  • At least it wasn't -2 deg this year! Yes, I know the irony needing water whilst its raining. Came 11th out of 21 in class and 88th out of 155 overall with a total race time of 126:52 minutes. It was really nice seeing lots of familiar faces, a great way to start my 4th year riding dirt bikes!

    Great job -- especially for your first time at the BB! I too was glad about it not being freezing cold but the heavier rain than forecast helped do me in after the 5th test.

      ahhhh i did spot you at the riders meeting but you were right over the otherside, then being the start of the season there was lots of other people to say hi to and by then I lost sight of you and it was time to get ready to go! I saw a drone flying around and thought, bet that's Wildman haha :D

    It was fun racing with you for the first couple tests. You definitely have a good pace in this stuff. That extra test killed me. I couldn't go fast enough for the front tire to spit the mud and it was just one big mud slick that would go in whatever direction it wanted to. But like you said, at least it wasn't cold! Maybe an out-of-shape old guy on a 20 year old KTM 525 wasn't the best combo but I did have fun before the rain made it greasy.

      It was great racing with you too! One of the tests you absolutely smoked me by over 30s if i recall correctly! ahhh you had to do the split test too, everyone told me it was horrific haha?! Also you said it was your first time on that bike since quite some time back last year?

    Not sure if it's the fish eye effect from the GoPro but to me it looks like your clutch and brake lever are tilted upwards slightly. They should never be this way that is very hard on your wrists. Have them level at the very most but most people like them titled down a bit especially for when you're standing. Give it a try I'm sure all those wrist issues you said you're having will totally go away. Hope this helps Cheers!

      Thanks man! yeah its definitely the fish eye making them look up and probably doesn't help my hand gaurds are literally upwards haha, the levers are flat, but as you pointed out ive now angled them down a little bit to help when im standing and perhaps when I fully turn and my arm is extended right down. kinda excited to go try it properly on the trails this weekend haha.

      @@staples_601 the excitement caught her out, but thankfully shes not badly injured. I was honestly terrified id over ride having basically not ridden in 5 months aside from 1 day at burnt river. I think most of us are in that position to be fair. nice ride, how many kms did you end up doing? / how much gas did you use

    • @woodlandwugui
      @woodlandwugui  2 місяці тому +2

      i completed it, i think i was just shy of 130km, not sure on my gas, i just topped off each time i passed the fuel truck, I brought about 9 extra litres of fuel, and there was plenty spare by the 2nd stop. Once i made it to 80km before having to turn on my reserve. so i think i can get 90 to a tank on single trail riding in 3rd.

      @woodlandwugui  2 місяці тому

      @@jamesdenton3692 Thank you for hauling our fuel! But yeah an extra 20 litres is a lot of extra fuel! I was hearing figures of 150km day when I asked friends, so i figured 2 tanks was enough and I have a 9l tank giving me around 160 to 180km range. Depending on how much mud slop rear wheel spinning i was committing to haha. Maybe on the future enduro event flyers the rough km for the event could be listed so we can better gauge how much fuel to bring.
