@maiatarrant QRIO was a humanoid robot that was meant to be the next thing after AIBO. It was crazy advanced for the time (early 2000s). You can find videos of it here on UA-cam if you search. It was never released unfortunately because it was decided it would be too expensive
I had one of these bad boys as a kid, he was my best friend until his neck broke. 12 years later, and I've been trying to put him back together in my basement.
@@Tn21_ yeah, clutch is shot, all right. I drilled a joke through it and put a metal rod in, and the gearbox works OK now, but I busted up the sensitive printed cable. I'm gonna have to try splicing it back together. If that works? Hopefully I'm set.
I never had one of these, but I really want one. Sad story is, my parents have never heard of AIBO so, they don't know anything about robotic dogs. My parents don't even know that these exist. Isn't that sad?
I had one of these for a while.. was absolutely useless in my carpeted apartment haha.. The software was quite limited but the hardware was already there! Shame I didn't keep mine because I'd probably try to load chatgpt on it now, etc.. :D
I remember I wanted one so bad when I was younger. Still love them. Ers-210 is the cutest in my opinion
@@apple_macos_finder9853 ah yes, ers-1000 is amazing too!
It's incredible how far ahead SONY was with Aibo. I just wish that Qrio had been released as a commercial product after Aibo.

I may be able to help
did the neck break or did the neck stop lifting up (it the neck stopped lifting up its a slipping clutch)

People actually paid $6,000 for these things!! Even if I was a millionaire I would not pay that price for this thing!!
The AIBOs were listed originally for 1,500 USD. Now ERS-210's are more like 400 or 500 dollars with lots of accessories.
Language!
Don’t say ass😮
I had one of these. It was useless and boring.
Now I’m about to buy the new one.
I am hopeless at saving money.
