Welcome to my PS4 Pro unboxing video. The PS4 Pro features some improvements over the stock PS4 (PlayStation 4). The new PS4 Pro is capable of 4K resolution for many existing titles. The PS4 Pro is also 4K capable for both Netflix anf UA-cam playback. So if given the choice PS4 Pro vs PS4 which will you go for?

So, to sum it up...
- 4k TV - check
- 4k capable console - check
- any good 4k games?.. Ok, any 4k games? Any games at all?..

there is no such thing as a 4k game games are not pre-recorded footage they are rendered at the resolution you tell them to, the ps4 pro or xbox one s are not 4k capable consoles and i dont believe you can change the resolution on your games when playing on consoles
thats why you go PC, you can play at any resolution you want with out being locked to a fixed number
4K Blu-Ray... can't play it...
Skyrim is rendered at native 4K resolution and 30fps on the Pro. There are a few other games already out that render at native 4K, and there will be more to come.
The console doesn't do native 4k and never will end of story.

You do know you can plug in a PC to a TV and most games nowadays have native controller support right?
I don't want that kind of relaxtion. When I play. I PLAY. I get full into the game and I want to master it or I'm not even bothering. I got other ways to relax. Having a few craft beers with a nice game going on or some interesting video on youtube. That's relaxing for me. When it comes to games I get serious about it becasue if I'm wasting time I want to at least be good at wasting time.

@@yuhyuh5674 They are enterteniment for sure but I'm not really relaxed when I'm playing 2k with some of my friends. We take those games seriously. Is a way to zone the world out for an hour or two. We've been playing like that for years and years and you reach a level of playing that's almost art. You know every angle,every animation,you understand the rhtym of the game and then you aply all of that know how into 1 game. You don't reach that level with just having fun. I would play a season with the worst team on hall of fame just so I could get better. There wasn't much fun but thats how you learn to play. You learn to score with the worst team on the most difficult settings. Then you get a decent team and play vs your friend and you are flying on the court and you start having real fun. Then he beats you. And you go back to findin a new way to beaet him. And it goes on and on.

BoLo Vruinz - Editor The X1s had a 2TB harddrive and a 4K bluray drive. both having an effect on the price. The X1s is actually the cheapest 4k bluray player. Both consoles are worth their price.

Even if you don't have a 4k screen, keep in mind that a lot of games run at resolutions below 1080p on the base console and usually run at lower or less consistent framerates

I happened to pick up a PS4 Pro, second hand from a local pawn brokers, to replace the original version that had broken down prior. Boy was I impressed!
I hate the argument that Pc Gaming is cool, but I like to game from my couch. You can do that on PC. I game on PC on my couch on a big screen tv with any wireless controller I want. Xbox one PS4 whatever. The only argument for consoles over PC is exclusive games. That's it. Any other argument is bullshit.
PS Now and Xbox Play Anywhere kind of destroyed the exclusives argument too. Only console(s) with exclusives now are the Wii U and the upcoming Switch

Also if its your first pc you are gonna need a nice mouse,keyboard and monitor and the price goes up by another 300-400$. Chandon Aaron Your argument is invalid. The ps4 pro supports 4K gaming which can't be done on another pc for 400 dollars. Also, it is a fact that consoles have a better price point for what you get looking at the hardware. Sony and Microsoft made deals with the chipmakers to make custom part which are quite powerful at a lower cost. The chipmakers know that these systems sell well so that's why they make these deals. Some consoles will even sell at a loss to be paid afterwards with psplus or xboxlive and games. But you are right about the customization part. When you build a pc with parts you can choose en build it yourself it will cost lower eventually.
Mick Gerritsen He said build a pc, not buy one from best buy. If you build it yourself, you can have a pc that beats this console and costs just as much (with the added benefit of being able to swap a piece after a few years if you want to)
I don't have a ps4 pro, or xbox one . I am a PC gamer, but its funny to see all these people saying how ps4 pro is a waste, not "real" 4k, not worth it, pc is better, xbox is better, LIKE WTF!! pcs aren't that much more expensive than consoles (for equal/better performance) plus there's no online fee
because most of the PC fanboys are nerds, playing alone, wasting 3-4k parents money for a good pc, and hoping that they are cool

You can buy a good pc with the same graphics as a ps4 for about $600 if you saved up over time say $1000 you'd be set for years to come and you can have every console game to date (mostly) and PC exclusives all on the same device instead of owning a Playstation 1,2,3 and 4. The games are cheaper to buy over time as well. Pc can handle more do more, has expandable storage, and looks better. These are not opinions they are all facts. A good console game every now and then is good too that's why I have a PS4 as well.

It's so useless to have Netflix and UA-cam on the ps4 pro, because I don't think anyone would buy one if they don't have a 4K tv, and all 4K tvs are smart tvs, so they already have Netflix and UA-cam.
PS4 Pro has way more horsepower than any smart tv. 4k UA-cam and Netflix will look better on the PS4 Pro.
If UA-cam or Netflix change the 4k video format in a year or two, PS4 Pro will get updated. How about your smart tv that you got on sale at Walmart? Probably not.

Good stuff...Nice to see a honest review of the Pro...I’m not picking up a 4K set until next year with Horizon, but trade in and sales made upgrading not cost over $200, so was an easy purchase.
All talk, at no point was it plunged in and turned on, so how do you know if it sucks or not if you haven't even used it?
I owned a PS4 slim. But even though I don't have a pro version I wouldn't say that way because I know the improvements are immersive. It was my wish to pick the pro but the gaming store has no available so I have no choice but to pick the slim, but although whichever PS4 model you got is the best. You have a nice unboxing video and hope that console is still in great condition.

What I find more laughable than the console itself is the irony in the fact that they boasted about not having to upgrade every few years "like we do"...

(Not that the thing would run above 30 anyways)

I've been playing on just a basic 500GB playstation 4 for about 2-3 years now and I've been wanting to upgrade to a 1TB cause it gets abit annoying having to delete and redownload games 24/7 but I might aswell just spend the extra 50$ and get the pro.
Spend the money on an external hard drive, 50 dollars could get you at least 4 TB. Working out well for me.

FYI you can build or buy a mini PC that wreks the PS4 pro starting at 600 bucks (w/ AMD 8K CPU and a 1050Ti or AMD equivalent), play on the couch with any controller of your choice (Steam, Xbox, PS4) on Steam Big Picture for a smooth interface, and still have a PC to work on, with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse if you want to it on the TV or on another screen where either stream it or move it to said screen. But yeah, buy a console with bad looking games and paying online suscription

Yes 600 bucks, you can even lower that price by taking only 4 gigs on ram to upgrade later and a cheaper case. Plus the PS4 Pro doesn't run any game in native 4K, it runes them in 900p / 1080p and upscales them, you can totally do that on a pc with a 1050Ti or equivalent. You can also buy a refurbish or used gtx 970 for about 150$ that can run the witcher 3 in very high 60 FPS while your PS4 can barely reach 30fps out of fights. And it's futur proof for super long, you won't play the games in ultra in 3 years, but you'll still run them better than a ps4. Also the pro enhancement are done by the studios so you don't have any guarantee that there will be any, or that they'll be good. And a pc can do what a console does (except better) and a console can't do a tenth of what a pc does.
Big picture is really cool to use on a tv, and if you don't like the steam controller, you still have the choice between xbox 360, xbox One or PS4.

not to get in to the console vs pc bullshit but yes that is true.. you can totally play on your tv with a controller with pc.. i don´t know why people don´t get that.. i always see people who prefer consoles arguing about how they are better because you can sit in a couch with a controller but i guess they don´t really researh about options other than keyboard and mouse.

Literally all this is a ps4 with an overclocked APU, and the ability to stream 4k.
It’s still not really a 4K-capable machine, but both AMD at launch and Sony have acknowledged this. But with some advanced rendering and upscaling techniques baked into the Sony silicon the PS4 Pro will be able to display games on a 4K screen with increased fidelity over the original machine’s 1080p delivery. It will be interesting to see more details of exactly what those tricks are and whether they'll be able to deliver any visual improvements to PCs with AMD hardware inside them.

It's playback at 4K not actual "4K gaming experience" it's called 1080P upscaled.

Basically it renders games at 1080P or whatever resolution the devs get the game to run decently and then streches it to 4k.
It's like when you take a picture and stretch it so that it looks low quality, but it is bigger.
Very few titles can support native 4k resolutions on the ps4, and not many, if any, can run it at a stable 60 fps. It only plays 1800p on few games that are graphically less intense too, like Killing Floor 2. It is hardly a 4k machine, but what can you expect when it is only $400? You'd be hard pressed to find a PC that cheap that can reliably play 4k, and ps4 pro is no different.

I have the old One Ps4 that i bought for a couple months ago but i want to upgrade! My Ps4 has also turned itself off sometimes like 4 times tottaly (that's wierd cause i have also changed the thermal paste). Should i upgrade? If so then i want a white PS4 pro or ps4 slim the day of play special edition (it's the same price on both consoles). I of course really want them both, the Ps4 PRO is more powerful but the slim is a special edition ps4 console with some improvements since the old Ps4.

no way this thing is running 4k native for $400, its up-scaled from 1080p. you would need over $1k in graphics cards to run 4k at a smooth 60 fps, and that's not including the rest of the computer. stop making people think this thing will run true 4k cause its just not possible at this price point.
