We use the lock and level in the storage yard. And leave one under the wheel when in storage. No damage to the bag.

Thanks for the info, I was a bit worried about leaving it under for long periods of time, I will have to give it a go

Still a ball ache to have to drive 90 miles to the dealer to get stuff sorted and at your cost , are you using the collapse water carriers or have you ditched them as a bad egg

Hi Adrian, In all honesty I don't mind the trip to the dealers, its basically for the level of service they give us, My experience of the local dealers has not been great either. I always do it in a week day and set up in the local Costa and get loads of work done. With getting the New Caravan I haven't had chance to use the Colapz yet, I may give them a go this weekend

Hi interesting video, there are no words that can describe how insurance companies work. They all seem to be totally different. The Alco Wheel locks are a good idea but who invented them to go onto a twin axle needs shooting. I’ve had very bad experiences in trying to put both on, I also had a friend who swore by his tracker system. The van was stolen police gave Chase because of the tracker information the thieves dragged it through a field whilst being chased by the police and almost wrote it off but unfortunately didn’t so he got his van back. He is still waiting eight months later for Caravan to be repaired properly, hence no tracker, perhaps wouldn’t have seen the Caravan ever again. PS it did have two Alco wheel locks on they were taken off within seconds..we’re about in nottm are you only interested as we must be close by. Keep the vids coming . I think we’re all dying to know. Have you been using the collapse water barrels yet?😂😂😂

Hi Mike, Thanks for watching, Yes Insurance for sure is a mystery to most. I agree ref the Alko Locks, Its is known they can be removed in seconds but the Insurance companies only seem to approve them when there are far better out there, I do wonder sometimes we protect our caravans so well and hope that they are not stolen, If so and they are damaged< I know I would not want it back. I fit all the locks in the hope that it deters the thief's but if it is stolen I know I wouldn't want it back. We are in Barnstone, not far from Bingham, Between Notts & Grantham Where abouts are you. With getting the New Caravan, I haven't had chance to try the Colapz yet. Maybe I will give them a go this weekend :-)

Yes, they do seem to favour the Alco Wheel locks as they think they’re the best thing since sliced bread…. yes I’m not all that far from you. I’m at Burton Joyce hope to meet up one day.mike

Used to take ages and a few swear words jacking up the caravan to get the two ALKO locks on. I then had the compact E&P system fitted and now its a doddle 😊

E&P at the time of the Purchase of the new Caravan was a bit beyond my Budget, However it is planned as a future Purchase.

Hi James, I have a TA but I have E&P so fitting the two locks is very easy now. I wont have a van without an automatic leveller in the future. Expensive yes, worth it yes IMHO.
Can you access the van remotely ( to set heating etc etc?) I can't and don't know if it is me or is it the system that I have read needs 2g to connect. Be interested to know if you have a similar problem. I have a 2023 Bessacarr based on the Swift Elegance 850.

Hi Colin, Thanks for watching and commenting, I don't think its long before I will be getting the caravan down to MG and having E&P fitted. :-) It really does seem the way to go. Yes I can access the caravan remotely and adjust the settings, I am using the New Swift 2024 app, if that helps.

I am looking for insurance for our caravan, the ones I've been quoted for say that they will not cover third party liability and check with my car insurance. What I'm looking for is insurance to cover my caravan, and any accidental damage to any other vehicle or property that's my fault. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for commenting, I would assume any 3rd party liability damage caused by your caravan would be when you are towing. If that is the case, your car insurance should cover this 3rd party liability. Hope that helps and makes sense. James

Hi James. On our previous twin axle we used the double locknlevel when on site, but, in storage I used a single one that I kept from an older van and left it in place. It didn’t harm the locknlevel in any way as they are very robust.
On our current van we have E&P and it makes life so much easier. Might be worth an upgrade retrofit if your van can take it.

Hi Paul, that's not a bad idea, Although, I think I am just looking for reasons to go and get E&P fitted. Watch this Space. :-)

Always read the small print on insurance policies, sometimes not very clear.!!!!

Agreed I always Renew by Phone as well and get them to explain all the conditions just so I am sure, As we have storage, I am only insured to have the Caravan at home for 72 hours for packing and unpacking, Which I didn't know

I've been using Waze as my main car satnav now for a few months and I love it - BUT.. I would never use it for towing. It finds some brilliant routes avoiding traffic almost every journey but it will literally take you down any road. Some of them are even a tight squeeze with my pickup truck 😮
So when towing I use my Garmin Camper for a caravan friendly routing and leave Waze running for general traffic and holdup info.

Hi, having used Waze now for a few weeks it is great, but agree with you its not to be used with the Caravan on the back. I will stick with my Avtex Tourer :-). Like you say worth having it running in the background though :-)

Hi James I’m with CAMC Insurance and I have one Alko lock fitted on the TA along with other measures and they are happy. I don’t have contents cover as don’t leave anything valuable in the van in storage, this keeps the price down. I like the Lock and Level but didn’t fancy idea of leaving it in place in storage. I fear someone jacking van up to steal it and seriously damage the caravan. I use a Kojack to fit Alko it’s really quick to use with its bracket fitted to chassis.

Hi Colin, I am currently using the one Alko, 3 Wheel Locks 4 Steady locks and Premium Hitch Lock. I didn't like the idea of leaving the Lock N Level in place in storage also. I have the Kojac fitted and struggled to get the Caravan High Enough to Rotate the Wheel, Maybe I need to try again. I think ultimately I am justly trying to find a reason fore me to have the E&P fitted, lol

@@CaravanEscapades101 E&P is the way forward but it’s pricey. Try putting a piece of wood under your Kojack to give that bit more lift. 😁👍

Hi James 👋 thanks for the shout-out, youtube.com/@paulandsarahcaravanlife?si=fShupPnsc-1pQd_S I think it's like most products. They all produce a bad one now and again. Just the way things are these days. But it really shouldn't happen on a new caravan. Insurance we are with intersure they've always given us a great cover on the caravan always at the end of the phone if needed. Your caravan is looking extra special mate. Happy trails. Again thanks for the shout out 😊😊😊 Paul and Sarah
