If you have to hand paint items a sponge saving it on gives you better coverage.

Helloooooo:) so I saw your little series about armor and found it very helpful and simple. You are very good at making these tutorials. The only thing I have to say is that my art teacher said that it can be a bit dangerous to use rub and buff with your bare skin. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but you can always buy a bunch of small sponges that work wonders with rub and buff:)

I'm so obsessed with worbla it's stupid. Used it for the very first time last year without any experience with it whatsoever and made my absolute favorite Halloween costume of all time. so were you able to work with your worbla around your cockatiel? I ask because I keep a parotlet in my work space :)
I really enjoyed your tutorial, but I used a few coats of paint primer on my worbla and started to sand my stuff and it started to tear a little bit and it didn't appear smooth. It looked as if I was ruining the surface. I used a finer strip of sandpaper and I had similar results. I was trying to avoid applying the many coats of gesso because of time constraints. Am I doing something wrong? I must be. lol

If you rub your fingers onto a magic eraser, it will remove all the rub'n'buff from your skin :)
I'm finally ready to paint! Ordered myself some rub n buff because of this video, but I wanted to ask your opinion - I am making armor that is gold and white.. Do you think I can still rub n buff first, and then paint over it with white paint? Should I prime full white and then rub n buff carefully? Thanks so much :)
Kellax Productions Thank you so much! :D I spent a solid two hours sanding 6 pieces, and they are feeling pretty awesomely smooth. It's my first cosplay, so I'm excited to finally see color soon :)) You're so fun to watch btw, so thanks again all around!
Hey, love your tutorial. Just not sure what I'm doing wrong. After I put layers of gesso onto my armor and sanded it, bits of the gesso comes off to a point where I can see the worbla again. Did I not put enough layers? Is it normal for it to flake off?
Heather Q. Agoncillo the gesso is very thin and you cannot sand very hard.
+Heather Q. Agoncillo i would also give the Gesso a full 24 hours at least before sanding if it isn't cured then it can clump off
+Heather Q. Agoncillo You need to apply at least 4 coats of gesso. As Ax said, gesso is thin, so maybe you should try sand with not as much pressure. :)
I didn't catch what tool you are using to sand down your primed armour at 2:16. How is it called?
