I dont like to admit it but Australian tv was way ahead of us as far as rugby league goes we saw the test matches live here in England & that was it,got the odd highlight on local news of the club games if you was lucky enough to see a 2 minute highlight package,it seems to me that over in oz the kangaroo tour was on a level with an ashes tour (cricket),this is a great production thank god for UA-cam,Deano-Hull Kr loyal
I have loved watching these old games .When you watch a game and the crowd loves the scoring from the OZ team it shows that they loved football no matter if the opponents scored .The game was great back then the rules have ruined it in this day .
Surprisingly no games against Castleford (Challenge Cup Winners) and Warrington (Premiership play off Winners and despite finishing in the top 4 of the British League the previous season and being in Championship contention) yet the beaten finalists Hull KR got a game (however this was as a result of Hull KR winning the Yorkshire Cup ironically beating Castleford in the Final) while Halifax got a game anyway as League Champions
O'Connor should be given Immortal status!!! Best side-step in the game. Try scorer, kicker and who can forget when he scored all the points for NSW in an Origin match. And won the series with that last conversion from the sideline....... when it was pissing down rain.
Three tests v PNG, the 3rd v Great Britain and the 2nd v France and the re-emergence of Great Britain culminating in the third test win in Sydney in 1988 vindicated the decision to spread the 1985 World Cup over 3 years having a number of test matches played between July 1985 and July 1988 counting as World Cup matches with the Final set for October 1988

The Club games were filmed by Micron Video and beamed to Australia

.
All Hull's points were scored by Australians.
The game against Cumbria looked like it was played in someone's reasonably-sized backyard
Elias and Rowdy really made this team, great players!
I have a signed programme from the 1st Test at Perpignan.

AND ...... highest point scorer for the "1986 Unbeatables" - 170
I'd say he's received better accolades in league than in union eh?!?
Gary Jack, one of the greatest support players ever to don the jersey!
And in 1987, Manly had the Kangaroos test wingers playing fullback (Shearer) and centre (O'Connor) in their Premiership side.

That was awesome.
