This takes me back to the good old days of British Railways with slam door individual compartments and those springy bouncy up and down seats were you could nod off on your journey home after a hard day at the office, Happy Days.🥴️
The fact that this is uploaded on my birthday gives me an inexplicable sense of delight. There's nothing more I love in this world than travelling with a train. There's something just so... surreal about it, in the most tranquil of ways. My only problem is that I'm supposed to get off somewhere and that's unfortunate
Platform 5 at Connolly Station, seen from Platform 6, I think. I get the train home from work at Platform 5, but it's years since I've been on one of those carriages. I kind of miss them, though. They had character, decent tables, and roomier seats, but the heating often didn't work or a hose would break somewhere and you'd end up with a carriage full of steam. The modern trains are more reliable, but a bit soul-less.
Those trains are from Ireland in the old days. They belong to CIÉ railway company. The background is either Dublin or Mullingar. I remember those buildings in the background while I travelled inside those trains. Those trains were more comfortable than today's models. Pity, Irish government traded off those trains to India. 😟
RPSI own these carriages, known as "Cravens" as they were built by Cravens in the 60s. Still in public use today on our steam and diesel hauled trains out of Dublin. www.steamtrainsireland.com
the govt really fucked up the rail system here, not that they dont fuck up everything they get involved in anyways, but the railway up to the early 2000's was the best anywhere nd so nostalgic, and of course it was cheap and people actually looked forwaard to rail travel
Hey, I want to use this sound for a project. Would you be willing to send me the original audio file? I'm happy to credit you and put a link to your channel when in my project.
Cruising the Waterways I worked on the permanent way when these black and orange ones were the norm. the trains then used to to belt along .were the going faster than these ones one the wexford line now.

As a little boy of 6 in 1967 onwards my family used to take the Sleeper from Arbroath to Euston and I loved the sound of the tracks.
Me too! 🥲

I love sleeping on trains because of the noise and dislike the rocking motion...this is perfect!

always remember the steam heating being toasty! Last ride I had in a Cravens was 2005. Rather miss those carriages.
I remember one of the best train journeys in old open windows stock Dublin to Belfast - fresh coastal air and spacious comfort.
A bit?!!!! :D
Mnemonic has never done that to him
The weather looks great on knnkkknnkkknnknnkkkkknnkkkkkkkkkkknkkknnkn

I think the train is at Connolly Station platform 5. Notice the overhead DART wires and the ornate tower from Connolly.
Overhead power cables are for DART service so not Mullingar, I'd suspect Dublin Connolly and one of the Historic Train runs with old rolling stock.

It's dublin connolly Station platform 5 where the Dublin to rosslare train usually leaves from
When I've exhausted all my scrolling this is the last stop 😴

What do mean by the Indian ones? Is the noise much different? Is it a video here?

You forgot the burps, farts, snoring and the crying babies.

And the idiot with the i-pod and the constant Britney Spears 'tik tikka tik tik, tik tikka tik tik' turned up full blast for the entire journey.
