4:04 GREAT TO HEAR OUR MAN SAY HE'LL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR HIS CHILD. That's absolutely what all children desperately need, for sure, loving commitment from their parents!
Bon Jovi is the greatest band some other songs of theirs are "I'll be there for you", "Bad medicine " , " Someday I'll be Saturday night ", "Always ",It's my life ", "Blaze of glory ", "Bed of roses "
I seen them open up for my favorite band back in 85 the scorpions love at first sting tour, and bon Jovi opened with this song they toured with them for a while. Great concert especially the scorps they rocked the whole state. That night
There are the songs that people mention in the comments section and then there are the hidden gems of Bon Jovi...Only Lonely, Dry County, If I Was Your Mother, My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms, We Rule The Night, Wild Is The Wind, Love Lies, (It's Hard) Letting You Go, Now And Forever, Without Love...Santa Fe "JBJ solo work"
When this come first came out the keyboards caught my attention. New wave came out in the early to mid 80s and everyone from Bon Jovi to Van Halen added it to their sound. Thank you 80s New Wave inspiring the rockers !
From their first album they were raw but you can hear the beggings of a super band. Another good song on this Album is She don't know me my personal favorite
Wow! This album brings back so many memories! I played this tape every night to fall asleep to. Junior High into High School. I was a runaway. On my own at 17 yrs young. Shit I'm getting old. Saw them in concert twice. Hair metal bands rock on!!
Remember Jon saying in an interview he recored this as a demo while sweeping floors at a recording studio (Power Station Maybe) and then sent it to radio stations. Started breaking nationwide as a request and he hadn't assembled the bad yet.
Saw theiir 1st London show at the Dominion Tottenham court rd. Great party afterwards. Met John again in a local London pub while he was filming. He came back with goodies for a raffle. Being of long hairy myself we spoke about Thin Lizzy and other rock bands for ages, top man.
when you can , Mike and the Mechanics - The living years .. ( official video ) 😎👍 .. and Gowan - Criminal Mind ( the video when Gowan sing this song with STYX )
I grew up in what I later realized was a “normal” home. Had friends whose parents seemed normal but had hidden problems. There is no normal but I can say I was lucky.
yikes, this song! i was labeled a *chronic runaway*,, back in the 80'ss. Another song that's close to my heart is *Hot Child in the City* I was 13 when i left home and it didn't bother anyone. I've been legally my own since i was 16..these kind of songs helped explain my situation. When you're an abused child you don't hate your abuser. you learn to hate yourself. and that's where all the lost children come from.
This is the anthem of my youth as well! Ran away NUMEROUS times starting at 13, left home for good at 15. My friends teased me all the time this song was written for me (or Whitesnake, Here I Go Again lol) Thankfully this is just a jam toe now, not a bad memory 😉♥️✌
This was one of Bon Jovi's first singles from their 1984 debut album... Initially, it didn't so very well in the US, so their managers tried marketing Bon Jovi in Europe and Japan... As a result, Bon Jovi had a hit record overseas before they achieved US success (which came in 1986 on their 3rd album 'Slippery when wet').
Runaway is the band's debut single that was originally recorded as a demo in 1981 with studio musicians, but became a suprising hit in 1983 on WAPP-FM (now WKTU) in Lake Success, NY, a suburb of NYC, before the band was ever signed yet. That led to the first proper formation of Bon Jovi and a short tour. It would become their debut single off the first album and broke into the top 40, peaking at #39, in 1984, with the ink barely dry on the band's first recording contract. It's the first top 40 hit of Bon Jovi's career.
Great song and reaction. I was a sophomore in HS when this came out and knew Bon Jovi would be a success. Told my other metal head friends Bon Jovi would be around for a long time and most scoffed at me, lol. "Start with the parents..."...Sorry, nope. Teens have their own minds that are completely undeveloped and just want freedom and think they're adults. Parents can do everything in their power to nurture a good relationship with their kids before they're teens but many times that goes all out the window during those years, leaving parents bewildered as to what happened. Totally wrong in most instances to blame parents for teens' behavior, though sometimes it can be justified. Not a blanket assertion. All the best to you two for raising your children!
Jersey boys in the house................bout time someone reacted to this song. FYI jersey boys.........because they grew up across the river from NYC.
I was a runaway. Step Father and Step Sister made my life hell. I kept running away until my Mom finally let me move out on my own at 15 and I never looked back. 😐
Hey Guys, I see you starting to like Bon Jovi, would like to see your reaction to one of his other song, "She Dont know me "- Bon Jovi. by the way love your channel all the way from Western Australia mate. keep the vibe going. once again Happy Belated Birthday to your gorgeous daughter.
Man! I remember this song! I saw them in concert before they were famous! lol They opened for another Rock group called "Rat"! lol Yes, that was there real name! lol Jon came running out on stage wearing American flag like a cape! lol He was imitating lead singer from Van Halen! lol David Lee Roth from Van Halen used to do that!!! It his thing! lol
Speaking of songs of runaways, please do a reaction to Soul Asylums "Runaway Train" but will warn ya's, get a box of tissues, it's that sad, I don't believe you reacted to any Soul Asylum

From the same album, there is for me their best ballad: Silent night.
My very first intro to Bon Jovi. 😍
I grew up in what I later realized was a “normal” home. Had friends whose parents seemed normal but had hidden problems. There is no normal but I can say I was lucky.

Two sisters same story. Scared the hell out of me being the youngest. I held my breath till I was 18 then simply moved out.
