I wonder if this works with a projector and Roku. I have one of these that was given to me with a old sharp tv. I want to connect the projector, Roku, tv, and amplifier all to go on at once. The tv is on a HDMI splitter so both run at the same time in the garage.
It might... IF it's a Roku Stick or something like that, then no it won't work with the Roku. Those have a proprietary remote unfortunately. But I'll bet it'll work with everything else.

I have an older model of Logitech Harmony...I believe it's a HARMONY 700. It's the one with the oval shaped top and "colorful" buttons around the top of remote (in a sort of semi circle grouping). I can not find the original packaging or instructions. I believe this remote came out in mid 2000??? On My Harmony website it's the 2nd one in the row (by the larger square remote). My biggest problem is my computer is WIN 10. Every time I attempt to update the software (following the instructions given @My Harmony desktop)...it recognizes my remote, but says that it need the UPGRADE SOFTWARE to be downloaded. Unfortunately, every attempt I have made to DOWNLOAD the UPGRADE has been unsuccessful! 😞 Even when I attempted to download with the ZIP FILE....and extract the files. It still does not help to "download" the upgrade to my computer. I am at my wits end trying to "upgrade" the software to enable me to complete the set-up for Logitech Harmony 700 remote control device. Take a Bath Productions, can you please advise me how to properly download the "upgrade" software for Win 10 (desktop computer)?
As far as I can tell from the description, I don't see why it won't work. Do you happen to have a different computer to try it from? Just for curiosity sake to see if it'll work?
It looks like they have limited options... They have a disclaimer there that says if you've upgraded your MacOS Above 10.15, then the software will no longer work. I don't understand why they would do that, but that's what it says. I have a Mac also, but I keep a windows laptop around for stupid things like that.

Easy, comprehensive guide - thank you very much! I'm not entirely sure about when I'd need to teach the Logitech via the method you show at the end of the video. What functions aren't available using the "normal" method where you just enter the model number into the guide? The reason I'm asking is that I need this to replace two partially non-functioning remotes so I won't be able to use the teach method (as the originals' buttons aren't all working).
There could be times when you could need to teach a function. For example, there's a lot of smart TVs out there now that have a dedicated Netflix button ... Most universal remotes like this don't have a button like that, so to get the function, you'd have to use the original remote to teach the Harmony remote the netflix command and teach it to a button that you can remember what it does.. That's just one example. Hope that helps...
Thanks for the video, I am thinking about setting up my own home entertainment system. Your explanations make it less intimidating. My question is, if I add a tv lift, can I program the logitech to activate the lift when I push the tv button in the upper lefthand corner of the remote? The lift I am looking at comes with a IR wireless remote. I am hoping to only push one button to make everything turn on including raising the tv. Thanks for any thoughts or advice
tonkacaptain I doubt you’ll find a code for the lift... but maybe you can use the original remote and the learning feature to program the lift to one of the device buttons.....

On the assign device buttons page, if you assign the same satellite box to both the short and long press device button you can then jump between the two identical devices, but now you can have 10 favorite satellite channels rather than just five (each sat or TV device has its own five favorite selections). All other buttons will be identical.

Ardy Cahyadi it should work as long as tv has output to sound bar. That sound bar only has optical input? Then the tv needs optical output... sounds like sound bar isn’t compatible with ARC... but remote should still work...but you’ll need that optical cable

Ardy Cahyadi no you won’t be able to.... the sb isn’t arc compatible... the harmony should work for both.... you can set it to work the volume for the sound bar and it’ll power on and off both devices at the same time.... probably not as smooth as the arc control would be,. But should still be pretty good

As far as I know, the Logitech software is the only one available. I've had it not detect the remote. Try using a different USB port and see if that helps. That worked for me in the past.
Do you mean model number? If you put the correct model number in it may not be compatible with that brand... Try to google other model number TVs by the same brand and input those model numbers to see if it makes a difference. Those codes aren't really model specific...

Any device is relative... I don't think it'll control a Stove either!.. But on a serious note... I think that box your referring to uses a RF only remote from what I can tell.... This remote is IR only. Thanks...

I'm not sure this has anything to do with the remote..... So your saying, you're able to record a program onto your DVD, but then when you go to play it back, you aren't able to play it on the TV?... If I understood your question.... So Are you able to see anything generated from the DVD player.??? Like the menu, the setup menu...? anything like that.. just to see if your getting the signal from the DVD? The question still isn't that clear,.. so correct me if I didn't understand it correctly yet...
yes I can get all the menus up from my dvd except the access of my pre recorded programmes from my dvd to the tv. on my old remote I used the direct navigator to access the pre recorded stuff.Thank you for your patience
Interesting....I think this remote has a learning feature.... If you have access to the original remote.. can you learn the "direct navigator" button and transfer it to the logitech remote?

OIC... I guess that means you've tried the teach function? I've never had any trouble getting it to learn from another remote. What device are you trying to put in there?

There is no smart tv option, but what you can do is teach this remote using your original remote the main keys that you want to use that don't work.

No, this doesn't do what the title suggests - it only works if the device is in the database. :(
Yes it will. This is a teachable remote so it can receive commands from your original remote. So it is not depending on if it's in the database.😊
