This video has given me the only perspective on my crash as I didn’t see what rear ended me

      @@woodlandwuguithanks for the sentiment.
It was my first attempt at racing. I got caught on the sidelines in the wrong place. I have hurt my ribs and my spine hurts.
My ribs feel a lot better but my spine still hurts. Hopefully it’ll all get better so I can keep riding with my boy.
I still don’t understand how someone could have rear ended me. I’m not in it for the blood just trying to have some fun

@@mikebelperio2579 oof, gutting to hear, I assume you went to the docs for a quick check over if your spine hurts? hopefully its just bruising and itll heal up well soon. I 100% can see how you got rear ended at that corner, the excitement of coming out of the barn on the first lap, then a slight off camber blind corner over a slight crest meant he overcooked it on the straight and with it also narrowing had no area to run off and unfortunately hit you. But never the less, i hope you recover and can ride again with your lad soon, and come back to race in future!

Thanks for your concern and I certainly don’t blame anyone for the situation
I’m going to check it out as most of the other injuries have gotten considerably better. I’m also hoping its just bruising and will heal with time

      Great news
I just returned from the doctor and was told I just need more time to heal
He didn’t even think an X-ray was necessary

Wish I could have been there. Waiting on a tiny, but critical part.
Price ranges from $50 (online/aftermarket), to $240 at the bike dealer to $750 for the same part at a car dealer (Yikes!!!!). So much for my plan of going to a car dealer to get the part quicker...LOL!
Looks like is was a great day, and Cochrane's is a great course.
Always enjoy your videos and I appreciate you helping the economy by contributing the cost of a new fender to the collective wealth!

Luckily for me, I was a telephone repairman while in school, I'm trained in electronics for scientific applications and I teach (among other things) how to create machines that interface microprocessors and sensors/motors, so I'm less intimidated than most.
Once fixed my car's air conditioning after taking an oscilloscope home and reading the signals going to it.
I put in a new sensor last night. $48 off Amazon instead of $240 at the dealer. Cheap chinese knock-off.
REALLY hard to start, got the code again and when I bench tested the sensor, it was fried in the exact same way at the first one.
Took apart all of the wiring on the bike and cleaned all the connections. Metered the three wires coming from the sensor.
All three registered conductivity with miniscule resistance - GREAT!
Then I checked between the wires. Ground wire was zero conductivity to the other wires - perfect. Signal wire to input voltage wire was 6.8 kOhm - BAD!!!!
Examined the wire loom and found that the wires for this sensor had been rubbing on the frame (bike has over 500 hours on it), and had rubbed through the insulation a touch. Add a bit of dirty moisture and you've got a short circuit. Moved the wires away from each other and cleaned everything.... zero conductivity.
It's nice when you find the physical flaw. Lot less tossing and turning at night when you know what's causing the problem.
Since no fraying of wire, I just encased each wire separately in silicone and heat shrink tubing wrap and will do another round of this over the whole bundle tonight.
The partial short circuit was sending bad readings to the ECU AND blowing up my sensors (they don't like it when voltage is applied to their output pin).
I felt a bit of funny hesitation/surging at low throttle once or twice at RJ's, but that was only one of MANY reasons I was super slow that race...LOL!
Now that I've got the root cause sorted, I'll get a good OEM sensor in and not worry about this again for another 8 years.
I will, of course, meter the Fuel injector, temp sensor and throttle position wires while I've still got everything apart...

@DanielHelc would be cool, but im not sure where that would fit within the classes, and it would be almost impossible to slide another race in there. They definitely need there own time slot, maybe with e-moto do a 1 hour race.
