Great video Andrew. You might think about getting some signage made up to put on your mini excavator, trailer, truck, etc advertising your you tube channel. With all the driving on the roads, etc it would get the word out more to bring new subscribers to the channel. Just a thought.

Wow one heck a job dropping that with your excavator in such a tight spot with no room for error. I’m guessing the pucker factor was pretty high setting the excavator and pushing on the tree. You did make me a little nervous watching you climbing around in the tree top with the chain saw. In any case excellent job and your dad can be proud of his son.
Spool? Not sure what you mean. I like the pockets so the hook goes underneath and hooks on top. If the chain is ever loosened it won't come off hooked under and back on top.
@TKCL the rounds bits there between the trailer and the rub rail. If you hook the chain properly, it won't come undone when/if there is slack. Unless it shakes a LOT. I always hook with the chain facing up if that makes sense. The stake pockets just have the least amount of connecting points between the frame and rub rail. In an instance where you have an emergency stop, it's very possible and likely you'll bend or break the pocket. The same with hooking to the rub rail it's self. I've seen many a rub rail bend and break pretty easy.
Have you thought about marking your trailer for each piece of equipment for the perfectly balanced load. It will make loading faster after the first time.
Way too many attachments that change weight and balance. I would have marks everywhere. What I do is snap pictures once loaded correctly, then I can refer back to those.

Yo Andrew, You have to watch dragging heavy loads with the thumb closed as it could bend the thumb and even break it. I had that happen to me here when i was removing 3000 stumps and learned the lesson the hard way. Great job all around and soon I will be playing copy cat as I will be ordering the same trailer and possibly same excavator. Trying to sneak that purchase in before end of year
@@TKCL Yeah I rented a KX057 for a month to clear these stumps. Had a few i needed help with. One was the size of a D6 dozer and seeing the D6 dozer push it to the burn pile was insanity. When you find the boom straining on big items just put the bucket in areas and curl to break the roots. My thumb bent and fell off when i had a stump secured with bucket but it was too heavy to lift so i used the bucket and thumb to secure it so i could drag. The weight of it while i was dragging is what caused it. Another thing i learned is keeping objects away from the blade. I had part of a stump come out of the thumb/bucket grip and fall on top of the blade breaking a hydro line. You are doing good just keep taking it slow until you get the hang of it. I learned most of my excavator skills watching Chris aka letsdig
I watched another video where they put a 4way blade on the front of their excavator. They said it made the machine more versatile. What are your thoughts?
That backhoe came in really handy for you. 😊. You should always wear chaps when cutting by the way. Hot is no excuse for safety. Especially with a big saw. 🫠. All it takes is once for an accident
Andrew please think about using the tie down eyelets on the undercarriage and make it a 4 point tie down to the trailer. Not sure about FL but in most places tying to a blade (or anything with a Hydraulic Cylinder) is illegal. Also some states require 4 points(usually determined by weight)..... meaning 4 SEPARATE tie downs.....Either way it is the BEST way to secure YOUR investment and Save your life and the life's of others... So using a chain in the back to the center eye is considered ONE point, using the same chain running through both eyelets on the blade ONE as well. 8K is a lot of kinetic energy and its not an issue until its an issue if you know what I mean.
You might be under chained with just using 2, but I don't know the rules in your neck of the woods. We back ours on blade to the rear and put two binders on the back and do the same as you at the front through the ring. I hook the binder into the chain holes in the blade and either use 2 short chains or 1 long one strung across the deck looped around a ring or the rub rail support like you did. (it acts like 2 separate chains, you have slack in the center) I don't like having the binder hooks on the side of the trailer, that is why I do it that way. They often sit at an odd angle compared to how chain lays.

You did miss something. White truck had too many repairs recently (nothing major). It was time to upgrade to a newer (used) truck with all the traveling commitments I have. Sold the white truck today, it was awesome after 23 years old, the best truck I've ever owned.

I did forgo them due to the extreme heat, I was already getting close to heat stroke.
Excavator's are fun, aren't they? By far, my favorite piece of equipment. FYI: putting your blade down will help with the wobble.
You'll see many times in the video the machine lift as I put the blade down after any wobble. I hate that feeling.

From a professional flatbed driver, those stake pockets are the easiest point. Loop your chain around the spool .

Crazy thick thumb on this machine and the hydraulic cylinder has pressure relief. But anything is possible, that's for sure. Thanks

It was an option for mine, but very expensive. They even make 6 way. If you do a lot of road grading or ditches, it's definitely worth it.

Its amazing how noone seems to use a ripper for this. Its 10 times easier/quicker than screwing around with a bucket.
Those also cost quite a bit of money, I do plan to get one.
