  • As seen during PlaidFX Con 2020!
Join me as I walk through how to create an armored breastplate out of EVA foam from start to finish. We'll be learning how to:
    1) Create a breastplate pattern from scratch
    2) Build the breastplate from EVA foam
    3) Prime and paint the breastplate
    4) Add decoration and weathering

This is so clear! I am going to stick this in my costume class as a project option for my students. They get to pick projects most weeks between options that teach similar skills. I've been looking for some foam armor piece tutorials and this is so straightforward it would be really close to impossible to get confused (as beginning students do). Thanks so much for posting this terrific resource!

@@cocoasugarcosplay8078 Thank YOU for making a succinct, clear video that anyone can understand and follow, that doesn't use a lot of difficult or insanely expensive to find stuff, and which fits into that sweet spot between total beginner and medium level project. So many tutorials are either way too basic and boring for a beginning college student to want to do, or too advanced for them to be able to handle. It also helps that you look like one of my college students, instead of being (like me) as old as their grandmother.

What do you use to heat eva foam? And the object to round the ends? Thank you

    • @cocoasugarcosplay8078

I use a heat gun normally to heat mine, and a dremmel sander to round out the ends ☺️👍🏾
