Logitech G5 Restoration - Old Gaming Mouse

Good Old Logitech G5 mouse was abandoned in my local flea market. I brought it couple of years ago and forgot about it. I finally managed to find some free time to give it love it deserves. USB cable was loosing signal and feet were damaged. Nothing that Aliexpress can't help with. Now with new parts and clean plastics it is working like new.

I have the very same mouse in new condition.. The cord still has factory bends from being wrapped. Lol... Got it when I was 16 and I'm 34 now lol.. Started doing drugs and quit gaming... Well I been clean 7 years now and have a 3080 system arriving tomorrow.. Had to buy literally everything but this mouse... I'm excited to get back into gaming.. Ended up dropping almost 4k on a pre built because we all know 3080s are hard to find and I don't have time to click refresh all day and run a business at the same time.. So, what are your thoughts on this mouse.. Is it still on par with new mice?

It's a great mouse. I have a similar story to yours and I believe it's perfect for gaming. Set the dpi to the highest setting (2000 dpi) and adjust sensitivity in game to your liking, and you are on par with what pros use

I always imagine video games is a blessing in disguise because it keep us busy so we don't do drugs. Anyway.
I love this mouse. I think I got the original with only one side button in 2005.
I did so many quick scope hs with this amazing mouse.
It the the perfect mouse. I notice it's those very few mouse that used laser, has weight control and last for over 20 years if you take good care of it.
My still working great. It has a lot of battle scars on the left click and on the lower palm rest area. It's like a large chunk is paint is missing.
When i stopped using it for a year, the middle left click on scroll stopped working.
So I shop around and brought other one. It's exactly like your with 2 buttons on the side. My old mouse only has one.
I see it as an upgrade. The price is ridiculous now in 2022 because it's so rare.
Got it for $37.

@@condorX2 lol I Know price is crazy for this thing.. I wish they did another weighted mouse.. I still am not exactly sure what makes this thing so special. I wonder if the high prices is more because it's a classic gaming mouse or what.. Yeah mine is still in pristine condition. I will not be selling it though. Maybe if I find that modern mice are a real upgrade. However with that being said I really like a heavy mouse so a modern weighted gaming mouse is what I would upgrade to if I did.. Here I am waiting for the 4090 to release lol. My priority is 4090, then nexgen cpu whether amd or Intel is still to be determined, then new ddr5 mobo, then peripherals

Hi. A little small ball drop out of the wheel assembly while cleaning. It's round and 1mm in diameter. Anybody know where that goes?
