    Hi guys! Here is a quick painting tutorial video for my Wizard breastplate from Diablo 3. It took about 4.5 hours to paint the breastplate and I recorded every step for you!
    Sorry that there is no face and voice this time (was in a hurry and still wanted to make this video for you). However I included English subtitles to explain a bit more! Hope it helps!
    If you want to know anything else, just leave me a comment! :)

    I really enjoy watching you paint, your style is very similar to my own so watching you paint gives me lots of ideas. It's like I told you at comic con in SLC I really admire your painting style. I learned alot by watching you aswell both of you. Please keep doing videos like these, they are great to watch voice or none, your attention to detail and overall designs are fantastic and put me to shame, but it's threw watching someone who's a master that we learn the most. If it wasn't for Kamui I wouldn't even use worbla. Seeing all these different mediums really helps me build better and greater things. So I thank you and again please keep these up.

    Awesome Video! very easy to understand. I was wondering if you where going to do a post or video about how you prime your work? I've used gesso and paint filler and I still can't get a smooth finish when I sand. Do you use your dremel to get it really smooth?

    have you ever tried to use an airbrush or a sponge for "drybrushing" the lighter colours? It might be faster to apply the colour but the texture would probably be a little different.

    Did you water down your woodglue or what brand do you use? I bought the Elmer's stuff in the squeeze bottle, and it's texture. /:

      Dallas Pierce That's weird. I use the Elmer Wood Glue and it's perfectly smooth. You could other wood glues from your local Home Depot or Hardware store.

    Could you recommend a worbla-style material that is easy to mold and paint, but is very lightweight? I've never handled worbla, but somehow I've assumed it's not light as a feather :P How much does the piece you're painting there weigh?
    I don't want it to contain carbon fiber as the use would be a radio controlled quadcopter shell and CF causes interferences :P
    Absolutely amazed by all your costumes and worbla-wizardry! Thanks!

      No problem! I could recommend one store called mycostumes.de, I bought mine from there. They also have sample set of thermoplastic materials for 8€, there is piece of worbla's finest art, cobracast and worbla's deco art. :)

      Esa Edvik the 150cm² worbla sheet wights about 1-2 kg.Depending on how thick you make your piece that lasts you for aprox. half a costume (That depends what you cosplay). If you have a full bodyarmor I'd recomend to use a manequinn and clay as your base and then use some latex resin to cast that or the slightly cheaper method, you use some cabon or glass fiber. That is by far the messiest method though!

    How come it doesn't have obvious brush strokes? Is it because of the paint brand you used?

  • @BaileyandUs

    • @KamuiCosplay

      +Tjandralala We use either spray varnish or brush on varnish :)

    • @BaileyandUs

      Thanks for the info. Oh and one more thing, what if I make a shape from a clap, let it dry, and then mould hot worbla onto it, does it work as well?

      This is late but acrylics usually dry REALLY fast. Half the time by the time I'm done with one coat on a large piece, I can start at the beginning again.

  • @kats5269

    It's amazing how something 3d can end up looking almost flat without giving it fake shadows and highlights. How that works I don't understand and I have been studying art for quiet a while.

    • @KamuiCosplay
      @KamuiCosplay  6 років тому +1

      Well if you paint it in only one color than it's bound to look flat because it kind brings everything on the same level. :) In nature it's hard to find anything that's only one color. It's always a mixture of many colors and gradients so it just looks wrong to the human eye if something has only one color.

    • @Xwtz
      @Xwtz 9 років тому +1

      She mainly uses woodglue as far as I know. A few layers all over the whole piece and you're good to go.

    • @HitomiPukurin
      @HitomiPukurin 9 років тому

      thanks, but I live in Italy and I cant understand what is wood glue xD Do you have a photo or an online store where I can buy it?

    • @Xwtz
      @Xwtz 9 років тому

      CUTIEwhimsy Woodglue is just white glue that hardens transparent. You can find it on amazon in various versions. Your local hardwarestore should have this stuff too :) Besides that, it's probably cheaper in hardwarestores. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links, sorry

      +Krystina Rhéaume wood glue much better than gesso, because it's cheaper and you need to apply only 5-6 layers with wood glue. This method does not have to be sanded. But if you have Black Worbla, you need to apply only 2-3 layers with wood glue.
