She definitely seems like the Leo type, naturally protecting her sibling from the more natural jerk type in Uno. Odyn is a massive unit, almost seems like the Mikey type but more lazy instead of playful. Yi is almost certainly the Donnie type since she’s into fixing things. Can’t wait to see their weapons.

One thing I caught that in surprised no one noticed: Uno doesn't have pupils! If you look at the art for his brother and sisters, you can see they have irises with different color,for their eyes. But Unos is a pale silver with no discernable iris. Could be because of his face being scrunched and small, but imagine if Uno is actually blind! Also side note: their names ALL mean "one" in different languages! Uno is obviously Spanish, but Odyn is Russian, Yi is chinese,and Moha is Swahili! My guess is April sees all of them as her #1 Tbh, a next generation tmnt is always fun. I mare my own next gen tmnt ocs. One thing I found funny is that I noticed Yi looks alot like my oc, Tanta, who was designed as a blackknobbed sawback,especially the spots and stripes!

Honestly while I’m sad that the turtles are gone from this series, but it’s nice to see that their legacy will live on in these new turtles. Their probably gonna have different weapons, different personalities and different skill sets. Not to mention that these turtles are boys and girls and different species. I wonder what these turtles will be like in terms of roles.

I think Uno can actually change colors. In that panel, before April breaks their fight, we can see at first him in full white with the black stripe on his head. Than, we see him half in dark gray and half in white, mid-change. And at the end of the page, he is fully dark grey and the stripe on his head has become white. It seems he changes when he gets angry at Moja (so maybe whenever he feels a strong emotion)
Yeah, I guess they're exploring with further mutation features like abnormal skin color changes (including glow in the dark), enhanced eyesight, capability to grow longer claws, etc
Just from his size alone, I'm getting the impression that Odyn is a snapping turtle. Which could be a similar case for Moja when you consider the beak. Has it been confirmed that they are blood related? Or are they more of an adoption case? That aside, Odyn the gentle giant is definitely the one I'm interested in. Would love to see what happens when you piss him off.
Yeah, its looking like they are different Turtle species. If they were all blood related, it would be hard for people to believe the drastic differences in their appearances. And yeah I also think I'm gonna like Odyn the most too because I'll relate to him the most. Gentle Giant describes me to a T as well, and my Father would constantly say "God help the poor soul who pisses you off son". Naturally at first I thought this was a joke when I was younger. And then I got in my first fight in High School. It wasn't pretty for him, and it took a lot of bullying and pestering just for me to want to fight him.
the original TMNT were red eared sliders a child pets so having the next generation be different types of turtle makes sense due to the fact of the setting pet turtles might be hard to get a hold of in a post apocalyptic police state
There is the common snapping turtle, and a Alligator Snapping turtle. I'm sure there is more, but the reason I mentioned those two is 1 is bigger, and has a longer neck for extended reach, and the smaller one has a smaller neck. Could be a case like that
Me personally I see Moja as the team leader. yes she seems to have a bit of a temper and similar to Raph picks fights but she does it with the hope of defending her brother. This strong sense of justice and desire to protect whoever she cares about would most likely translate into a strong leader as she got older. I believe this is hinted at by the concept art we got showing moja looking at Uno who seems to be leaning away from the group. I believe that while Uno is the most naturally gifted of his siblings he will inevitably become a bit of a lone wolf. Also his skill only seems to be matched by his ego, thus making Moja a better fitting leader.
Uno: Green Bandanna, has tonfa Odyn: Teal Bandanna, has gauntlets with spikes Yi: Black Bandanna, has a sythe Moja: Yellow Bandanna, has a grappling hook (like mikey did in the 88 cartoon sometimes)

For weapons, I'd like to see them have a completely new set from before. I did some looking around and found that most of the previous weapons were from Okinawa except for Leo's katana (which were sometimes not actually katana, but I digress.) So, here's my suggestions: Uno: Hookswords. He wants to be the leader, Leo had swords, so Uno gets swords. They are flashy and could make for some fun fight scenes. Also, they aren't Okinawan, so that could show some distance from his siblings. Moja: Kama. She gets a pair of curved scythes which could either be similar to Raph's paired sai or Leo's curved swords to show she kind of walks between the two. I think they would make a great counterpoint to Uno's weapon. Oja: Tinbe-Rochin. It's a shield and short spear. He seems like a gentle giant, so a more defensive weapon might suit him. As a bonus, the shields were often made of turtle shells. Yi: Eku. It's essentially an oar with a longer paddle. If Yi is going to be the "techie", I say give her a weapon similar to Don's bo. Plus, it's an unusual weapon, maybe it'll fit her personality.

That always bothered me even when I was young. Leo really doesn't carry Katanas a large majority of the time when portrayed. He's using Ninjatō swords which are the shorter straight bladed swords that resembled Wakizashi. Which was what became associated with Ninjas in modern times. Even though no records of them actual using it exists and most Historical things about Ninjas has them not using swords.

I agree with the comments I've seen about all the turtles wearing the same colored bandana. They're different species of turtles so this could absolutely work, plus it's a nice recall to the original group. I also think Moja could be a good leader. Uno seems more technically skilled but lacking teamwork. As for weapons, I'd love to see a feathered Qiang spear (something like the train fight scene in the Drunken Master movie). Hookswords (Mortal Kombat's Kabal), bagua zhang crescent moon knives , and eku (oar looking paddle) would be cool too. Maybe a bow with tactical arrows for support (smoke, flashbangs, stuns, etc)?
Yeah, those weapons are very good choices. Maybe they could also have some weapons like: baseball bat, mallet, axe, bowie knife, crowbar, slingshot, etc
I like the new team and am sad about the original team being gone. I think this is a good start in passing the torch down to a new generation but never forgetting the originals. Thanks for the breakdown, I'll be ordering this new Roninverse physical comic book(s) for sure.

It's honestly so cool to see different turtle species as siblings just like in Rise of the TMNT, and they're comprised of two boys and two girls. I hope these new turtles honor the legacy done by our four favorite brothers. 💙💜❤🧡
Moja is my fav I can already tell!! She seems like the one to hold the team together! I like that she is “red” too because I always saw raph as more the leader when it comes down to it, kinda the fiber of the team
I feel like they may learn to master each weapon like Mikey eventually did but then focus on one each. I reckon besides the main 4 weapons, Odyn could use a massive axe, Uno could use double spiked mallets, Moja could use a spear that has a sai fused to it rather than a simple blade and Yi could use a vast range of weapons including a bow with arrows, a heavy duty slingshot or a tessen (callback to 2012 April) and they could all wear black eye masks with hoods and have the ends of their masks dyed with each of the turtles' colours (Yi/Purple, Odyn/Orange, Uno/Blue or Red, Moja/Blue or Red) this would be amazing imo but verrrry unrealistic tbh. Uno gives me 2007 tmnt leo with the cockiness which is cool, I always thought that Leo was driven and nuts. Yi I hope is going to end up tech savvy when she's older and give the team a Donatello. Moja is just amazing and can pull off confronting raph really well. Odyn is so cute I could see him being big and loveable and kind to the team but when on his bad side he's wild. I feel they might be more fusions of two turtles rather than direct copies which could play into Casey’s struggle in teaching them as they are not exactly like the predecessors she heard about growing up.
Close to what I was thinking! I also think it would be Yi/Purple Odyn/Orange Uno/Blue and Moja/Red. I just feel like Uno has Leo condescending attitude and Moja is more like Ralphs fiery spirit but with a outright protective side which Ralph had, but just seemed to hide it behind a sour demeanor.
I feel Odyn might either wield some larger weapon, like a Kanabō or maybe a Nagamaki, though at the same time he may instead go the other direction and give him a pair of specialist Tonfa to allow him to really apply his strength and size in battle, while giving him even more of a reach.
I think the opportunity to have them all wear the same colors should be taken. They are each so unique that one color like the original TMNT wore, would pull it off. If not i would love to see the original TMNT colors kind in a tie dye pattern for all to wear.

Plus they will never have them all wear the same colour when it basically reduces their merchandise opportunities by four times, and when it comes down to it everything is about the bottom line.

Seems that Uno will be more a Raphael, just more jerkish. Moja feels like a combo of Leo and Mikey in caring. Yi is also a fusion of Mikey and Don, being both cheerful and caring and tech Odyn appears not to have a combo of any other but seems to Be modeled after a gentle giant, hopefully he is most pacifistic and kind Otherwise I dread what surprises these turtles will Have given they are new turtles, but I do like where they are going
Out of curiosty where do you see a bit of Mikey in Moja? Moja feels more like a combo of Leo and Raph to me, she has Raph's anger with Leo's personality. Odyn has traits similar to that of Mikey and maybe Slash (Slash is a bit of a stretch) no matter the interpretation Mikey was always the more gentle and pacifistic of the main turtles whether it be 2003, 2012, Image, IDW, and so on (not to mention 2012 was a very hungry just like Odyn).

I think Moja is going to be more Leo like than Raph like. When Uno bullied Odyn she was quick to step in, fiery temper like Raph but will use it to do the right thing like Leo. It's because of that I believe she's going to be the leader of the group. Uno seems to be described as the cockiest, the most skilled, but because of his antagonistic nature he is going to be more of a loose cannon. And is anyone else noticing Uno is the only one with seemingly no iris' in his eyes? Maybe the reason he is so mean is because he is blind. And was bullying Odyn because of his lazyness towards training? Might be a stretch, just feels weird how we haven't seen his.
Part of me wishes it was Mikey who would take on the role of Splinter. Seeing him Arc from the lovable goof, to the wounded warrior, and then become their father/sensei and get a piece of what he lost would of been kinda nice. But this is IDW and they don’t like to pull their punches.
The patterns on the new turtles look like the designers may be going in a different direction and might forego the masks, instead giving them other accessories that compliment their personalities and styles ala the more recent ninja turtles movies. Id love it if they call back the mono color masks as well maybe all of them should honor the last ronin with black masks but wear them differently for example one around the the neck one around the head or eyes etc., and then their individual gear, hoodies tactical armor and such. Really excited to see where they go with this.
I feel like Uno is gonna wear a black mask Muna is gonna wear like A pink or Purple Odyn is probably gonna wear a mask similar to the color of Venus's mask From TMNTTNM And I feel like Yi will most likely have a yellow or gold mask just given her cool yellowish gold markings she has
I think that when it comes to the masks, some turtles won’t wear them. I think there will be some struggle with some turtles, wanting to do things, the old fashion way, while other turtles May want to have a more modern spin on what we historically know about turtle lore. I can see some turtles, wanting to embrace the original four turtles and master splinter, while other turtles will feel like making their own way in life, and not wanting to live In the shadow of their origins.
Now that would make a good internal conflict before they even have their first outing in the streets. That and their adaptability and finding their strengths. I hope they struggle and not magically smooth and talented.
They seem like they are the antithesis of the original crew in a way. Leonardo was very skilled but he wasn’t prideful. Uno seems to be just as skillful but he’s definitely got an ego. Raphael was probably the most protective of brothers but he definitely picked on them. Moha seems to be similar to him in that sense but she’s not antagonizing them. Michelangelo was the most childish but he had confidence and was outgoing, Odin is definitely child like but he seems more timid and lazy. Donatello was the tech wiz but he seemed to be the most reserved out of the bunch but Yi seems like she is more bubbly and cheerful. I dig it!!!!
Hard to beat the Fab Four, but these guys are a close second place. I like each and every one of them, and I don't know anything about them yet. I can't wait to meet them!

I think it's cool that the shows and the comics influence one another, like how in this instance, RotTMNT's concept of making every turtle a separate species seems to have inspired the designs of the new turtles.
I absolutely LOVE the IDW iteration of TMNT. After reading this comic, I dug into what the origins of their names were and found that they are all different languages that depict the word for “One”. From what I read in the article, it was apparently from each of the cultures and languages that Mikey encountered before his demise. I can’t wait to see the next generation’s stories breathe even more fresh air into the legacy of TMNT! Love your channel, and Cowabunga Dude!! 🥷🐢💙❤️💜🧡
From right to left starting from the tallest I see Leo Ralph Mike And Don so maybe different shades of the turtles colors. It also seem like they took alot from Rise to make the new turtles which I honestly don't mind makes more sense to me because they're are new didnt have to change nothing and u can just build up from it.
I feel like Uno and Moja will have a similar dynamic to Raph and Leo while still being very unique, I really look forward to seeing these characters develop
I love them all. They are so cute. I am happy they chose to make two of the turtles female. Uno is my fave so far. Being a preschool teacher myself, I understand Casey's fustration with them and herself. She just wants them grasp the concepts quickly and blames herself when the training session turns into chaos. I love how "Grammy April" is like chill Casey, they are still babies. I wish this little family can live peacefully but I assume more rough times are coming since Casey really wants them become ninjas. Casey needs to go easy on herself, ease up on training them so hard and just cherish their childhood before they grow up.
I think for the color of their headbands it should be Light blue, Yellow, Black, and Maroon. As for the weapons they should have Katanas, Metal pipe taped together with Sharp Spikes, Sythe (the one shown in puss in boots 2 from the death character) and two Daggers
Well, now that there are new turtles even with names not being famous artists like their predecessors (I thought the girls were going to be called Madonna or Mona Lisa or the boys Mozart or Beethoven... something like that), I want them to use different weapons to differentiate from the originals. Maybe they can use some of the additional weapons included in the 1988 TMNT Playmates toy line, like Fist Daggers (big and small), Kama, or maybe a Ninja Bow (like the one that came with Splinter). They can also use a Kusarigama, Tekko-Kagi, Tekken, Nekode, etc. If they choose this route (which as an OG Turtles fan, I like) I want them to be unique compared to the originals.

I kinda hope that not all of them become ninjas. I think Last Ronin had a point of the turtles being drawn into battle as just kids which Mikey pointed out the same for Casey Marie. In the lost years April pointed out it’s not exactly mandatory for the new turtles to learn as Casey struggles to teach them to carry on the OG’s legacy. I think it would be interesting for her to just raise them with the choice of becoming warriors and by the end only one or two actually become ninjas

It would be interesting to make them have different martial arts skills and different weapons from the original Ninja Turtles. Let's say one of them would use a golf club, baseball bat, or hammer. Another would use bowie knives. Or maybe a battle ready gardening tool would be awesome
I hope that instead of bandannas, they do different outfits and gear. I loved the iconic old school look, and I want to like these guys, but I don't want them to be cloned personality for the sake of my nostalgia. If they're going new, lets see them be original.

I'll be honest, I think Odyn is my favorite. I think he will be the gentle giant of the group, and i like characters like that in fiction. For example: Raphael in Rise of the Tmnt and Onua in Lego Bionicle Generation 2
This is the first I've heard that there's going to be a continuum to the Last Ronin. I honestly cannot wait to get to know this new generation of Mutant Turtles ❤ As for theories on colours, I won't be surprised if they go as close as to the original four's colours - red, purple, blue and orange - so maybe sky or navy blue, a shade of pink or deep burgundy, lavender/lilac/soft purple or a deeper shade like plum or royal purple, yellow-orange or deep burnt orange. This is simply a theory, being that there are also black, white, grey, yellow, and I am sure there are shades of green that can go well with any of these turtles' skin tones.
I can already hear the outcry from people who don't know the context being like "Not my TMNT" which is something I have heard so many times. I am excited to see how this plays out, plus it means more new TMNT stuff which is always a plus.
Based on the first impression these turtles are giving me, I think these are the roles each of them are going to fulfill: Uno = Leonardo Moja = Raphael Odyn = Donatello Yi = Michelangelo
I hope they get more peculliar weapons. Given the name (yes I know they all translate to one), I think it be rad if Odyn got a tetsubo. I'd also love to see one of them use kama.
Moja - Twin Hook Swords (they are often used in a pair anyway) Odyn - Dual Tonfa Yi - Kusarigama (The chain and ball on the end being good for disarming and striking at a middle range) or Kyoketsu Shoge (Same thing with the middle range Uno is the one I am blanking on. Maybe a Naginata or a Yari (Spear) I think him using the weapon as a mix of defensive and offensive. With skillful blocks and deflections and then using the spear for fast and precise strikes to down foes.. Each would be different from the previous but with a little bit of homage to them with the swords, nunchaku , bo staff, sai weapons. Hook Swords (Swords) Yari (Bo Staff) Tonfa (Sais) (Both are non-lethal weapons or meant for defensive fighting) Kusarigama (Nunchaku) (Semi ranged and takes a lot of discipline to master)
Maybe Odyn will become the next Mikey. I say this because Mikey was also a chill guy who liked to sit around, eat pizza and play videogames. But Mikey was actually really strong and Odyn will probably be similar. All Odyn will need is a little nudge and he'll be unstoppable. Hopefully that nudge won't be tragic.

I think I hate this. I was fine with Last Ronin being a limited series exploring a “dark future” storyline, but I want it to just end. Don’t continue the same universe where all the original turtles were brutally killed. Not cool.

Someone came up with an interesting theory that the original ninja turtle weapons are based base on the opposite of their personalities. Raphael was the hothead of the group, but he uses sai which are mainly a defensive weapon. Donatello was a genius but uses the most simplest tool. Michelangelo used to be a slacker, but wields a tool that require great focus. Leonardo is the only one that wields the deadliest weapon, and as leader, he has to make the toughest choices. This is my theory on what the new turtles weapons will be Uno- a three-section staff. He’s definitely the first to go on the attack, but it’s more of a defensive weapon. Also teaches him how each section works together. Moja - a bow and arrow. She appears to be a bit hardheaded, so I thought this would be a good weapon for her. For it requires a calm mind. Also is a take charge weapon. Odyn - tessen (war fan). I know most people wouldn’t want him to wield a heavyset weapon such as a hammer or ax. I’d be OK with that as well but I think fans would be more suitable. He appears to be clumsy at first, so I thought fans would be more suitable since they require grace, especially with him being the largest of the turtles. Also made me think of that one member from the ninja tribunal in the 2003 version of TMNT. Yi - senbon (needles). This was a bit difficult, but thought it was a good match for her. She appears to be the smart one so her weapon would require some creativity. Like Donnie and his bo. Requiring inventive ways to wound or kill an opponent.
Since Odin is basically confirmed to be Michelangelo, and if they were ever to adapt this somehow, I think the perfect voice for him would be the dude who plays king shark in Harley Quinn. His voice is both intimidating and innocent at the same time.
Eastman and Laird hit in the point with this team. It would be cool that everyone had the same colored bandanas, as a reference to the original comics, but with weapons like the ones in Rise of the TMNT
I want one of them to have one of those spear chain things, almost like Scorpion from MK. Could be used violently for comics, but also, for more PG stuff, can be used to wrap around or trip up people. From left field...Ralph's Sais. I thought if we were gonna reuse a weapon, that one would be a good one or Mikeys nunchucks. Dual eskrima sticks, why not. Looks fun and easy to imagine them using it. And lastly...I forgot what it's called...but it's a sword where the handle is perpendicular to the blade and the rest of the bottom handle straps to the forearm. Great defensively, but I can't imagine trying to be on the offensive with it. I think it's be neat as well

Honestly while I’m sad that the turtles are gone from this series, but it’s nice to see that their legacy will live on in these new turtles. Their probably gonna have different weapons, different personalities and different skill sets. Not to mention that these turtles are boys and girls and different species. I wonder what these turtles will be like in terms of roles.

I think Uno can actually change colors. In that panel, before April breaks their fight, we can see at first him in full white with the black stripe on his head. Than, we see him half in dark gray and half in white, mid-change. And at the end of the page, he is fully dark grey and the stripe on his head has become white. It seems he changes when he gets angry at Moja (so maybe whenever he feels a strong emotion)
Yeah, I guess they're exploring with further mutation features like abnormal skin color changes (including glow in the dark), enhanced eyesight, capability to grow longer claws, etc
Just from his size alone, I'm getting the impression that Odyn is a snapping turtle. Which could be a similar case for Moja when you consider the beak. Has it been confirmed that they are blood related? Or are they more of an adoption case? That aside, Odyn the gentle giant is definitely the one I'm interested in. Would love to see what happens when you piss him off.

Yeah, its looking like they are different Turtle species. If they were all blood related, it would be hard for people to believe the drastic differences in their appearances. And yeah I also think I'm gonna like Odyn the most too because I'll relate to him the most. Gentle Giant describes me to a T as well, and my Father would constantly say "God help the poor soul who pisses you off son". Naturally at first I thought this was a joke when I was younger. And then I got in my first fight in High School. It wasn't pretty for him, and it took a lot of bullying and pestering just for me to want to fight him.

the original TMNT were red eared sliders a child pets so having the next generation be different types of turtle makes sense due to the fact of the setting pet turtles might be hard to get a hold of in a post apocalyptic police state
There is the common snapping turtle, and a Alligator Snapping turtle. I'm sure there is more, but the reason I mentioned those two is
1 is bigger, and has a longer neck for extended reach, and the smaller one has a smaller neck.

Me personally I see Moja as the team leader. yes she seems to have a bit of a temper and similar to Raph picks fights but she does it with the hope of defending her brother. This strong sense of justice and desire to protect whoever she cares about would most likely translate into a strong leader as she got older. I believe this is hinted at by the concept art we got showing moja looking at Uno who seems to be leaning away from the group. I believe that while Uno is the most naturally gifted of his siblings he will inevitably become a bit of a lone wolf. Also his skill only seems to be matched by his ego, thus making Moja a better fitting leader.

For weapons, I'd like to see them have a completely new set from before. I did some looking around and found that most of the previous weapons were from Okinawa except for Leo's katana (which were sometimes not actually katana, but I digress.) So, here's my suggestions:
Uno: Hookswords. He wants to be the leader, Leo had swords, so Uno gets swords. They are flashy and could make for some fun fight scenes. Also, they aren't Okinawan, so that could show some distance from his siblings.
Moja: Kama. She gets a pair of curved scythes which could either be similar to Raph's paired sai or Leo's curved swords to show she kind of walks between the two. I think they would make a great counterpoint to Uno's weapon.
Oja: Tinbe-Rochin. It's a shield and short spear. He seems like a gentle giant, so a more defensive weapon might suit him. As a bonus, the shields were often made of turtle shells.
Yi: Eku. It's essentially an oar with a longer paddle. If Yi is going to be the "techie", I say give her a weapon similar to Don's bo. Plus, it's an unusual weapon, maybe it'll fit her personality.

That always bothered me even when I was young. Leo really doesn't carry Katanas a large majority of the time when portrayed. He's using Ninjatō swords which are the shorter straight bladed swords that resembled Wakizashi. Which was what became associated with Ninjas in modern times. Even though no records of them actual using it exists and most Historical things about Ninjas has them not using swords.

I agree with the comments I've seen about all the turtles wearing the same colored bandana. They're different species of turtles so this could absolutely work, plus it's a nice recall to the original group. I also think Moja could be a good leader. Uno seems more technically skilled but lacking teamwork. As for weapons, I'd love to see a feathered Qiang spear (something like the train fight scene in the Drunken Master movie). Hookswords (Mortal Kombat's Kabal), bagua zhang crescent moon knives , and eku (oar looking paddle) would be cool too. Maybe a bow with tactical arrows for support (smoke, flashbangs, stuns, etc)?
Yeah, those weapons are very good choices. Maybe they could also have some weapons like: baseball bat, mallet, axe, bowie knife, crowbar, slingshot, etc
The idea of having tactical arrows/trick arrows is also great, especially we can expect Yi to do something like that as the team's genius.
I like the new team and am sad about the original team being gone. I think this is a good start in passing the torch down to a new generation but never forgetting the originals. Thanks for the breakdown, I'll be ordering this new Roninverse physical comic book(s) for sure.

I feel like they may learn to master each weapon like Mikey eventually did but then focus on one each. I reckon besides the main 4 weapons, Odyn could use a massive axe, Uno could use double spiked mallets, Moja could use a spear that has a sai fused to it rather than a simple blade and Yi could use a vast range of weapons including a bow with arrows, a heavy duty slingshot or a tessen (callback to 2012 April) and they could all wear black eye masks with hoods and have the ends of their masks dyed with each of the turtles' colours (Yi/Purple, Odyn/Orange, Uno/Blue or Red, Moja/Blue or Red) this would be amazing imo but verrrry unrealistic tbh. Uno gives me 2007 tmnt leo with the cockiness which is cool, I always thought that Leo was driven and nuts. Yi I hope is going to end up tech savvy when she's older and give the team a Donatello. Moja is just amazing and can pull off confronting raph really well. Odyn is so cute I could see him being big and loveable and kind to the team but when on his bad side he's wild. Odyn constantly gives off 2012 Leatherhead lol
I feel they might be more fusions of two turtles rather than direct copies which could play into Casey’s struggle in teaching them as they are not exactly like the predecessors she heard about growing up.

Close to what I was thinking! I also think it would be Yi/Purple Odyn/Orange Uno/Blue and Moja/Red. I just feel like Uno has Leo condescending attitude and Moja is more like Ralphs fiery spirit but with a outright protective side which Ralph had, but just seemed to hide it behind a sour demeanor.
I feel Odyn might either wield some larger weapon, like a Kanabō or maybe a Nagamaki,
though at the same time he may instead go the other direction and give him a pair of specialist Tonfa to allow him to really apply his strength and size in battle, while giving him even more of a reach.
I think the opportunity to have them all wear the same colors should be taken. They are each so unique that one color like the original TMNT wore, would pull it off. If not i would love to see the original TMNT colors kind in a tie dye pattern for all to wear.

Out of curiosty where do you see a bit of Mikey in Moja? Moja feels more like a combo of Leo and Raph to me, she has Raph's anger with Leo's personality. Odyn has traits similar to that of Mikey and maybe Slash (Slash is a bit of a stretch) no matter the interpretation Mikey was always the more gentle and pacifistic of the main turtles whether it be 2003, 2012, Image, IDW, and so on (not to mention 2012 was a very hungry just like Odyn).

I think Moja is going to be more Leo like than Raph like. When Uno bullied Odyn she was quick to step in, fiery temper like Raph but will use it to do the right thing like Leo. It's because of that I believe she's going to be the leader of the group. Uno seems to be described as the cockiest, the most skilled, but because of his antagonistic nature he is going to be more of a loose cannon. And is anyone else noticing Uno is the only one with seemingly no iris' in his eyes? Maybe the reason he is so mean is because he is blind. And was bullying Odyn because of his lazyness towards training? Might be a stretch, just feels weird how we haven't seen his.

Part of me wishes it was Mikey who would take on the role of Splinter. Seeing him Arc from the lovable goof, to the wounded warrior, and then become their father/sensei and get a piece of what he lost would of been kinda nice. But this is IDW and they don’t like to pull their punches.
Based off of their personality and comparing them to the old turtles, I'd give Yi purple, Odyn orange, Moja blue, and Uno red masks
The patterns on the new turtles look like the designers may be going in a different direction and might forego the masks, instead giving them other accessories that compliment their personalities and styles ala the more recent ninja turtles movies. Id love it if they call back the mono color masks as well maybe all of them should honor the last ronin with black masks but wear them differently for example one around the the neck one around the head or eyes etc., and then their individual gear, hoodies tactical armor and such. Really excited to see where they go with this.

I think that when it comes to the masks, some turtles won’t wear them. I think there will be some struggle with some turtles, wanting to do things, the old fashion way, while other turtles May want to have a more modern spin on what we historically know about turtle lore. I can see some turtles, wanting to embrace the original four turtles and master splinter, while other turtles will feel like making their own way in life, and not wanting to live In the shadow of their origins.
Now that would make a good internal conflict before they even have their first outing in the streets.
That and their adaptability and finding their strengths. I hope they struggle and not magically smooth and talented.
They seem like they are the antithesis of the original crew in a way.
Leonardo was very skilled but he wasn’t prideful. Uno seems to be just as skillful but he’s definitely got an ego.
Raphael was probably the most protective of brothers but he definitely picked on them. Moha seems to be similar to him in that sense but she’s not antagonizing them.
Michelangelo was the most childish but he had confidence and was outgoing, Odin is definitely child like but he seems more timid and lazy.
Donatello was the tech wiz but he seemed to be the most reserved out of the bunch but Yi seems like she is more bubbly and cheerful.

Yi reminds me of a River cooter turtle. I grew up near a fishing pond with lots of them so it’s kinda nostalgic to see a tmnt character as one.
I think it's cool that the shows and the comics influence one another, like how in this instance, RotTMNT's concept of making every turtle a separate species seems to have inspired the designs of the new turtles.
I absolutely LOVE the IDW iteration of TMNT.
After reading this comic, I dug into what the origins of their names were and found that they are all different languages that depict the word for “One”.
From what I read in the article, it was apparently from each of the cultures and languages that Mikey encountered before his demise.
I can’t wait to see the next generation’s stories breathe even more fresh air into the legacy of TMNT!

From right to left starting from the tallest I see Leo Ralph Mike And Don so maybe different shades of the turtles colors. It also seem like they took alot from Rise to make the new turtles which I honestly don't mind makes more sense to me because they're are new didnt have to change nothing and u can just build up from it.
Seems like they took a page from rise of the TMNT by making them distinct breeds of turtles and not just different shades of green
I feel like Uno and Moja will have a similar dynamic to Raph and Leo while still being very unique, I really look forward to seeing these characters develop

I love them all. They are so cute. I am happy they chose to make two of the turtles female. Uno is my fave so far.
Being a preschool teacher myself, I understand Casey's fustration with them and herself. She just wants them grasp the concepts quickly and blames herself when the training session turns into chaos. I love how "Grammy April" is like chill Casey, they are still babies.
I wish this little family can live peacefully but I assume more rough times are coming since Casey really wants them become ninjas. Casey needs to go easy on herself, ease up on training them so hard and just cherish their childhood before they grow up.
Of course they did because everyone make females leaders in modern day stuff.
I grew up with TMNT since the 80s. Would've loved to see them all together, older as senseis, ushering the new generation.
I think for the color of their headbands it should be Light blue, Yellow, Black, and Maroon. As for the weapons they should have Katanas, Metal pipe taped together with Sharp Spikes, Sythe (the one shown in puss in boots 2 from the death character) and two Daggers

Well, now that there are new turtles even with names not being famous artists like their predecessors (I thought the girls were going to be called Madonna or Mona Lisa or the boys Mozart or Beethoven... something like that), I want them to use different weapons to differentiate from the originals. Maybe they can use some of the additional weapons included in the 1988 TMNT Playmates toy line, like Fist Daggers (big and small), Kama, or maybe a Ninja Bow (like the one that came with Splinter). They can also use a Kusarigama, Tekko-Kagi, Tekken, Nekode, etc. If they choose this route (which as an OG Turtles fan, I like) I want them to be unique compared to the originals.

I kinda hope that not all of them become ninjas. I think Last Ronin had a point of the turtles being drawn into battle as just kids which Mikey pointed out the same for Casey Marie. In the lost years April pointed out it’s not exactly mandatory for the new turtles to learn as Casey struggles to teach them to carry on the OG’s legacy. I think it would be interesting for her to just raise them with the choice of becoming warriors and by the end only one or two actually become ninjas

I'll be honest, I think Odyn is my favorite. I think he will be the gentle giant of the group, and i like characters like that in fiction. For example: Raphael in Rise of the Tmnt and Onua in Lego Bionicle Generation 2
This is the first I've heard that there's going to be a continuum to the Last Ronin. I honestly cannot wait to get to know this new generation of Mutant Turtles ❤
As for theories on colours, I won't be surprised if they go as close as to the original four's colours - red, purple, blue and orange - so maybe sky or navy blue, a shade of pink or deep burgundy, lavender/lilac/soft purple or a deeper shade like plum or royal purple, yellow-orange or deep burnt orange. This is simply a theory, being that there are also black, white, grey, yellow, and I am sure there are shades of green that can go well with any of these turtles' skin tones.

Yi - Kusarigama (The chain and ball on the end being good for disarming and striking at a middle range) or Kyoketsu Shoge (Same thing with the middle range
Uno is the one I am blanking on. Maybe a Naginata or a Yari (Spear) I think him using the weapon as a mix of defensive and offensive. With skillful blocks and deflections and then using the spear for fast and precise strikes to down foes..
Each would be different from the previous but with a little bit of homage to them with the swords, nunchaku , bo staff, sai weapons.

Maybe Odyn will become the next Mikey. I say this because Mikey was also a chill guy who liked to sit around, eat pizza and play videogames. But Mikey was actually really strong and Odyn will probably be similar. All Odyn will need is a little nudge and he'll be unstoppable. Hopefully that nudge won't be tragic.
This is interesting I never thought of New TMNT turtles. But hey at least we're getting better female turtles. Now I kinda wish we get a TV show or movie about these turtles!!!!

I think I hate this. I was fine with Last Ronin being a limited series exploring a “dark future” storyline, but I want it to just end. Don’t continue the same universe where all the original turtles were brutally killed. Not cool.
I honestly agree. While I entertained the idea of completely new and different tmnt myself, this isn’t the way to do it.

Someone came up with an interesting theory that the original ninja turtle weapons are based base on the opposite of their personalities. Raphael was the hothead of the group, but he uses sai which are mainly a defensive weapon. Donatello was a genius but uses the most simplest tool. Michelangelo used to be a slacker, but wields a tool that require great focus. Leonardo is the only one that wields the deadliest weapon, and as leader, he has to make the toughest choices. This is my theory on what the new turtles weapons will be
Uno- a three-section staff. He’s definitely the first to go on the attack, but it’s more of a defensive weapon. Also teaches him how each section works together.
Moja - a bow and arrow. She appears to be a bit hardheaded, so I thought this would be a good weapon for her. For it requires a calm mind. Also is a take charge weapon.
Odyn - tessen (war fan). I know most people wouldn’t want him to wield a heavyset weapon such as a hammer or ax. I’d be OK with that as well but I think fans would be more suitable. He appears to be clumsy at first, so I thought fans would be more suitable since they require grace, especially with him being the largest of the turtles. Also made me think of that one member from the ninja tribunal in the 2003 version of TMNT.
Yi - senbon (needles). This was a bit difficult, but thought it was a good match for her. She appears to be the smart one so her weapon would require some creativity. Like Donnie and his bo. Requiring inventive ways to wound or kill an opponent.

Since Odin is basically confirmed to be Michelangelo, and if they were ever to adapt this somehow, I think the perfect voice for him would be the dude who plays king shark in Harley Quinn. His voice is both intimidating and innocent at the same time.
Eastman and Laird hit in the point with this team. It would be cool that everyone had the same colored bandanas, as a reference to the original comics, but with weapons like the ones in Rise of the TMNT

Dual eskrima sticks, why not. Looks fun and easy to imagine them using it.
And lastly...I forgot what it's called...but it's a sword where the handle is perpendicular to the blade and the rest of the bottom handle straps to the forearm. Great defensively, but I can't imagine trying to be on the offensive with it. I think it's be neat as well
I hope UNO gets a black bandanna that would be bad ass.
