    Great video. Sitting out in the cold sunshine working on an old engine, what could be better?
    You are a great man at telling stories, eg. going to the motor factors where you use to work. It makes it feel like we are sitting there beside you.
    Keep up the great work and thanks for all your fantastic videos this week.

    I wish i was over there so i could buy it from you. Thank god you pulled that fuel bowl. You hooked the tank up and i was like oh no hes not going to check the filter!

      I nearly didn't check it. but thought I ought to really. so glad I did. would not have been good if that water had got to pump or injector.

    That's an amazing job on the Lister Adam. I have never seen anyone heat up the big ends with a blow torch before, but makes sense. I wonder if there was something jamming the cooling fins which I think someone else pointed out. Its got a lot of life left in it and would be worth a few quid to the right buyer. Its clearly been well maintained. Thanks for posting the video it really cheered me up when I saw it turn.

      yeah I tend to agree. she looks to good in that bottom end to have been stck there. I think maybe is was somthing in the fan. Think she will be a good runner Paul. 😃

    Most enjoyable video! Had a great time and was as happy as you when she turned over. I have one of those that I rebuilt and painted hunter green. She cranks by hand or by 12v starter. Still trying to figure out what to use it for. Time will tell. Best wishes to you!😉👍

    • @NorfolkMancave

      Yes I agree Steve. I bet it was either air locked or even crap stuck in the cooling fins. Bet she will run like a Swiss watch.

      @NorfolkMancave  2 роки тому

      Cheers mate. yeah it would be great to get that tank back on it. Will look the part I think. it looks really good in that bottom end. I need to figure what rotation that engine is as it reverse rotation when turned with a handle.

    • @NorfolkMancave

      Yeah she's is very good in that bottom end. I think it was crap jammed in the flywheel.

  • @enginelover1
    @enginelover1 2 роки тому +1

    From experience from my past, that does not looked that it was siezed from the big ends. That little heat you applied there was literally nothing. That engine didnt turn over because the flywheel had corrosion somewhere around the cowling. Once I had an engine that was super solid. I bet if you take a look at the bigend shells you wont find them too bad. Good luck mate

    • @NorfolkMancave
      @NorfolkMancave  2 роки тому +1

      yeah I don't think it was siezed due to lack of lubrication. it looks far to good inside. I really just wanted to warm it a little and get some lube there before trying to break it free. I think she will be a good once done.

  • @DragonPlauge2806
    @DragonPlauge2806 2 роки тому

    I bet that engine wasn't seized in the first place like you said I think the engine instantly lost fuel and stopped but some of that junk that came out of the flywheel probably jammed that flywheel making them think it was seized. She will run I'm confident she will 👍

    • @NorfolkMancave
      @NorfolkMancave  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I think you are spot on there mate. virtually no gap between that fan and blower housing at all, So could get jammed up so easly. 🤷

    Nice, Long and Interesting Video. That filter was not fit for purpose 😉. Question... There was a copper pipe fitted just
    below the Rocker Cover and one end seemed to flat and sealed. what was/is that for. 👍👍

    • @NorfolkMancave
      @NorfolkMancave  2 роки тому

      umm I will have to look at that pipe. I think it was injector leak off pipe. but I'm not sure.

    That was a right anticlimax after the build up of it turning over 🧐 I think it will be a runner, there don’t seem any reason it should not run.

    • @NorfolkMancave

      Sorry about that. I was hoping we could go for a start but, but looking at that fuel system and filter it was just not possible I'm afraid..

    I do not think that engine seized at all, A small stone fell out when you barred the engine over along with the mud. So I think that when the beet cleaner fell over the fan pulled in the mud and stones that collect underneath those machines and the stone that fell out jammed between the flywheel and housing.

    • @NorfolkMancave
      @NorfolkMancave  2 роки тому

      I think you may well be spot on buddy. she looks far far to good in the bottom end to be siezed in there. she's pretty dam good to be honest.
