  • How do I install HyperSwitch? Installing HyperSwitch is very simple - take the wires from your pickups and connect them to the terminals on the switch itself, tightening them up as you go. In our HyperSwitch installation video, we’ll walk you through how to get the HyperSwitch installed, which wires go where and more.

    Thanks for the info.What if the battery goes down or I dont have the app at a given time.Will the switch still work?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  8 місяців тому +1

      You will only need the app when you're assigning configurations to the switch. After that, you will need a 9v battery to power the HyperSwitch. The current draw is really low but slightly higher when you pair it with your phone, not much but the Bluetooth requires some energy. Hope that helps!

      Thanks for responding.Is it a fact that if the battery is down completely that there would be no sound from the guitar?@@seymourduncan

    As far as video-manuals go these are great, but PLEASE also provide actual documentation. The PDFs and the included little sheet leaves a lot to be wished for. Also as someone else pointed out: give us dimensions and technical specifications on the website. Right now it's as if im trying to find out classified information just looking for a simple wiring diagram.

      I have a Strandberg Salen. 2 pickups, 3 way switch. Would the hyper switch fit and work with my guitar? Soldering necessary? Thanks.

  • @MusicChannel-rf5zz
    @MusicChannel-rf5zz 8 місяців тому +1

    Ive installed the hyperswtich with 2 hot rails & a Fender EJ single coil pickup on the neck.On the Hyperswitch app I see all 3 pickups as single coil pickups for some reason! The app recognizes it as a single coil pup!I dont see the 2 Hotrails pickups or the North South indicators.Is this some malfunction or an issue with the wiring? If so does the SHR1N/SHR1B pickups have different color codes than other pickups?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  8 місяців тому +1

      This should be an easy fix! First, the Hyperswitch doesm't automatically detect what kind of pickups are connected. The default preset is all single coils, so until you change it, that's what it will show. You just need to finish the setup process by going into the app and assigning the Hot Rails and EJ to their place in the configuration. If you need help, send our Customer Service team an email and we'll walk you through it with more details: support@seymourduncan.com
      Thanks!

      Thanks a lot.I did figure it out when I saw your 4th instruction video.Wish I read the manual clearly earlier! The only downside of the hyper switch is changing batteries.I wish there was a much where I could tuck the battery neatly outside the guitar somewhere.SInce removing the pick guard may mean removing strings every time.How long will the battery last if I change the pickup configuration settings like once in 2 weeks?@@seymourduncan

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  8 місяців тому +1

      @@MusicChannel-rf5zz It will depend on how much time it takes you to change your configuration, but I asked a few guys from the shop for their take. If you didn't know, when you are paired, you can check the battery indicator. If you pair with the HyperSwitch for 10-15 minutes every couple of weeks, I'd expect the battery to last about a year or so. Again, without knowing your pairing duration, others were guessing closer to 6 months.

    • @MusicChannel-rf5zz
      @MusicChannel-rf5zz 8 місяців тому

      Thanks.Yes I dont intend pairing it for long once we have it configured.Is there a way we can save a set of 5 presets each & store elsewhere to access later? Also the manual says 'make sure the hyper switch is on while pairing'", is there some kind of on/off switch for the Hyperswitch somewhere ?Thanks v much for your guidance.

    Do you need battery power when playing it as usual and not using the bluetooth? For example when the battery dies can i still use it as a normal switch with the current selected settings?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  Рік тому +1

      Hello! The device has 3 levels of battery, and everything works fine until it reaches about 70% charge. The app can be paired with the device at this point. However, when the battery level drops to 65%, it enters a danger zone, and a pop-up warning appears at 60% advising the user to change the battery. The device continues to function using the last stored setting until the battery runs out, similar to an active pickup. Further information can be found in the app user guide. In general, the device provides 6-8 hours of continuous use when paired with the app.

  • @Leo9ine
    @Leo9ine Рік тому

    Specific question - when the battery fully dies, does the switch still pass sound? Yes or no? I don't want the copy-paste paragraph about seeing the user manual, please!

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  Рік тому +1

      HyperSwitch requires a 9V battery to function. For example, it's like active pickups; when the battery dies, HyperSwitch no longer functions.

    I tried to buy a pair of Seymour Duncan Apollo Linear Split Coil Jazz pickups...they came in 2 box's, one marked 'bridge' ,one marked 'neck'....inside the box marked 'bridge' the pickup inside has a sticker on rear saying 'neck' & both are 'neck' sized....really dissapointed ,not heard from shop yet, spend £246 & got 2 neck Apollo Jazz bass pick-ups which would have been boxed in Seymour Duncan factory not the shop...can you try & help me as i paid for after ordering a pair for 'neck' & 'bridge' but got a box marked 'bridge on outside but 'neck' sticker under pickup...both measure in size the same as both marked 'neck'...some help would be appreciated,we all make mistakes but this ain't my mistake...really dissapointed as my first Seymour Duncan pickups i have bought & such a large well known brand make a schoolboy error & nothing being done yet.....some help would be appreciated as i did'nt pack the pick-up's i just paid £246 & got 2 'neck' pick-up's which are no good for a Fender 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass....so dissapointed

    If only it has USB-C connection for loading the battery.
    For version 2. Just put a USB-C port next to the switch, probably below it and make a 9v-sized recharchable battery to connect it to. Then we're talking.
