KNITTING 101: Long tail cast on

KNITTING 101: Learn the long tail cast on. This method is one of the most standard types of "casing on" or "getting yarn on your needles to begin knitting. It acts as a base for stitches to build upon. There are MANY ways to cast on, but this is a great beginner cast on. Keep practicing...it's strange at first but you'll get the hang of it!
Each loop on the needle counts as ONE stitch, including the slip knot. You're now ready to add a stitch marker and begin your pattern.
