This is a fun deepdive. Player comparison for alot of people is just something fun. It's cool to think what'd be the 'final form' of a young player but how it negatively affected the player themselves are often overlooked. Liked. And bruh, your mentioning of Hayley Wiliams actually made me go back and binge listen to old Paramore songs. They were so good.
Hayley Williams. I actually pretty much only watch your deep dives. I haven't paid attention, watched, or cared about any sporting events for close to 2 decades. I watch your deep dives because they are mostly actually societal commentary [at least in the US,] just done within a sports setting. This one was less obviously about the society in general, but there are some parallels one can find to the broader society.
Hayley Williams, also i only got that far in the video because i was doing the dishes and couldn’t turn the video off. Just kidding, kinda. Great video tho. Really been enjoying your stuff lately
I want to look at the way people pose the question of how players from different eras stack up against each other. The what-ifs like how would Michael Jordan do in today's NBA? I think this question goes beyond skill and what they accomplished. The fact that pulling someone out of their world would have ramifications that are hard to quantify. I'm just wondering about the logistics of taking someone from a time and place then dropping them where you see fit. It wouldn't just change the people they are playing against but their ENTIRE life. Everyone they ever knew is back in the place they left (coaches, family , ect). That would have to have huge ramifications on their game. I'm assuming that when people conceive this thought experiment it's like a Battleworld type situation where the athletes in question are transported to a neutral playing field from wherever they might be in time/space when they "plucked" them out. Then not only would skill be a factor but more so versatility and mental fortitude to adjust to this life changing phenomena. When you think about these scenarios are the players plucked out at their prime and made to play against the people you want to compare them too? Or do they grow up in the era that you try to place them with their innate attributes? Theoretically at that point they could grow to become a different person who doesn't even like sports at all.
I really like the points you made. Players should be left alone to devolep into the best versions of themselves they could. Imagine Hayley Williams being constantly bombarded by Madonna comparisons or what not! It would certainly not help Paramore sound better at any capacity.
I have always hated the "Next" argument in the NBA, the next Kobe, the next LeBron, the next Steph, the next KD. Like those players, aside from Kobe who molded his game after MJ, are never going to exist again, they are called once-in-a-generation players because they will never be replicated. These comparisons do not do much than set false expectations for future players. Wiggins was set to fail from the moment he got the Kobe comparisons because there can and will not be another Kobe.
The point of a comparison is give simple idea of how someone plays not based on legacy for me I compare booker to Kobe isn’t just they take tough midrange shots it’s total of the game offensively similar shot selection all over the court bookers footwork you can obviously tell he studied Kobe cj mccolum is a two guard and never gets compared to Kobe many others the guys you mentioned had grown up watching him and mimic his offensive play style so comparisons aren’t bad
To be fair when I watch booker some of his plays look absolutely identical to Kobe’s that’s why I believe he gets comparisons and that’s not saying “he’s the next kobe” he’s Devin booker his game is just eerily similar in a few different ways
That's the part about Kobe's career that has gotten lost over time, not only did Kobe want to destroy his opponents on offense, he would gladly run back on the other side and clamp down on defense. A lot of stars today only play on one side of the court almost like defense doesn't exist.

U are absolutely my favorite youtuber and I watch all of ur vids :)) I been watching since like 75k or so id say, the improvements in production are absolutely insane bro. I love how much of ur personality u put in the videos. I run a small shop that sells secondhand clothing, we specialize in vintage bulls tees. Id love to send u one if u would like. No plug or anything i just want u to have it because i know the bulls is ur team too! I really hope u see this bro keep being u and making me laugh every single day.
Wiggins being called "Maple Mamba" or "Maple Jordan" since before he got drafted still cracks me up 🤣
16:57 Andrew Wiggins gets the Meg Griffin treatment.
As he should
Haley Williams. These vids are super high quality and I love them. Keep making them bro
0:50 dawg why you callin me out
This is a fun deepdive.
I'm not gonna lie. I think that After Laughter might be Paramore's best album.
“Rusty buckets is the next mike korzemba”
hayley williams and another great video, i rarely see people talk about this topic
Wiggins 😂😂😂😂😂
Hayley Williams, also i only got that far in the video because i was doing the dishes and couldn’t turn the video off. Just kidding, kinda. Great video tho. Really been enjoying your stuff lately
These nba deep dives deserve more views. So good
Andrew Wiggins in 2k is so freaking goated
I need to watch this because this is just an amazing concept holy crap djdjdjdj
I hate being busy
Awesome video! Waiting patiently for June!
Theoretically at that point they could grow to become a different person who doesn't even like sports at all.
then clone them and put them in an identical reality. then sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch the show
Intro was god tier
Another great video
“Devin Booker… Awesome. Jayson Tatum… AWESOME! Andrew Wiggins.”
This intro always reminds me of Papers Please
Papers please?
@@asherjohnson6678 if you know, you know
The NBA deep dive intro music gave me major "LittleBigPlanet" vibes if you've ever heard the music in those games mostly in the intros or whatever.
I really like the points you made. Players should be left alone to devolep into the best versions of themselves they could. Imagine Hayley Williams being constantly bombarded by Madonna comparisons or what not! It would certainly not help Paramore sound better at any capacity.
"Fuck you Jeremy" 😂
I have always hated the "Next" argument in the NBA, the next Kobe, the next LeBron, the next Steph, the next KD. Like those players, aside from Kobe who molded his game after MJ, are never going to exist again, they are called once-in-a-generation players because they will never be replicated. These comparisons do not do much than set false expectations for future players. Wiggins was set to fail from the moment he got the Kobe comparisons because there can and will not be another Kobe.
Hayley Williams - great video my guy. Always love the deep dives
I'm the next Kobe.
-Ron, The Almighty Rat King
Loved the video
Love the NEFFEX soundtrack in the background!
Hayley Williams.
Love your videos keep it up!
No one can be the next Kobe , Next Jordan , Next LeBron.
Well, technically there already exists another LeBron. LeBron made him and named him so.
Hayley Williams. I usually always watch till the end incase you have any closing arguments or something. Love the content ❤️.
“Devon booker is awesome. Jayson tatum is awesome. Andrew Wiggins-“ 😭😭😭
This video was almost as good as Hayley William’s 2007 hit ‘Misery Business’
I find it interesting that the "Next Kobe" comparisons stem from a player who wanted to be the Next Jordan.
Jayson to me is more of mix between Melo and Paul George. He doesn't even play like Kobe
Tatum plays like Carmelo and KD
To be fair when I watch booker some of his plays look absolutely identical to Kobe’s that’s why I believe he gets comparisons and that’s not saying “he’s the next kobe” he’s Devin booker his game is just eerily similar in a few different ways
"let's save the existentialism for therapy" was no expecting a call out mid video
This is your best deep dive yet Rusty
That's the part about Kobe's career that has gotten lost over time, not only did Kobe want to destroy his opponents on offense, he would gladly run back on the other side and clamp down on defense.
A lot of stars today only play on one side of the court almost like defense doesn't exist.
There's no problem with player comp in private with friends it's just pointless social media vocalisation
