  • The two dominant and undefeated teams of the 2000 rugby league World Cup tournament in Britain faced off in the final. Although New Zealand eased into the final with a walloping of the hapless English, the Australians were pushed by a gallant Wales, only securing victory in the final quarter. The final was held at Old Trafford, Manchester, on November 25, 2000.
