INFO: So this is a bit of a different video. I thought i'd create some King Crimson fan artwork, talk a bit about In the Court of the Crimson King and finally about what's been going on behind-the-scenes lately. Hope you enjoy!
What band/album/artist should i talk about next? Comment here!
Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart
A video about "the JPT Scareband", its a really unknown band that made some really heavy good songs they recorded there music back around 1972-1976 but it was put out in the 90s, the unknown pioneers of proto-metal. hope you'll like it.
Alice in Chains
Lie Likes Music black midi, best new band in my opinion and they’re truly a band that’s doing something innovative. They have this blend of experimental rock, math rock, noise rock and post punk that sounds really interesting
Death Grips please
King Crimson doesn't slap, it punches straight through you.
Bruno, Abbachio and Narancia can confirm
Subtle but still a Jojo reference.
Ah I see
It is a JoJo reference but it's still true for the band
King Crimson bakes donuts using you.
If you haven't heard about it yet, the 2019 remaster of Court of the Crimson King is fuuuuucking fantastic. Plus it comes with instrumental, alternate mix, and original mix versions.
2019 is a remix from the multitrack tapes, not a remaster
Of course it is. Steven Wilson remaster it
Bro Yoda
I was introduced to King Crimson via jojos and I’ve never heard such beautiful music in my life
@@temporarymomentary 2019 is a completely new mix. It is not a remaster.
Kirby's Adventure Music I know. I own every single mix and remaster.
this is a good format, I liked it. I'd probably not watch it "anytime", but whenever I'm relaxing I'd put a video like this one on
King Crimson is the greatest progressive rock band ever
Pink Floyd and Mastodon are some honerable mentions imo
Mike Oldfield & The Moody Blues.
TOOL
YES, Porcupine Tree, Gentle Giant, Camel and Rush also.
Black Phillip Please don’t forget Jethro Tull
I still think it’s funny how In the Court of the Crimson King somehow still got taken off said “shady website.” Also you should do a general discography guide to King Crimson! They have such an impressive discography. Or at least maybe do a video on stuff like Larks’ Tongues or Red or Discipline.
I'll see what i can do. Can't promise anything, but i've always wanted to check out more of their discography tbh.
Lie Likes Music It’s all pretty great tbh. There’s a couple stinkers here and there, but most all of it is really fantastic.
I think Red is better than ItCotKC. Fripp and Co. really took progressive rock to a new level on that record.
deep cuts already has you covered on that guide ua-cam.com/video/KcdGDNNvUO4/v-deo.html
My dad use to scare me with this album's cover , i was 7 or 8 yO ... now is a little tattoo in honor of him.
(!Great video Man!)
Destructive Power: A
The king has returned
Which one? Lie or Crimson?
@@juankgonzalez6230 Requiem
I juste love the way you talk freely, randomly
Wish you well for your projects and everything
Please keep going, Lie. You're one of my favorite music UA-camrs. I have always thoroughly enjoyed your videos. I can completely understand the creative boredom that you've been going through, so I'm excited for any new type of content that you decide to put out in to the world.
heya, im lemonyfreshdoodles, one of the artists that was featured at the end- just wanted to clarify i have an instagram under that name, but not a Twitter. thanks :)
Whoops, my bad. A big thanks to you (or your friend i guess) for contributing
Lie Likes Music no problem, it was a fun commission :)
Lie Likes Music thank you for featuring me!
i'll likely watch your content what ever it focuses on, it's always really well done regardless of script/amount of editing etc. keep it up lie
Thanks for the support! It means a great deal to me
BUT HOW DOES IT WORK??!?!
king crimson has a deep and rich history that deserves to be explored by more people. Thank you for making this video!
*giorno giovanna*
Really enjoyed this video, and I appreciate how down to earth it feels.
I like videos like this but I also REALLY enjoyed your video essay type videos
I don't think Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" is a cover, more like a bite...also Sun Ra is much older than King Crimson (Sun Ra himself left the planet in 1993 R.I.P.)
I never mentioned Iron Man in the video. I said Ozzy Osbourne did a cover of 21st Century Schizoid Man.
My apologies! You are absolutely right, I stand corrected, I assumed you were referring to Iron Man because I, personally, have always thought that it was inspired by 21st Century Schizoid Man secretly as Black Sabbath has always been more well known. I was completely unaware that Ozzy had covered it '05 until your response. I just listened to it this morning and the fact that he covered it furthers my previous belief. Thank you!
I love your channel pleasee never stop making videos
This is good format, but I thing it is one time thing. I am very enjoing your videos about band, artist and music facts. It is very interisting and person can relate more to the band and artist. Keep doing good work :)
King crimson is never click bait.
I thoroughly enjoyed this
I just bought the record yesterday and listened to it it’s so cool
Saw Adrian Belew like a year ago.
Probably one of the best live shows I've even been to.
I loooove your animations, even the talking head ones =)
What do you use in photoshop to get that oil paint feel in your brushes? Great video!
Take your time man. By the way, nice format.
Hey man i know this is an “old” video and probably you won’t see this but i love this new format and the channel in general, hope you are doing well, can’t wait for more
Through this entire video I realized I can no longer ignore the question of why he has so many cheekbones
I think the idea is that he is being shredded to pieces.
Their discog is amazing. Larks is great, but my favorite jam by them is Sailor's Tale. Give it a listen if ya haven't!
Fucking awesome song. Love the menacing drone at the the closer.
I have been practicing digital art lately, thanks for this video, I learned some techniques that I like. King Crimson is so good, also, have you listened to Three of a Perfect Pair?
Thanks for watching. Nope. What kind of music do they make? I think i've heard of them before
Lie Likes Music toapp is an album by king crimson
@@LieLikesMusic Three of a Perfect Pair is a King Crimson album from the 1981-1984 group. It's the 3rd release after Discipline and Beat. This would be the Fripp/Belew/Levin/Bruford incarnation.
Yeah its pretty much my favorite album by them, overlooked and pretty good.
It just works
King Crimson has a very vast and diverse discography. Gets your creative juices flowing
Wait til this guy discover Giles, Giles and Fripp
Close to the Edge - Yes
I like it.
50th anniversary they released the acapella for Three of a Perfect Pair and it's outstanding!
They really are ridiculously underrated for how great they are
I don't think they're underrated. A lot of people in the rock community acknowledge them as one of the best from what i know.
21st century video man!
I didnt mind the casual style, if you want to do it again I say go for it.
me: sees title
me, audibly: wbk
Oh boi i remember when i was doing a print of the in the court of the crimson king making like a hurricane with the face, idk how to explain It xD but my teacher in art accademy asked me why i draw demons ... i was like bruh... lol
How about a video about understanding icp
I’d love to hear you talk about Joni Mitchell
When I lived in England a guy in a pub told me a story that they were booked at the wrong venue ...kind of a normal people bar ..and they were a freak out band...they saw the crowd and thought fuck it we are here...as soon as they started playing EVERYBODY in the room moved to the walls away from the middle but no one left.
Hey have you listened to The Brian Jonestown Massacre? If you haven’t you totally should! They are like the perfect mix between 90s Alternative and Shoegaze and 60s Rock and Psychedelic Rock.
Greg Lake has the best coloring book
I've been thinking about doing album fan art myself, nice to see what you created with this iconic cover. Really cool
Go for it! I'm glad you liked this
This video slaps except I can’t see the drawing at the end because of the pop ups
I need you to do a video on their Red Album. A full Heavy Metal masterpiece that could give Black Sabbath a run for their money
The Colorization Channel I love Red but goddamn are you wrong about that Jesus Christ. Calling King Crimson Metal is like calling Green Day hardcore Punk.
Alpha Royale just listen to that album. They're probably just prog metal
The Colorization Channel Prog Metal is Dream Theater or Opeth while King Crimson is prog Rock. They’re definitely a great prog rock band but they’re certainly not metal. The only really “heavy” song they ever did was 21st century schizoid man. That’s what I think at least.
Alpha Royale listen to the title track on Red
@@basserman listen to the title track on Red
Do a video about no doubt pls
why is nobody talking about the Thrak album? Amazing!
I listened to "Court of the Crimson King" early in my training...
Now I'm an evil scientist.
Fripp founded DGM, King Crimson's label. So the people taking down Crim videos work for him, or at least for someone he put in place. Still pissed that they uploaded the entire 21st Century Guide ON THE OFFICIAL KC CHANNEL and then took it down later. Goes to show that no one escapes the Frippman's takedowns, not even Fripp himself.
Best tracks from Larks', Red, and SaBB are still up though. Happy with what I have to be happy with tbh.
Will you be making a video on Iron Maiden? Cheers!
REMEMBERING PHYSICAL GRAFFITI!!!!
*KING CRIMSON NO NORYOKU!*
how can i download that pic yo
Check out the Japanese band Fishmans.
I have. They're amazing!
Look mom, I'm famous!
Love the drawing! :)
General recipe for rambling videos is this: find a topic you want to talk about it. Make a few notes. Show and tell things about it. Might need a few takes, but try to stay somewhat on topic, cover the related things but not too broad like it was here. Could’ve made this video on King Crimson, in actuality it has been a mix of personal updates and whatnot.
BTW: If you need to know how I got here, I’m not gonna call myself a huge fan, but this is really not the first video of yours I’ve seen, first one being somewhere in 2018 or 2017 when I got into audio more.
^ Speaking from experience watching several channels that do little editing. Most notably, Buildzoid from Actual Hardcore OverClocking.
TL;DR: Please try to stay on topic. You don’t have to be too strict about it, but keep an eye on how much of the video is on topic and how much isn’t.. if it gets over half on isn’t - maybe you selected the title/topic wrong?
P.S. rambling is a little bit more niche than “regular” videos, so you’ve been warned.
Best regards.
Thanks for the great feedback! I'll definitely keep this in mind for future videos. It's rare that i get so much constructive advice in one comment. Have a great week man.
Thanks GioGio
Please talk about death grips next
Prefer your video essays much more, but you make free shit for us to watch so I can’t really complain. You do you.
The first four then second 3 are the best King Crimson albums....
Perfect! You are doing this photoshop painting so well ... also you can use my pencil/paper 😁 fanart if you like!
Cool! I'll see if i can include it in my next one. Thanks a bunch
Check out Maynards cover of "21st century schizoid man" by KC. And the duet of KC and Tool. Its AWESOME!!!
Wut? I didn't know they had a duet!!! How could i miss this..
@@LieLikesMusic its like an entire live album playing their songs together!! ua-cam.com/play/PLk_vCtRQiKj49kD3AVKMt5ewEL9un93yz.html
Yeees
But how does it work?
You should make a vid about twenty one pilot's album Trench, love the shit you make bro so if you see this just want you to know that keep going because the content is interesting and cool
Give me the arrow kid
Understanding Bob Dylan is needed
dude king crimson is amazing when you’re high
dude weed lol
@@joeymarcelo777 Smoke dat kush brah
Maybe podcast like episodes
I've thought about that. Any spesific things you'd like me to talk about in that case?
I was so scared of this cover when i was a kid.....honestly,it still makes me feel weird.
That makes sense haha
it really is pretty damn disconcerting
you should listen to kvelertak!
Ffs! I love King Crimson but you had me bored to tears after 2 minutes.
Didn’t ask 😐
@@chi6423 Did you watch the video? The guy literally did ask. Even mentioned that critique is how you grow in this very same video.
"Muh jojo reference EXDEEEEEEE"
"OMGOD TheSe JoJo F anS aRe So dUmB aMirIte, i'M dEfiNitElY nOt A bOomEr"
i unironically believe anime is revenge for hiroshima... i mean kono dio da giorno's piano god took the wrong son XDD
Why did the video end so quickly ?
Do you listen to Jethro Tull? Please make a video on them.
Korega...Requiem...da.
You should check out this band called dopapod.if you’re into king crimson you’d prolly dig
Thanks for the suggestion ;)
Please do a video on TIM BUCKLEY!!!!

Insert Robert Fripp striking down this video joke
Has anyone figured out the difference between a banger and a slapper yet?
One is American and one is British
You should make a video 'bout sun ra couse there nothing about him on youtube
I really want to. His music is crazy good!
This video: *exists*
Jojo fans: It's free real estate
Um yeah
But Discipline is still their best album
Wha-
I yawned.
Mkay
do a mgmt video
my least favorite part of king crimson are the jojo fans who dont actually like their music
It has genuinely served as an intro to king Crimson for some, though. It introduced me to them as well as some more of my favorite brands, like pink floyd
I found King Crimson tru Jojo and now I have a whooole Lp collection lol. But I do agree that the references can get annoying sometimes
@@Rupninjatrash im a huge jojo fan but i cant stand the references
Bruh, I got hooked up by a bunch of band that's not just The Beatles or Queen because of JoJo, so thank you JoJo, very cool.

The severe lack of JoJokes is disturbing.
