I bought mine on Monday, and returned it on Wednesday. Enough said.
That stupid made money scamming thing can't cool a shoe box.
It's an evaporative cooler. Won't work in humid environments. The water in the pad changing from a liquid to a vapor absorbs heat from the air. A super efficient one can lower the air temperature 15 to 20° maximum. This unit will not cool down a room it might blow some cool air onto a person but that's about it.
I learnt this the hard way
Thank you, thank you! This review is the ONLY one which tells how LONG it actually cools! No other review mentions that!
While this is not the latest model, the cooling time is ESSENTIAL to know.
Thank you.👍
Just a warning..if you see one being demonstrated in an air conditioned show room it can be very deceiving . I watched a group of people in a store standing around a running display of one of these gadgets and they were just awed by how cold the air coming out felt! Just like a real air conditioner!! Sure, if the air going in is already cooled..it’s going to feel like a real air conditioner. But believe me..when the air is 80 degrees it’s a much different result. If you want to know what it’s gonna feel like, wet a hand towel, wring it out and put it in front of a fan..that’s about what you can expect. Which certainly has its uses..as long as you manage your expectations.
@@kishascape who paid you to say that?
@@kishascape this thing hasn’t even been out for a couple years?😂😂 let alone a decade
@@GoatedAimz This video was posted 5 years ago lol.
That's just ridiculous! It works better than that! You need to crack a window open so new air and be circulated. These do work if you use it right.
@@GoatedAimznobody, because I can confirm they do work. It's how you use it. Even a fan drawing from ice works why can't these work?
If you cool something down, the heat must go somewhere, so ask yourself, where is it going.
Proper air conditioners vent to the outside.
Exactly what I thought
your lowering the heat not getting rid of it
Hypothetically, the heat energy could be being used to evaporate the water (evaporative cooling is how sweat works)
Evaporizing 1 pound of water takes 970 BTU. This is a mini swamp fan.
The heat is transferring to the water I assumed?
Most folks are not accustomed to work in a hot workshop/greenhouse environment. If they were, they would quickly recognize this class of "air conditioner" as a miniature swamp cooler. The method of operation is simple; ambient air is forced over a permeable, wet substrate which lowers the temperature of the air but increases the humidity (quite a bit). You can lower the temperature in a room by as much as 10 degrees with a couple of non-oscillating fans positioned so that they create a cyclonic air flow around the room.
Thank you so much! You just saved my wife and I a lot of time and money!
You just need to crack a window open for it to work more proficiently.
The are money scamming liars, that little trick can't cool a shoe box.
ACtually because it does put water into the air, I used mine as a sort of mini-humidifier during the winter. It helps! But as for the AC--kind of lame.
Notice no one is saying how it actually works and that's because it doesn't!
Thank you for the comments. It's a fan. The humidity can be a plus or a minus.
Bologna, I bought one and it's no better than a fan and probably not even as good, because most fans blow a lot harder. But if you want moist warm air in your room, that you're trying to cool and probably dehumidify, and these mini water based units will work great for you.
You're probably not using it right.
@@HDsharp 😂😂😂
The only thing worse than being hot is being hot and humid
Humid is good for your skin!
@@brothermyboy8226 As a white person I can verify we do not us moisturizers as much as other races.
J M lol i don’t think this has to do with race...
Some humidity is good, its how sweat cools you down via evaporation.
@@brothermyboy8226 Yes it is, but not 90% humidity, and not for your furniture
I own two of that same model. I live in Los Angeles, where the summer air tends to be hot and dry in the daytime, and warm and dry at night. That little cooler on the table next to the bed keep that immediate area nicely cooled and works fine. The only time I now have to run the AC is when the temps go over 90 with high relative humidity, otherwise I just run the coolers.
Yup it's a little swamp cooler so of course it works in a dry environment.
Yes, they run okay. But I was overcharged by over $100. With no one to complain to. They don't talk.
@@Austinandpupwhy don't you use a bit of common sense and crack a window open slight when using it.
@@HDsharp what? I said it works in a dry environment. Why would you tell me to crack a window?
@@Austinandpup because it bring new air into the room.
If it was an aircon it would have a BTU grade. Its just just water cooler and end off day your room will not get any cooler because it work more like a fan.
Considering that the function of true AC is humidity removal, then why do you ADD water for this unit? That adds humidity to the surrounding air. Sounds like a fan with a block of ice in front of it would serve the same purpose.
With mine, I don't even have to put ice in it to receive cool air back. I just add cool tap water. And the cool air I receive back is much cooler, it's not just a fan. They really do work.
Sweating profusely achieves a similar result :)
One of the ways that an air conditioner helps to cool you, is by removing the humidity in the air, allowing your sweat to evaporate.
This unit, while it does decrease the air temp by a few degrees, it also increases the humidity in the air, and that will make you feel worse in the long run.
I have A northern chill mini air cooler it's decent when i am cooking and in my small bathroom. Wet the filter freeze for 30-60min add ice with the water it helps.
Wonder what will happen when the moisture level in the air rises to a level when you wish you would still have never turned it on.
Weisswurstesser glad I read your comment before buying one!
I mean we have a swamp cooler and we leave it on all day every day nothing has happened to us
@@lenutz2537 Do you live in a dry environment or a humid environment? I'm pretty sure the answer is dry.
That's why you need to crack a window open.
In my experience, they work about as well as you'd expect them to.
I was given one as a gift. I donated it to a charity thrift shop a week later. I would never recommend one of these to a friend or family member.
And I bought it! Seriously, I bought one from a thrift store a few weeks ago for $5. It's basically a small fan that blows slightly cooler air than a fan. It's OK.
The worst part is how much they charge, you can get bigger fan units for cheaper that do the same thing
It’s a mini swamp cooler. Not an A/C
These things are very misleading.
So it's basically a fan that's blowing out water in minute amounts. You can set a fan in front of a bucket full of ice and do the same thing.
It’s like $20 what do you expect lol
Not really. Theres a mechanism inside that cools the air. I don't even have to add ice to receive cool air back. They work better than your suggestion.
Seems like it would introduce more humidity not being vented??? If so I could see that being great for non-humid environments and vice versa
The youtube advert says this was made in 2022 after some heats wave i don't remember happening. But this video is older..
I have been designing air conditioning systems for the past 45 years. I've been asked about these "amazing" devices whose inventors live under the threat of assassination by agents from the big air conditioning companies. I wish. The numbers don't add up. I pound of water evaporated by an evaporative cooler extracts around 1,000 BTU, adding that amount of water to the air as vapor/absolute humidity. The units hold about a pint of water, or 1/8 of a pound, Running for an hour, one of these machines would remove 120 BTU per hour. Not enough to blast a room with freezing air. It is interesting that this scam has become so popular. It's a waste of money.
It's not a scam! They really do cool the room without any ice needed.
About one of the similar models in Home Depot supposed to be pretty good but it wasn't took it back
Today where im at in Texas it was 95° but it felt like 108° because of the humidity , it has been averaging 85° with high humidity at midnight. That little water fan is going to do nothing. If you live in Arizona ok maybe a little bit ?
yeah use it in a office where there is air conditioner but maybe based on where you sit you find it very slow, well this will help with mking your work more comfortable
pay attention to 2nd thermodynamics LAW!!
That thing is nothing better humidifier does the same thing that a humidifier does put moisture back into the air people get fooled easily nowadays
That's not an air conditioner... its just a simple water cooler.
cooler... fake title so product will be also fake.
air cooler it is. AC needs refrigerant.
Water coolers are for drinking
@@yahoomotherfkr5020 No, water coolers are for dispensing water.
To be fair, the term air-conditioner refers to humidifying, dehumidifying , cooling and heating. We just want the term"Air- conditioner " to mean one thing when in actual fact its an umbrella term used to describe the mentioned
The only way to cool the air is to remove the heat unless uve got a block of ice
My red light will literally not turn off therefore the fan is the only thing being used and the water isn't evaporating. Wtf???
Same here. Had this for a good month and the red light won't turn off even when water is filled to the brim. I've been picking up the part the holds water and dropping it back into place repeatedly until it stops blinking. Can't really complain since I got it for under 30 bucks I guess
The red light stops blinking after I add pressure to the top by pushing it with my hands
This happened to me too after I didn’t use the unit for several months. I put the filter under water for a few minutes, filled the water reservoir, unplugged the device from the wall, then plugged it back in. It ran without any issues from there on.
Lol sucker
Sooo, Its a humidifier.
How much did it cost? My dad’s girlfriend just ordered 3 of these online and by looking at the ad-website she bought from, I believe she got royally ripped off! :(
i think she got ripped off . They are now one for 89 or 3 for like 220 lol . I can't believe anybody would
buy this.
The one I ordered never showed up. Had my bank get my money back because the company disappeared.
@@lydiaajohnson Good result for you then.
These things work to a degree in a DRY environment. In a humid evironment? Nothing.
Believe me if it doesn't work off a refrigerant it's junk. And if he recommend you getting one then he's is the one who's trying to scam you or helping to scam you..
All these things are a joke. They cool maybe 6" from the front. It's a fan blowing over water. Put a fan behind a bowl of water.....same thing
It is NOT like a fan blowing across a bowl of water. A fan and bowl of water is seventy dollars cheaper.
@@ronw3639 lol....true!
I bought vornado fans, they are amazing. not cheap but amazing.
Is the water supposed to trickle down thru the black filter? Mine doesn't, and it juss blows warm air! Thxx
Mine sounds like yours. The water goes in a reservoir on the top, and just sits there. It would make sense for the water to drip down to where the filter could absorb the water and stay damp. My filter dries out in a few minutes and then all the to thing functions at is like a small, regular fan.
@@Callmemochaa yea bro, it's bs, majorly dissapointed in this product, doesn't do what it's supposed to!
Does it cool the whole room?
What’s the name of the device?
How good is this unit working inside a car/truck?
It won't cool your car, it just cools you if it's close by and pointed at you
It's a waste of time little Mini swamp cooler if you're humidity is high it will not do anything. Other than make you feel like you're drowning in moisture.
How many time would take till next Water recharge
No ink to the product featured?
How much temperature drop can you get in terms of grades?
You will only feel it in the immediate air flow. It will not cool a room.
@@claudelebel49 Apparently the new models cool the whole room.
There is one major issue to avoid when owning one of these. Do NOT urinate inside the unit without first unplugging it. Other then that you're good to go.
Oh, it's like everything else, a lie!
It’s a swamp cooler.
Is it effective if put ice instead of water or ice in cold water? What is the result? Does it bring down the temperature?
If you are producing that ice from a refrigerator INSIDE the same room you are trying to cool, it will actually heat up the room. Same reason that leaving your refrigerator door open will heat up your kitchen.
What’s the brand?
So it is a type of humidifier?
Yes, wicking style humidifier.
Is this better than TorGuard?
Everyone is saying it adds humidity... The Blaux has a setting like swamp cooler, but also a setting with no humidity. Does anyone know if they work well, how well, how much cubic footage they cover... Etc.
The Blaux I ordered never arrived. They wouldn’t take call or answer email. It was owned by a company in Europe but what a scam. Had to get my back to return my money. So even go there. Big scam.
So hot water , hot air?
Short answer no
Muy refrescante,lo uso al aire libre y funciona muy bien, dentro de casa en escritorio debe funcionar mejor
Don't waste your money. Bought 5 and all throw away. Contact them and they give you a run around. I have also emailed to the manufacturer in China and it all falls on deaf ears. More like a con.
It is a totally crap product - look it works in a fashion - but is not fit for the claimed purpose. Would love to get that money back. What a rort!
This is not no where near an air conditioner.
Has anybody know the make of that square little air filter
If it's hot and humid I don't see this being very helpful.
its only like $30 what did u expect a miracle?
@@TomSparkReviews where did you get one for $30? what I have found is $90 plus shipping with their so called 50% discount. that said it may be worth $30 as a fan. just maybe.
@@joekornokovich9299 Not even worth that, it's a $2 Shop item -seriously!
These work in a cubicle facing the sun on a hot day in an otherwise air-conditioned office. Those spots get really warm from the sun but the air is dry from the A/C. Lots of workplaces don't have curtains or blinds.

Do these water cooling conditioners work in really HUMID hot weather?
Not at all. They will just make the room more miserable in a hot and humid environment.
Idk but they’re like 20-30 bucks which is nothing. I live down south Louisiana so I’ll find out soon enough 😂

What a terribly unscientific review. No acknowledgement of perception of cooling of sweaty skin. Cannot tell from this review, but the general term for this kind of thing is 'evaporative air conditioner'. Only suitable for dry climates.
Mine stopped working properly after the first use. Filled the reservoir with water but the water is never used. The tank just stays fully van after hours of being used
