do or who you're up against getting a quick 3 or 4 damage from hand after a re-draw could be crucial to kill off a dangerous enemy unit. Since it's a basic card I don't believe it's meant to compete against the 3 dmg/heal berry sword or other things.

I'm done with this game I had my best run today and almost finished all the acts then on the last boss my deck would not load I could hear the animation of the cards being drawn but there is no visualization and nowhere to click
