Born and raised in NYC. Washington Heights in the upper west side of Manhattan. Moved to the Bronx in 1988 when I went to college. Lived on Undercliff Ave right of the corner of Sedgwick Ave, Holland Ave between Pelham Parkway South & Lydig Avenue. Last but not least. Coop City right on Asch Loop. Right on the corner of Coop City Blvd. Directly across the street from Bay Plaza. I’m retired now live in FLorida. NYC has always been rough growing up. As we get older in life. We start to put things into a much broaden prospective realizing what’s really important in life. NYC is getting a bad rep now because of all the upscale in violence that plagues the city. Kinda reminds me of 70’s & 80’s when the city was like the wild Wild West sort of speaking. I recall looking over the Hudson River from my block in the heights and seeing all the abandoned graffiti riddled buildings home as far as I can see. I’m glad that the Bronx has gotten so much better with rebuilding making it a better place to live besides the crime. I only hope that things get better as far as the entire city gets better for people to live in and be able to raise their families. The way it is now. That is definitely not the case. But one can only hope. I’ll always be a New Yorker. Love my NYC.

The South Bronx has a lower crime rate than the state of Florida! It's a far cry from the 80s. Some of the hottest real estate in the northeast is in SoBro. Good restaurants, couple of cool breweries, that little joint known as Yankee Stadium. Well worth a visit - and getting out of the car. 😂
