The laser gives you an aiming indicator - a light dot and it can run around the engraving boundaries that it will use. In that way you can see if you have placed the thing in the right place. If you going to mass produce - I would make a template so I put the thing at exactly the same spot every time :)
Hi, I have a Sculpfun iCube 5w. I downloaded the Sculpfun app v 1.0.27, everything is connected, it engraves the installed images, but the images and photos (files) are not uploaded to the app from my device (phone), the buttons for images and photos are there, but there is no reaction when pressed, the file browser does not open. What do I need to do to upload my files? Sorry for my English language
It should be, but all mirror-like surfaces have to be covered in something dark. For instance on stainless steel I have used candle smoke to darken it, then engrave, then clean
I don’t remember the settings, but you have to make the metal black before you do. I used smoke of a candle to make it black and then engraved it and cleaned it
What material are you trying to engrave? You can’t really change the color. If you want it darker you can either increase power or reduce the speed (or both)
When you upload your design into laser software, size it accordingly (by mm or inches, etc.). Then you place your material under the laser head and press a button (forgot the exact name of it now) for scaling/scoping the size. The head will move around the outer frame of the design with a blue light turned on. So you will be able to see where is it moving and if it matches the desired area on your material. Be aware that on a very thin materials this outer contour can still leave a little mark even with a tiny blue dot.
Hi! I have a question, do you know if you can use this lasermachine with an iPad Pro? I want to build and draw my own designs on the iPad an then upload it to and bring this machine with me to clients. Hope you can let me know, thanks! :)
Check if you can install “Sculpfun” app from the app store. If yes, I am 99% sure you can. Also ask the sellers the same question, they should know 100% :)
It depends. Phone app is easy for some simple jobs, but if you want to do cutting, customize your engravings (like separate outline from the drawing for instance) full software like lightburn will have more options..
If you can cut material in one pass, it should be possible. It only has the "engraving" function in app, but if you only upload the outline of the drawing and set enough power.. should work. PC application will make it easier though :)
Hello. I would like to know if you use a Mac or a PC. Because all the videos I see are on PC. Does it works with a Macbook? And which software do you use on your computer? Thank you 🤩
it should do yellow. But need to play with settings and see if you're happy with the result. Plastics with too much power melt and different plastics melt in different way
It's trash you should avoid this laser, I have a Sculpfun S9 and made the mistake of ordering this laser for my wife because I trusted Sculpfun. After a two week ship time I attempt to setup and use the iCube and it was dead on arrival. I had to email Sculpfun customer service repeatedly and send them 4 seperate videos of the machine not working on two different computers to actually get the motherboard replaced all the while being treated as if I was attempting to rip them off. Fast forward two weeks of waiting and now over a month of owning the laser and replacing the motherboard, I finally get to use my iCube and it had so much wobble that the machine could not cut a circle at even the slowest speed.....buyer beware...Maybe I got a trash unit but I would save the money and find another "hobby laser" if I were you. I've sent a final photo of the horrible wobble in the laser to Sculpfun , but based on my experience with their customer service so far, I highly doubt I receive anything other than deflection.
That sucks man. At least they replied and sent you the replacement part. There are some 3d printing companies that do not reply at all.. Can you see what is actually wobbling? Maybe just a loose screw somewhere?
I have tightened all the belts on the machine and while there was a slight improvement it, there is still a horrible wobble in the machine. It seems there is a lot of play in the frame itself...@@VRMinde
One of the best review i was looking about this laser.
Nice. Thanks again 😊
My pleasure 😊
Is it easy to align a circular piece of metal that has paint on it so that the laser is dead center on the metal piece?

Which is the best setting to engrave metal dog tags?
it depends what results do you want. With every material I just do tests at different power and speed and look at what looks best for me
Whats the different 5w & 10w.. Which better?
the more the merrier. The more powerful laser will cut thicker material
Is it possible to engrawee names and numbers om silver plates for braccelets?
It should be, but all mirror-like surfaces have to be covered in something dark. For instance on stainless steel I have used candle smoke to darken it, then engrave, then clean
Hey, there how did you engrave the "test" metal(spoon or fork or what it is), can you tell me the settings please?
I don’t remember the settings, but you have to make the metal black before you do. I used smoke of a candle to make it black and then engraved it and cleaned it
How can you make it to engrave in black. All my test is only doing it in gray/white.? Best Regards;

@@VRMinde Thanks, I will take a look!
So is it better to use the phone app vs using my laptop?

Is it possible to engrave pcb on this machine?
I have not tried, but I do not see why it should not be possible
what is the laser head life spam? by HR/used?
To be honest no idea man
Installation impossible.. comment faire?
Installation impossible? Why is that?
Installation was easy.

PC :) I have no idea if it works on a mac mate 🤷🏻♂️
I use lightburn mainly
Will it engrave yellow plastic?

How can I get my device number and password?
To connect on wifi? You need to set it up for the first time over PC
