Winston's gotta be my favourite major character. He's a great guy who does great stuff for supers, and unlike what any other movie would do, he dosnt turn out to be a baddie, he's legit.
Not only that, but when he does get betrayed he doesn’t sit there dumbfounded like other tropes would have you believe, he actually does something about it by freeing the other ambassadors and supers to get them to safety
Her goal was to make the public hate superheroes, in a country where it's illegal to be a superhero, because the public hates super heroes. In order to do so, she gets a super hero, puts into action a plan to make the public like superheroes again, and then sabotages that plan so it will fail. I guess just to remind people why they hate super heroes. I'm not sure how well thought out this movie was.
Samuel York Her goal was to make superheroes illegal permanently. In order to do so she frames renowned superheroes so that they seem like out of control bad guys. She’s better than the Underminer
@LeadFaun of course the production crew cared about this movie, the film was supposed to come out next year but Pixar decided to release this one a year early so they can release Toy Story 4 next year. Considering how rushed production was for this, I still think it's a pretty solid sequel.
Or the fact that the kids know the goggles turn them evil and when jack-jack squashed them when he fell out of the air vent the kids didn’t remove them.
ChocolateAsian9000 He likely will be he next villain, or “anakin skywalker”- type in the next movie. He’s powered enough where it’s like adding Superman to your fight against regular people. So, either the next villain has to be powerful enough to beat him, or it is to be him.
What bothered me the most was that they never dealt with the Underminer after he got away. Like... after a decade of waiting for this movie we waited for him only to get away never to be seen again??? Unless i missed that they did catch him? If not, do we have to wait another decade for the next movie to find out if we see the Underminer again?
that's the point. in the current system villains can get away "the banks were insured.....all of this would have been avoid if you just let him go" we can assume the heros went away but not the villains
But still, 16 minutes and less than 100 sins in total. Even that is pretty damn generous for this channel. I also love his constant removing of sins for the best of reasons XD
I had 2 big issues with this movie. 1: Like you said, a lot of the same issues that were resolved in the first movie were redone. The kids weren’t allowed to use their powers, the family was divided, a rich person they barely know ends up being the villain 2: Bob was heavily underpowered. A lot of things that he seemed to do in the first movie were impossible for him in this one, and he struggled a lot more than he should have in a lot of fights
i think he wanted more specifics from the fact that they have opposite signs on their outfits, one being positive and other being negative. Like they could be like Mas and Menos from DC where they are super fast albeit their costumes being electricity themed. Do their powers work together/ require one another? why have opposite signs if they have the same power? like that stuff. Don't judge a book by its cover basically...
@@danieltsiu7383 There are multiple examples of the positive/negative pairing in character design. There are actual comicbook heroes with that, and there are Pokemon that share the same characteristics. In every case, either the positive/negative is used because some of their powers rely on the pairing, or they use it to symbolize their bond. His complaint was that there was NO indication as to what their powers could be. What did he need, a neon sign saying "Our powers let us do stuff with electricity"? Their costumes involve symbols only associated with two things in popular culture: Math, and Electricity. Their hats have lightening bolts on it. Their costume colors are ELECTRIC colors (one dude literally has electric green hair). "Don't judge a book by its cover" wasn't the sin he tacked on though. What he said was that there was NO hint as to what their powers could be. The other two were fine, as Crochet Man could have any power really, but those two are literally a pair wearing electric versions of colors, with lightening bolts on their helmets, and signs that indicated electrical charge. He didn't say "I don't know their specific power". He said that they showed the twins "without giving us ANY clue what their powers may be", which as I've already stated is completely false.
@@ThePurbleKing What makes that not so simple is the fact that as the other guy said, the suits could mean anything. The Flash is covered in lightning bolts, his powers have nothing to do with electricity. Plus there's already an electric dude as a villain, so it'd be interesting to see what makes these two different from him. Not a big deal, but it would've been cool to see powers from the background Supers.
"It's the writer's jobs to handhold and forcefeed information" That's what your comment translates to. Again, he wasn't saying that it wasn't specific enough. He literally said the movie gave us no clue at all, but there are multiple. "No clue" means "No clue", not "Multiple clues". He said he had no idea because there was no indication whatsoever what their powers might be. What you're claiming he meant is the exact opposite of what he said. There can't be "multiple examples" if there are no examples. Again, he said "No clue" not "multiple clues" or "too many clues".
And, he was able to throw one of those pipes, so why can't he just do it multiple times? Is it because he doesn't think there is enough time before the ship crashes into the city?
Any human outrage over superheroes attempting to stop villains resulting in public mass damages should just have the superheroes say, "Fine. We won't do anything. See how you save your own asses from cars falling from broken bridges, and monorails derailing onto streets. I'm sure the high mortality rate will be worth it."
@@dannydelacruz7303 Yeah, either they DID think it was worth it, or all the supervillians decided to piss off at the same time, because no one was complaining about the lack of supers during the ban, apparently.
@@aidanzuzenak2416 There actually aren't, apparently, in the Incredibles universe. Every supervillian we've seen on-screen is a normal human with a ridiculous collection of weapons and gadgets, especially Syndrome of course. It's as if the super gene comes with an instinct for heroism. Maybe there's supplemental material of dubious canon to the contrary.
8:39 Okay, so the thing about the setting of the Incredibles movies is that Brad Bird INTENTIONALLY wanted to make it indeterminable by mixing nostalgia with futuristic elements. Hence, the ambiguity of the time in which it was set.
If Pixar didn't indulge in the laziness of a twist villain they could have had another classic. Evelyn has a point without resorting to supervillainy. You don't make monorails or penicillin or microwaves if you count on someone to swoop in and save the day. You could even hammer home the point by setting the Incredibles in 2018. But superheroes, unintentionally, held society back so it looks 50 years behind.
That's a brilliant idea...THAT THEY DIDN'T GO FOR!!! Like, the sequel could have explained all the schizotech and the retro universe stuff in-universe, but nooooo...it's a normal superhero movie.
@@kimscott9580 It's not only the mask bit it's also coupled with the fact they can be SEEN putting on the mask so even if the mask that covers just a tiny bit of the face worked it doesn't make people looking at them forget. My only real problem with this movie are the addition of the new supers, something about their design and overall characteristics seem off and don't fit the universe IMO (I am aware that they are a new era of supers so they act/look different, but Elastigirls new costume still fits the atheistic of the movie while still coming off as a new, fresh and modern design)
Another thing, it says that Violet and Tony were supposed to go on a date on Friday. Yet, the two still went to school the next day. It's a small thing, but it's a sinful thing.
Wasn’t his mind wiped at the beginning of the film to protect Violet’s family? The thing monkey ears used to erase Tony’s memory of Violet indeed erased all he knew about Violet-including their date on Friday.
"We didn't start this fight!" "YOU DIDN'T FINISH IT EITHER!" Well by that logic, the officer was saying "Why don't you let villains walk all over us? We just want a normal life!" Bob or Helen should've said "We saved city hall AND nobody died! YOU'RE WELCOME!"
they actually caused more damage though the villain planned on a smash and grab, cause of Bob and Helen joining in several buildings and the monorail got damaged.
@@dewolf123 but thats the thing, less people would have been in danger if the incredibles had sit out. They made the entire situation worse, they didn't make a single thing better.
@@fairystail1 So sitting around doing nothing is how things are fixed? If that's the case I think the army should have never gone to Iraq where many innocent civilians were killed.
@@dewolf123 wow way to completely get the wrong idea They made the situation worse. Just like with Mr Incredible and the start of the first movie they made it worse. No one is going to go 'well if you weren't there then no one would have been at risk of death but good job anyway' also it was literally illegal for them to hero. the fact that they weren't arrested is going easy on them. ALSO they had super suits for the kids and had them in random day to day life. Looking to the cops like they actively encourage the kids to break the law and put the kids in dangerous circumstances. there is no way this looks good for the incredibles. Edit: In fact if they hadn't gotten involved in that one scene then the entire rest of the movie wouldn't have happened. Now I don't hold them responsible for Evelyn's actions but imagine you are the cops, these costumed bastards show up trying to help and make things worse THEN some other super powered bastards show up causing problems just because they don't like the heroes. Well you will see why they made supers illegal. It is literally better for them if the supers just don't do anything and don't show up.
That's too nitpicky even for me lol. I remember years ago, during the age of analogue television, I was at the location of a live broadcast, and could see TVs tuned into it, and the delay was very small. It was so small in fact, that if a person was on a phone call with a host of a tv show, they had to be reminded to turn down their tv as the audio could cause a feedback loop. But yes, there might be a very small amount of lag in the broadcast, and it would be more noticeable to the person with the car remote than for anyone else.
Also Jack Jack and Frozone were the MVPs of the movie. Jack jack taking off elestigirls glasses and frozone stopping the boat and drill from crashing into the buildings and saving the kids from the mind control group
While I loveeee this movie, what drives me nuts is that even though they didn't exactly stop the Underminer from further damaging the city, they saved a WHOLE lotta lives...
Isaac Cicchelli its in John Ratzenberger's contract to be in every Pixar movie, probably. Letting the Underminer escape means he can possibly show up in a potential third movie!
Not exactly contract, I think, but PIXAR considers Ratzenberger to be their good luck charm, so they put him in every film as a little hint of "success". They also made fun of themselves for doing this, using him, in Cars.
In the first movie, underminer was declaring war on humanity. In the second movie, he just wanted to rob a bank. It sucks we waited 14 years just to watch him get away.
The movie doesn't take place in 1962, there was another newspaper that said 2002. Also, Brad Bird(director) said that it didn't take place In the 60s . That was just a stylistic choice.
But how do you explain the under-miner at the end of the Incredibles and the underminor at the beginning of incredibles 2. And how about the cars in the first movie and this one, they certainly don’t look early 2000s to me. But I mean there are a lot of inconsistencies between the two movies. But yet again, one was created 14 years ago and one now.
@@MagicalBread ~ Okay, so you don't understand the idea of "a stylistic choice", then put it this way. It's an alternate universe, thus the existence of superheroes. You don't think there would be any changes to how tech advanced? Most of our own technology was designed for military defense purposes. This world has supers, not much need for an arms race when you have numerous, self-sustaining and procreating super-powered individuals fighting for your country. It's entirely plausible that some aspects of their tech and design choices would be behind our own.
But that doesn't make sense. In the first movie, one of the newspapers from the "superheroes illegal now" section was from the early 1950s. So it has to be the 1960s. Unless the "stylistic choice" was to jump from 1959 to 2000.
I just noticed this: in the ice scene. Helen is shown to be able to stretch a certain amount. She can also stretch anything, not just her arms. So why doesn't she stretch her nose or something to get the glasses off?
Additional sin for the fact after 14 years of waiting they didn’t even stop the underminer. And 15:34 Evelyn: “nobody cared who I was until I put on the mask”
Mr.Incredibles super strength is the most useless ability ever in this movie. Never is it able to overcome anything at all. Few pipes in his way? Nope. A fat guy who likes drilling? Nope. And they make the even bigger even stronger side character hero just to shame him more.
Exactly. In the original movie he destroys one giant robot, and is able to overpower the Godzilla sized robot, but in this one he gets defeated by a tiny mole man and every other character.
Buuuut..... The Incredibles SHOULD be aware that Jack-Jack has powers. Maybe not what KINDS of powers, but they should be aware that he has some, judging from the first movie. Jack-Jack is using his powers when Syndrome attempts to kidnap him, not to mention that Kari (the babysitter) gave away plenty of hints when calling Helen in panic saying things like "Jack-Jack is fine but weird things are happening you need to tell me what to do!" and "When are you coming back??" and "Sorry for freaking out but your baby has special needs" (or something like that) obviously hinting that something is up with Jack-Jack that she can't explain. If the family would have been smart enough they would have been able to connect he dots. And in Jack-Jack's fight with Syndrome he turns into his monster shape AND fire shape! The family should have seen that the baby was changing shape/color even from where they stood and connecting THAT with how Syndrome seemingly unable to handle the baby, weeell.... It should have hinted at SOMETHING. Idk. I'm just saying. They shouldn't be THAT surprised with the whole "Jack-Jack has powers!!" thingy. It's bothering me a lot.
Another sin is the fact that Elasta Girl apparently couldn't stretch because the temperature - but rubber expand when it get colder, and contracts when it gets hotter. If anything, being in the cold would've been advantageous to her. Even if we were to say that her being a person and not full on rubber factors into the equation, I don't understand why that wouldn't factor into every other instances where she uses her power instead of just the one time it's convenient for the villain. It would've just been better if they just said the cuffs had some sort of power suppressing ability.
Did you even go to school? Rubber contracts in cold and expands in heat. Put a rubber band in the oven and tell me rubber contracts when heated. Put a rubber band in the freezer and tell me rubber expands when chilled. DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND THE LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS?!?!
But that is assuming her body is made of rubber, she might just have hyper mobility on a SUPER level and so it would actually depend on her blood flow and strength so if she was in the cold and not fed or hydrated it is believable that she wouldn’t be able to stretch as far
the raccoon scene was just them showing off jack jack's powers, felt really fan-servicey to me. they got more creative with it in the jack-jack attack short imo
Ikr. In the first movie they had a monorail train. Like wtf, that shit is at least 90's shit. He has a remote car that can change and dress him. The ginger from the first movie had an utopia on a island. Bob flew over there in a 3021 plane. 🤷🏾♂️i lost track of continuity
13:15 My explanation for the glasses is that they can work either way, with the limiting factor being Evelyn's attention bandwidth. With the pizza guy, she was only controlling the one slave, so she could focus on him entirely, making manual control feasible. But in the later stages of the movie, when she had a whole bunch of screenslaves to juggle, she had to rely on semi-autopilot mode so she could split her attention so many different ways at once.
You want them to just play the video on their channel with the sin counter 2.0 Breaking? Cause then they'll need to get a third Sin Counter. And I doubt the second one was cheap.
When Mr. Incredible is on the phone with Elasti-Girl. You can clearly see him straining and squeezing the phone. He's shown in the past he is easily destructive when he gets angry. How is he not breaking the phone?

ChocolateAsian9000 He likely will be he next villain, or “anakin skywalker”- type in the next movie. He’s powered enough where it’s like adding Superman to your fight against regular people. So, either the next villain has to be powerful enough to beat him, or it is to be him.
What if Syndrome put a mind control device on Jack? Something like the Joker from Batman Beyond
he already has been
I was honestly hoping that would be the plot of this one. Do a time skip where they fight Jack Jack as a teenager or young adult.

I had 2 big issues with this movie.
1: Like you said, a lot of the same issues that were resolved in the first movie were redone. The kids weren’t allowed to use their powers, the family was divided, a rich person they barely know ends up being the villain
2: Bob was heavily underpowered. A lot of things that he seemed to do in the first movie were impossible for him in this one, and he struggled a lot more than he should have in a lot of fights
*Sees two superheroes with electricity themed costumes, complete with lightening bolts*
"I have no idea what their powers are"
i think he wanted more specifics from the fact that they have opposite signs on their outfits, one being positive and other being negative.
Well, apparently their names are Shock and Awe, sooo...
"It's the writer's jobs to handhold and forcefeed information"
That's what your comment translates to.

Any human outrage over superheroes attempting to stop villains resulting in public mass damages should just have the superheroes say, "Fine. We won't do anything. See how you save your own asses from cars falling from broken bridges, and monorails derailing onto streets. I'm sure the high mortality rate will be worth it."
after the band the people got along pretty good

8:39 Okay, so the thing about the setting of the Incredibles movies is that Brad Bird INTENTIONALLY wanted to make it indeterminable by mixing nostalgia with futuristic elements. Hence, the ambiguity of the time in which it was set.
If Pixar didn't indulge in the laziness of a twist villain they could have had another classic. Evelyn has a point without resorting to supervillainy. You don't make monorails or penicillin or microwaves if you count on someone to swoop in and save the day. You could even hammer home the point by setting the Incredibles in 2018. But superheroes, unintentionally, held society back so it looks 50 years behind.

the fact that they weren't arrested is going easy on them.
9:40 Not only the lag of the remote, but the delay on the television.
Can we mention that the under minor never got caught
Isaac Cicchelli its in John Ratzenberger's contract to be in every Pixar movie, probably. Letting the Underminer escape means he can possibly show up in a potential third movie!
More importantly what the heck happened with the Raccoon?
Not exactly contract, I think, but PIXAR considers Ratzenberger to be their good luck charm, so they put him in every film as a little hint of "success".
They also made fun of themselves for doing this, using him, in Cars.
He's just a miner plot device.
In the first movie, underminer was declaring war on humanity.
In the second movie, he just wanted to rob a bank.

Go to 0:31 in the video. Are those 2002 cars?

You need to get your toenails clipped..

They didn't see what went on with JJ. He was in the sky. When Helen got him he was a baby again.

Yep, thiccer than a sniccer
It was as funny as hell though.
As much as I love that fight scene the setup is kinda weak. All the raccoon was doing was taking literally binned food. Poor Rac Rac ;/
Dude I didn’t even know that this was set in the 60s I just thought it was the aesthetic...but this makes even jack jack even older than my parents...
I was also surprised!
Kieron Farley they arent real
“Cuasimodo2372 would be great at cinema sins” nah but like I know that I’m just still shocked that it’s actually set in the 60s is all
Ikr. In the first movie they had a monorail train. Like wtf, that shit is at least 90's shit. He has a remote car that can change and dress him. The ginger from the first movie had an utopia on a island. Bob flew over there in a 3021 plane. 🤷🏾♂️i lost track of continuity

4:45 After living in Portland for nearly a decade, I can confirm nobody looks at you twice in a busy city no matter what weird costume you're wearing.
I don't know if we can compare Portland to other cities on that ground. Portland is in a category of its own.
JamesOhGoodie same in New York
I've only visited Portland but from what I've seen, agreed
The people in Maine are a stoic bunch.
portland confirmed
13:15 My explanation for the glasses is that they can work either way, with the limiting factor being Evelyn's attention bandwidth. With the pizza guy, she was only controlling the one slave, so she could focus on him entirely, making manual control feasible. But in the later stages of the movie, when she had a whole bunch of screenslaves to juggle, she had to rely on semi-autopilot mode so she could split her attention so many different ways at once.
That makes a lot more sense
That scene with elastigirl being frozen in the chair is so similar to the fantastic 4 movie scene WITH THE SAME THING.
Same powers, same weakness. So yeah, villains are very likely to subdue them the same way.
It wasnt The Thing in a chair, it was Mr. Incredible
@@Marlexyx bad joke
Same with the door scene in screenslavers lair

You want them to just play the video on their channel with the sin counter 2.0 Breaking? Cause then they'll need to get a third Sin Counter. And I doubt the second one was cheap.

When Mr. Incredible is on the phone with Elasti-Girl. You can clearly see him straining and squeezing the phone. He's shown in the past he is easily destructive when he gets angry. How is he not breaking the phone?
I was expecting him to break it, yeah, or at least dent it a bit.
