But like you I change my life got into Fitness changed my eating and after 13 years tossed away the drugs. 39 years old and I never felt better

Omg I need to replace my power rack with this wall mounted system. It would free up so much space in my gym.

I’m so bad about stretching! I know I always feel better after I do it, not sure why I don’t do it consistently. I’ll add this to my workout plan! Thanks, Shane - and welcome back!

Thank you, Shane. There was definitely some snap, crackle, and pops going on (even though I stretch often). Loved this new routine, and it's been added to my library. 😊👍🏾

Me too. How about something sitting on a bed couch or massage table? Some of us have injuries that don’t let us get to the floor and back. I started with you when I was in a wheelchair after an accident. Now I can get about 6000 step on an average day. But… the floor may never happen because of lack of ligaments.

Guilty, I rarely stretch after a workout. I find stretching more painful than lifting weights.

Heya bud i have a question, ive been reading online that the average 500m time is 1:40, even when i push myself to the hardest I'm doing about 34 SPM and I cant get below 2:10 is this because my machine is old, i think its from the 90's or earlier 2000's, I'm a strong 29 year old standing at 5ft 11

    • @gonzothegreat1317

If you still need help with this, here is my take on it.
You probably wear yourself out by going to fast up and down the rail. 34 SPM should be waaaaaay lower. You have to start practicing in the 18-24 SPM range. Going up and down the rail is not what will improve your time. It's the power with which you push off: Legs, Hinge, Arms... then recovery in reverse: Arms, hinge, legs. Practice this form religiously. You should be able to get below 2:00 easily with a SPM of 20: It means to push in 1 second, then recovery 2 seconds. The harder you push the faster you'll go. Make sure you keep feeling tension on the chain, when you turn around. That could be another working point. The moment you get back from recovery and are in good form at the start of the movement, accelerate as fast as you can. In the recovery part you can slow down a bit. You'll notice that even though you are not really moving, the split stays at the same level.
If you get good at the 18-24 range, you can go faster with even more power. But focus first on that particular range.
Also, to get fast you need to get slow. Rowing an hour at 2:20 - 2:40 split every other day, and this consistently for months, will improve your speed too. (but it is secondary to form)
