Hi guys! Here is a quick painting tutorial video for my Wizard breastplate from Diablo 3. It took about 4.5 hours to paint the breastplate and I recorded every step for you!
Sorry that there is no face and voice this time (was in a hurry and still wanted to make this video for you). However I included English subtitles to explain a bit more! Hope it helps!
If you want to know anything else, just leave me a comment! :)

Your -paint slave- husband did a good job! :D
Kamui did all the making , he did all of the painting .....
Cow Moo
I doubt that are Kamuis hairy arms ;)
TheFlauschig she did create the actual thing, and he painted it lol
I really enjoy watching you paint, your style is very similar to my own so watching you paint gives me lots of ideas. It's like I told you at comic con in SLC I really admire your painting style. I learned alot by watching you aswell both of you. Please keep doing videos like these, they are great to watch voice or none, your attention to detail and overall designs are fantastic and put me to shame, but it's threw watching someone who's a master that we learn the most. If it wasn't for Kamui I wouldn't even use worbla. Seeing all these different mediums really helps me build better and greater things. So I thank you and again please keep these up.
I would love it if you could go start to finish with a project so us beginners could follow along step by step. 😁
I only have a boyfriend and not a husband is its still possible to do this tutorial? haha thank you so much for all your tutorials Kamui and Mr.Kamui!!
Instructions unclear husband stuck in the microwave
Fantastic, thanks so much! Can Benni make more painting videos, please?
This is gorgeous! can't believe I only just discovered you... I'm not a real cosplayer, but like to dress up as existing characters for Halloween. Thank you so much for all your tutorials. I love it!
Your videos are so relaxing to watch & satisfying!
I should probably try that painting method (with the highlight lines) for myself. I just really like the look of it on your armor pieces :P
So cool :D Your husband is a master of painting kamui!! hehe
Absolutely amazing! Again, thank you for the tutorials, these will be in my favourite videos for a while :)
This was kind of mesmerizing to watch, also very useful
wonderful! I love the details at 4:50 but the whole piece is epic and beautiful and great to say you made it by hand.

I hope my cosplays will be as good as yours one day !!
AWESOME!!! =D Thank you so much!!!!!
Awesome Video! very easy to understand. I was wondering if you where going to do a post or video about how you prime your work? I've used gesso and paint filler and I still can't get a smooth finish when I sand. Do you use your dremel to get it really smooth?
hahahahahah in the final , that's true!!! and you're so pretty :) !!
How do you seal the paint in so it don´t damage if you scratch it?
Hi! I was wondering, can you tell me the things I need to get for making a cosplay? I want to go full out for Otakon next year.
Danke entlch sehe ich wie man das ordentlich mach. Ich hatte solche prbleme mit den Gold Farben.
Could you also mention the painting brands you use? For the paint itself. Thhaaannkks!
Fixierst du die Farbe irgendwie mit einem Überlack oder einfach nur gut austrocknen lassen? :)
The dabbing effect is how i paintXD well at elast ive got that down!
Hihihihi erst mal "The Evil Within" im Hintergrund x'D :D 1:50
You're watching Sherlock!!!!!! :3
have you ever tried to use an airbrush or a sponge for "drybrushing" the lighter colours? It might be faster to apply the colour but the texture would probably be a little different.
This video was from several years ago. They've definitely gotten an airbrush and improved their painting techniques :D
What brand of varnish do you use to finish your armor pieces? There are so many brands and choices.. and types with different prices.
Aaaaaaaand.. another cool video! Thanks for that! Can you recommend any cool acrylic paints.. maybe provide a link.. that would be awesome! 🤗
Liquitex heavy body are definitely the best, even if a bit more expensive: amzn.to/2xBZCSy
KamuiCosplay thank you so much!
What color did you use for the fine detail lines? Is it pure white? or gold mixed with white?
What is the name of the song used in this video?
Did you water down your woodglue or what brand do you use? I bought the Elmer's stuff in the squeeze bottle, and it's texture. /:
Dallas Pierce That's weird. I use the Elmer Wood Glue and it's perfectly smooth. You could other wood glues from your local Home Depot or Hardware store.
Can you show how you made the whole costumes please, please ... I need a lot of help here.. I need to make this costume ASAP.. 🙏🙏🙏
Could you recommend a worbla-style material that is easy to mold and paint, but is very lightweight? I've never handled worbla, but somehow I've assumed it's not light as a feather :P How much does the piece you're painting there weigh?
I don't want it to contain carbon fiber as the use would be a radio controlled quadcopter shell and CF causes interferences :P
Absolutely amazed by all your costumes and worbla-wizardry! Thanks!
Just saying, I've used worbla too and it is actually surprisingly light. :)
CissyDella Hmm, might have to test it out! Just looking for something as light as possible that doesn't break my piggy bank. Thanks! :)
No problem! I could recommend one store called mycostumes.de, I bought mine from there. They also have sample set of thermoplastic materials for 8€, there is piece of worbla's finest art, cobracast and worbla's deco art. :)
CissyDella I'll be sure to check that out. Thanks! Have a creative weekend!
Esa Edvik the 150cm² worbla sheet wights about 1-2 kg.Depending on how thick you make your piece that lasts you for aprox. half a costume (That depends what you cosplay). If you have a full bodyarmor I'd recomend to use a manequinn and clay as your base and then use some latex resin to cast that or the slightly cheaper method, you use some cabon or glass fiber. That is by far the messiest method though!
How come it doesn't have obvious brush strokes? Is it because of the paint brand you used?
Dont you need some finishing spray after you paint it? If yes, what spray is it?
+Tjandralala We use either spray varnish or brush on varnish :)
Thanks for the info. Oh and one more thing, what if I make a shape from a clap, let it dry, and then mould hot worbla onto it, does it work as well?
what is the name of the song?
How long do you wait between painting different shade colours?
This is late but acrylics usually dry REALLY fast. Half the time by the time I'm done with one coat on a large piece, I can start at the beginning again.
It's amazing how something 3d can end up looking almost flat without giving it fake shadows and highlights. How that works I don't understand and I have been studying art for quiet a while.
Well if you paint it in only one color than it's bound to look flat because it kind brings everything on the same level. :) In nature it's hard to find anything that's only one color. It's always a mixture of many colors and gradients so it just looks wrong to the human eye if something has only one color.
KamuiCosplay thank you for clearing that up :)!
Kamui, what do you use as base for acrylic paint?
She mainly uses woodglue as far as I know. A few layers all over the whole piece and you're good to go.
thanks, but I live in Italy and I cant understand what is wood glue xD Do you have a photo or an online store where I can buy it?
CUTIEwhimsy Woodglue is just white glue that hardens transparent. You can find it on amazon in various versions. Your local hardwarestore should have this stuff too :) Besides that, it's probably cheaper in hardwarestores. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links, sorry
Thank you :)
CUTIEwhimsy
you're welcome :)
Wie hast du die steine gemacht? :D
hi kamui can i have the list of the acrylic colors that you used, thank you....
We mainly use acrylic colors from 'Amsterdam' and 'Reeves'.
I have the problem with acrylics that when I paint ontop of a dark layer, when dried the lighter layers are dark aswell! :o
Wait for the dark layers to dry a bit so they don't blend as much
Do you have a how to , tutorial of making this breastplate? In any of your books ? As I would love to try and make one
Here is a tutorial for it on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/oA2uumZplR8/v-deo.html
dab dab dab dab
you can make the suit complete?
Which suit?
which gesso did you used? Mine is not this texture :/
+Krystina Rhéaume It's not a gesso! It's wood glue)
+BangBang Yozhik a thanks :P but since my wood glue didnt do this beautiful job! I buy highter paint quality and just with this i see a dig difference
+Krystina Rhéaume wood glue much better than gesso, because it's cheaper and you need to apply only 5-6 layers with wood glue. This method does not have to be sanded. But if you have Black Worbla, you need to apply only 2-3 layers with wood glue.
+BangBang Yozhik aaah ok thanks :)
qué material has utilizado para hacer la coraza?
Worbla
+GaaSaku123 graciasss
+Alicia Loiti De nada :) Hay diferentes tipos de Worbla. Es un material muy bueno aunque es costoso.
+GaaSaku123 ya ya, he investigado un poco. Gracias d todos modos
What I don't understand is how you'll make the breastplate stay on your body. I've yet to find a video or tutorial explaining that.
+Rene St.pierre D-rings, velcro and straps! :)
What's the name of this song??
Yeah what song is this?
