*It’s perfect for me. The size is exactly **Newest.Technology** what I needed. The sound is loud enough for me to hear without having to turn it higher. Suggestions on various uses is extremely helpful! Worth every dollar spent!*
Great review and good advice. I've repeatedly bought this Universal Remote over all others. I've just had to replace it due to wear and tear, and I immediately bought exactly the same remote again because you just can't beat it. Excellent advice on the hub not being needed, and also excellent advice about how using the remote is much easier than any other sort of automation.
I had a Harmony hub for a short period of time, but never made a video about it. The Google Home integration was powerful but not convenient. "Hey Google, ask Harmony to turn on the TV" If you wanted to make it just "turn on the TV' you had to setup manual shortcuts in the HOME app. I could change channels and volume etc by voice, but IRL that bothers everyone around you. Doing it with a remote is better. I really should have made a video about that.. oh well. Biggest benefit is that you could have your smart home stuff controllable by the remote. So with a hub you could have an activity for lights, etc. But really with our phones always on us I don't see that as being worthwhile.
It would have been interesting to see a video of that! I was close to buy the model with the hub but I had my doubts about the "speed" of use. Plus I don't have my phone with me all the time.
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I am moving on from a harmony 650 and wanted to know about the lag on this remote. On the 650, if I switch my activities from Watch tv to Watch chrome cast to Watch Apple TV, there is a 5-7 second lag for the macro commands. Is that the same here?
You are welcome. There is still a lag with this remote unfortunately. I don't have apple tv but switching between cable tv and movie mode takes about 3-5 seconds. But I don't think its just the remote. Components take 1 or 2 secs to process the signal and wake up. Thank you for visiting my channel.
There is a forward IR for the tv components. The bottom is not IR. It is a micro-USB connector for charging and for connecting to a laptop for programming. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Hi there. The documentation says that it works with firestick, roku and appletv but I never tried it on these devices. Thank you for visiting my channel.
That might be possible with the Logitech hub and a Nest thermostat. I can't say for sure since I do not have these devices to test. Thanks for watching!
Oh your 520 died. Those models also had a known issue with buttons that stop working after 5 years or so. I had a 360 version in that style that failed that way. If you contact Logitech they might give you a coupon... or at least they used to. I wish they still made that form factor, I like it more than the newer ones. No numb pad and less physical buttons on new stuff.. SIGH.
I kind of miss the physical buttons too but with the screen with the channel shortcuts, it does compensate for it and gives you fast access to the channels you watch most often. I like better the position of the IR transmitter on the Ultimate. Very natural hand position when you handle the commands. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the review but it's 2018, you can't post videos with "Hey Google" in it, it makes it impossible for the over "tens of millions" (source: Google) of people with Google Home to watch the video without various Google Homes constantly trying to respond to it. It's best to edit post videos with "Hey" muted. :)

I am still using mine too! Thank you for your comment!
Best review by far, thank you. And Thanx for explaining the differences in all the similar remotes, that was exactly what I needed.
You are welcome and thank you for visiting my channel.
Does this need the hub or will it work without the hub?
Hi Joel, this model works without the hub. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Just what I needed to know, many thanks... I have just purchased one and looking forward to setting up and using!
You are welcome. Enjoy your new remote and thanks for watching!
SuperdanTech thank you! 👍🏼
@@MadeInMaidstone So how is the remote after one year? Happy?

Est-ce que ça va marcher avec le Shield TV?
Je ne sais pas, je n'ai pas un Shield pour le tester. Il faudrait contacter Logitech mais ce modèle n'existe plus. Merci de visiter ma chaine.

How easy is it to set these up??
It is easy but this remote is now 5 years old. There must be something better now I would think! Thank you for visiting my channel.

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. Great review.
Thank you very much for the kind words. Have a great day (or evening)!
I thought the bottom IR was for remote learning, and still has a forward firing IR for the TVs and such.

@@SuperdanTech I'm not talking about the USB port, I'm talking about the little black shiny square you pointed to at 8:57
@@madmax2069That is the transmitter to your components. Make sure you don't cover it with a finger.
would this remote work with amazon firestick?

Hey, nice review, chief! :)
Thank you!
Good video but maybe next time don't use the full Google commands. It's hard to watch your review when you keep muting or turning my TV off.
Yah good point! Other people have mentioned that too. I know what to do next time. Thanks for watching!
can it control AC?
That might be possible with the Logitech hub and a Nest thermostat. I can't say for sure since I do not have these devices to test. Thanks for watching!

Fantastic!
Thank you!
My harmony 1 shows icons of the stations on the screen, does this
Yes this one does also. Thanks for watching!
Arg you turned on my TV with your google command! :) If a chromecast is plugged in, that'll happen.
LOL.
Micro USB. I haven’t seen a mini USB in years
If I said mini USB during the video I stand to be corrected. It is indeed a micro USB. Thanks for watching!
This video went WAY TOO FAST foe me. Not enough explanation of options. I am 3 now, but have always been good with technologies.
You are 3...???
The R Money remote.
My google home increased the tv volume 😐
LOL...thanks for watching!
Stop screaming HEY GOOGLE LOL
I said it only twice in the whole video... LOL

Humm...good point. I will remember next time I do a video on Google Home or Amazon Alexa! Thanks for watching!
Please stop saying hey google 😭
Ok..."hey google"... this is a silent one...lol
FFS Don't say google or Alexa commands out loud on a UA-cam video, you know you're gonna annoy a LOT of people.
Yup, you are number 100 to tell me...lol. So I now mute some commands in my recent videos. Thanks for watching!
Stop saying "Hey Google" throughout your video!
I know Marcelo, soooo many people have told me that I stopped saying hey google after doing this video...LOL
Disliked video for triggering my smart speaker...
No really??? Just for that???
