Sorry hadn't finished typing. We did exactly the same tour on the bus when we were in Olden. My footage looks nothing like yours, yours is amazing. What a beautiful place Norway is. Love this video. X
I have booked this cruise (Norwegian Fjords) next year (April 27) on the Sky Princess, & these videos showed me what to expect. I was on a Mediterranean cruise on the Sky Princess a year ago (April 30) & love the ship!
Great video, I see you cruised with the chadcruisers, I had the pleasure of meeting them on a little Alaska Sampler cruise in May.....Watching this makes me want to do the Norwegian fjords.............dilly dilly was had by all.
Hi both, Another great video of beautiful scenery, we love Olden ,weather was not so kind to us in June on Iona! Green tea and water !!! Thanks for showing .
WOW! What amazing scenery and such great music. You two are a joy to watch - so funny! The food looks scrumptious especially the sushi. Thanks again for another brilliant video. 🤗🤗
Just home from Norway on Iona and catching up with your vlogs. I have to agree it's a beautiful place and will definitely go back. Enjoying Princess vlogs may have try the ship.
Beautiful, been a few years since , but next time get a cabin with balcony to enjoy the absolute fantastic scenery, great video lads, 🙂Amanda, love Sky Princess just been on baltic cruise, brilliant!!!! X
Norway is just stunning! A balcony is definitely the way to go but we also say if you cant, insides are fine - just get up on deck early for the amazing 360 views that even those in balconies don't get ;)
We sat here with red wine in hand to watch this episode 🍷 Great entertainment again, and brought it all back (we were the 2 on the balcony waving 👋😃) Don't know if you've got a new phone/camera but video quality has been fantastic on this series. Hope to bump into you both again on another cruise. 👍 John & Carole
Loving this episode 😊we are off on Princess on the 20th August 2022, Land of the midnight sun cruise, thanks for your tips on excursions, the hop on hop off bus looks like a must 👍🍷🍹
Ohhhh, fabulous, that will be a wonderful cruise! We'd highly recommend the Loen skylift in Olden - easy to DIY but does cost about £70pp but the views are spectacular!
@@CruiseMonkeys And thankful I am! It is challenging Mt Cook, Ring of Kerry, and Banff for the most gorgeous vistas. 😁 of course you are the icing on the cake!
Top video as always and what a epic opening with that music and scenery. I look forward to my trip to Norway and Arctic Circle even more now this coming October.
What spectacular scenery - I can understand why you’d want to be by a window/on the balcony. I’m so glad I’ve booked to go to Norway next year. Those breakfast muffins look yummy, as did the sushi too. Looks like you had a lot of fun.
Things that surprised me: 1 - you have to set up your own table in the pizza place; 2 - that it's free - surely it should be? & 3 - you have to pay extra for the sushi restaurant and to get ice cream. Surely you pay enough for the cruise in the first place! Beautiful scenery, well captured, and it seems you've been lucky with the weather which is never guaranteed in coastal Norway even in the summer.
The table was because we requested to eat outside, they hadn't though anyone would want to. Didn't bother us though. On most mainstream lines you will have restaurants on ships that charge extra, so it is worth checking. Ocean Terrace is what they call a speciality restaurant, this means you pay extra for them, obviously there is always the buffet, main dining room, the pool grill and Medallion food on demand all of which is free. Same for the gelato - soft serve is available for free by the poo. You could easily cruise and not spend a penny extra... many do exactly that - we've seen 7 night cruises for under £500 which is better value than a uk city break! Thanks for watching.
It took me three days to find the time to sit and watch this episode and it was worth the wait! You're right, the scenery is spectacular! On my Regal Cruise, the veal pockets were the best thing I ate all week. The second best was the chicken salad sandwich, late at night from the international café. The night time chef realized that by the second night I loved them so she set one aside for me every night after that. Service was astounding!
The service on princess ships is really something! The staff work so hard. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Norway really is fantastic, so beautiful 🤩
Lads that’s just taken us back to 2018 when we were there, stunning location. We went on a walk just opposite were the ship docked, breathtaking. We were on regal last year and Alfredo’s was superb, best pizza on the sea and the tiramisu was off the scale.all he. Great vlog lads, all the best now.
Lovely to see Olden again, had a beautiful sunny day there in April - had a walk up a winding hill then an afternoon on deck in the sunshine drinking cocktails 🍹 😊
Great video! Thank you! We are booked for Iceland and Norway june 2023 onboard NCL Prima. Looking forward to it. We haven't decided on excursions yet. Window shopping at the moment, checking out people's adventures.
We managed to do Norway and Iceland back in 2019, we went on a 14 night cruise on P&O Arcadia. We do have a whole series of vlogs for that cruise if your interested here’s the link to those videos⬇️ we highly recommend the itinerary for sure! 👌🏻 ua-cam.com/play/PLlyIX6uGK99Q_ZpaMPwBFU20Ic5Bb58uN.html

Ah yes, the airfare can double the cost long haul! We'd love to do Alaska but it the air to get over than knocks the price up! We will do it one day :)
What a very fun day! I think the bus tour was an amazing way to see Olden. Great cinematography skills as always 😎 And you went to my two favourite food places International Cafe yummy sandwiches and Alfredo’s yummy veal agnolotti (I dream about that dish 😂). I really need to try Ocean Terrace I’m usually too full from meals but I love sushi and it all looked so well made and colourful. All in all another great day with the 🙊☺️
Oh, you really should try Ocean Terrace, it is so good, actually all the food was. It was so nice to eat out on deck in Alfredo's with a beautiful view :)
Hahaha! We sure can! We will one day make it down under and to NZ it’s on our list! There’s so so much to see! Thanks for watching and commenting Arthur 👌🏻 we really appreciate it! ❤️⚓️
Have a broken ankle right now so seeing you guys walk all over the place is kind of making it hurt. However, then it seems to feel better the more you guys drink lol
Loved this video! Me and my family will be doing a similar itinerary but for 2 weeks on the same ship starting this Friday!! I just wanted to ask what time the tour to Briskdal glacier is? And thank you for all the recs, really making me excited for the cruise :)
Have a fab time! The times are 9:30 and 11 for Briskdal (www.oldencruise.com/shore-excursions/briksdal-glacier-shuttle-bus/). The one we took ran all day :)
Hope you don’t mind me sharing this info on your channel.Spoke to princess cruises this morning and they said you can now take a lateral flow test at home and take a picture of the results on your phone . Ready to show at boarding.
Love Olden and will be there again when travelling on Sky Princess in couple of weeks. However........... please tell me I'm not going mad! I thought you'd already put up a vlog about your day in Olden including the land train but that seems to have disappeared and you're on the open top bus!
I can confirm you are sane, you’ve not lost the plot😂 the video your thinking of was from our P&O Arcadia Norwegian Fjords, Iceland & Ireland cruise 3 years ago. Last time we went to Olden we done the skylift and the troll train, here’s the link⬇️ ua-cam.com/video/GJ_j8dMhRx4/v-deo.html Enjoy your upcoming cruise! ❤️⚓️
@@CruiseMonkeys Thank you so much. Very glad I hadn't imagined it all, although now we have to decide between the land/troll train and the open topped bus! The Loen sky lift will be very much weather dependant.
The sightseeing open top bus takes you to a glacier (not close up, you see it in the distance) The troll train doesn’t go to the glacier it takes you along the fjord sort of around “the lake” and back along the opposite side. For the skylift you just need it to be dry, but not totally cloudy, broken clouds are best because you can see them moving along without sacrificing the view of Olden below 👌🏻 hope this helps
Another lovely vlog - the scenery really is stunning. A question though, I've never been on a cruise but it seems really noisy - the sound of people and the music in the 'wine bar' you were in was quite offputting to me. Is that how it always is or are some ships quieter than others? 😀
The scenery was incredible! Absolutely breathtaking! Honestly we can’t recommend the fjords enough! There’s a lot of atmosphere on cruise ships, live pianists, singers, string quartets etc that sort of thing but it’s not constant and no at every bar. We’ve bee. On some ships that are very very quiet and laid back like P&O Arcadia, we’ve been on full on party cruises like MSC Virtuosa and then some middle of the road like Princess. I know it sounds a bit naff but there really is a cruise line/ship for everyone, there’s a lot of variety so it’s worth looking into them before booking, UA-cam is great for that! Hope this helps 👍🏻
Hi guys. Hope all is well. Spending too much time watching the vids 😅 A couple of questions if that's OK. 1. What money do we need to take if any or an I just use my debit card? 2. Our first cruise coming up Iona the Ffords and watched your video on the Iona. My question is... we are thinking of doing 14 days from Southampton next year to Spain can you recommend a ship? Cheers M&M 🍻
Hahaha, thank you! Ohh, enjoy your first cruise and the beautiful Iona. We always use our Monzo debit card - no foreign currency charges. Cards very widely accepted in Norway, just like the UK. Well what we would say, wait till you are on Iona, if you love it, take a look at Arvia for next year - she's coming this winter and is going to be Iona's sister sailing down the med next summer :) If you book onboard you might be able to get a reduced deposit or extra Onboard Credit. Your other options would possibly be a Cunard (more formal than P&O) or MSC (more Mediterranean so a mix of passengers, different languages and etc). We've cruised with both, so it would depend what you are after. You might also find Royal Caribbean go from Southampton too, but we've not sailed with them yet... Hope that's of some help - feel free to join our Facebook group and ask there too - you'll get a good range of responses then :)
You can fit both in! They’re both brilliant but the Loen Skylift was absolutely spectacular if you’re short on time or not wanting to cram too much in we’d recommend the skylift over the open top bus/train. We have a vlog where we do both on the same day try this video ⬇️ ua-cam.com/video/GJ_j8dMhRx4/v-deo.html
Yes, where the ship docks is where the bus and trolley train go from, they are constantly coming and going and there’s vendors there in red selling the tickets. If you want to go further afield such as the Loen skylift, you can book those tickets at the little shop just to the side of the dock area, it’s around £70 and includes the transfer to the skylift. They also have tours going to Briskal glacier, leaving around 9:30 and 11. Check out www.oldencruise.com for prices, times and tickets. Olden is a tiny place so you can’t go wrong with directions 😀
Lovely port call been to Norway but not the fjords you should consider a trip to Australia & NZ Princess do a sailing around Aust & down To NZ you could join in Perth to make it more manageable $ wise and time.
We’d really like to travel down under and it’s definitely on our list. Hopefully fingers crossed as things move on we’ll find travel more accessible and be able to do it. It’s a long way to go atm vs the complications around flying testing etc
Thanks for your reply air travel will slowly get better Qantas has at least 2 flights a day from Heathrow I have done the trip many times to visit London and join P&O cruises from Southampton we are use to the long flight from Australia
Hope you enjoyed this video! Have you ever been to Olden? If so how did you spend the day? Did you enjoy it? 👌🏻
