disregarding the different lighting, your skin does look happier; your undereyes look brighter. I'd say it's worth using for a lil longer (especially since you got it for free.99 lol)! thanks for being so willing to pioneer this daunting quest. I know us extra melanated folk really appreciate this!
Yeah, I know the lighting for my before is not great. I was in a rush to film. Exactly though, when things are free99 it's a different story. I recently saw Jackie Aina using a mask in one of her stories but I don't think she's done a video talking about it yet. She's not necessarily deep deep skinned but I respect her reviews and critique of beauty products. She's one of the main reasons I started paying attention to laser hair removal.
Hallease? When I watch, I respond like we’re sitting across the table from each other. You are so relatable, intelligent, kind and funny. I throughly enjoy your content. Thank for being my sister-friend on the interwebs. Love you like a play cousin!😉🙂
I'm so very happy that you have broached the subject! I am 62 in great health and skin and melanated! I went to a spa recently for infrared / near infrared treatment for infrared and near infrared treatment for weight loss.. I was told it would also tightened my skin! Rather than spend $1,000's with them for only 1 5 treatments I decided to do my research and purchase an at- home device. Would love to see your results as you are beautiful before treatment..😊
I get monthly facials at a medspa. I asked my esthetician if I should try it and she said there are different types of lights. She said she can’t guarantee that it’ll help my skin but it won’t hurt. She says it has nothing to do with melanin potency. I also know that they typically don’t consider us in their pre-market trials for skin and haircare products.
Great video! I had never hear of this before. Really interesting. I’d be curious how it works out for you after a month, six months, a year? Can we see updates?🌺 thanks for sharing your video
As a former acne haver the thing that worked for me was Accutane. I didn't experience the side effects other than dryness and I have not had acne since. I took it 10 years ago and now use tretinoin 5 nights a week. Good luck
It's hard to see with the lighting difference. I personally scrub my face with baking soda and water and it smooths my face. It used to be textured as well but I find this scrub greatly helps cell turnover and discolorations. The baking soda shouldn't be a grainy kind, it should feel like powder. Of course one should try it on a small area first before applying all over face and/or body. Follow with a toner to control for the high pH if needed, I personally don't though.
I also incorporate some sort of weekly phsyical exfoliant, my skin seems to really enjoy it. Yes, the lighting is not the best. I originally wanted the video to be an unboxing/how to but then they requested before and after instead and so I had to rush and do my before so it was an actual before and not a "staged" before.
She's pricey but I want her I might have to check out that offer code. Mr. Hallease needs to use it too not because he needs it but just to balance things out. Yall both need to walk around the house looking crazy lol. Also I heard that if you put aloe Vera gel on your skin while using the mask it enhances the product.
👀 Interesting! Whenever I put the mask on I announce to the apartment (Mr. Hallease) I have the mask on so don't freak out when you see me. It is pretty weird and slightly off putting.
Black girls need to get this because it can also help with pain and as the most disrespected, unprotected, and HIGHEST homecide rate (every 4.5-5hrs) we need everything we can get to help destress. Some people place it on their knees (if they have knee pain) and notice a difference in the pain (red light in particular)
There's alot of emperical evidence behind red light therapy and plenty of rigorous studies showing that it does work. Its difficult to tell from this video if this specific mask works though because of the lighting differences but I'm sure it does help. Would be useful if you did a follow up video that compares your 4 week results with results further down the line in the same kind of lighting.
You said middle ground ❓ You look so young...17,18, 23 at most. What do you consider middle ground? Lol. No matter what age you are. You are so beautiful. You could be a beauty influencer.
hi..love ur channel..if you want a difference in your skin research retinol and tretinoin..ambi (a black girls staple) just came out with a cream with retinol in it ..Any of these products will deliver results in texture, tone smoothness and brightness
Some LED lights can actually damage or worsen the appearance of melanated skin, such as blue light which can worsen melasma or dark spots for eg. That’s why it’s important to be cautious and inform urself before using
I see no difference between the before and after, except the lighting. Why, since I know you are an expert at lighting, did you not choose to have consistent lighting between the before and after? Also, as a physicist, light therapy seems like a nonsense fad to me. The blue light possibly causing hyper pigmentation does make sense, because blue light has a shorter wavelength and is closer to UV (also, depending on which LEDs they use, there might be some actual UV light). I am not a medical doctor or a skin expert, so maybe there are some biological processes triggered by the light, but as I physicist this seems like just as effective as being in bright (room) lamp light for 5-10 minutes, or even outside in the sun! (The UV is very low when the sun is still low in the sky such as in the mornings or evenings.)
I originally wanted to do an unboxing/how I use the mask video, but they requested a before and after. In a hurry, I filmed the before footage so yes it is not lit the same but I wanted to make sure I wasn't lying or staging a before that wasn't truly my before.
There's quite a bit of emperical evidence on the effects of red light therapy for the skin. You don't have to look far for rigorous (i.e randomized control trials) on red light therapy so definitely not a fad.
She needs to work on her texture…her blemishes are bad which she mentions her struggle with it ... she needs a aha/bha or pha toner and Niacinamide 10% in her life …
Looks like the red led really did something. Can you keep giving us before and after updates? ✨️ This was such an eye opening, honest and refreshing review. Thank you❤
Giiirrrlllll how come a went on the site just to see what the code was lookin like and it went from $319 to $318.99 and no mention of a gift box 🥲 I hope the company isn't being messy and it's just a mistake.
Aight so tried it on my end and yeah it's not working so I took the link off the description box. Thanks for letting me know. I wont be working with them again.
@@hallease I'm so sorry! It's not a good sign when a company drops the ball like that (after receiving free publicity, no less). Only silver lining is that you got a free mask out of is and we got another amazing video from you!
TBH, since the lighting is totally different for the before and after pics I'm like 🤔🧐😶🤷🏾♀️🙃
*shrug* same I feel like the difference is negligible
Thank god a young BLACK person

@@hallease yeah I've been thinking about laser hair removal too. I've watched your video on it, and it convinced me for sure!
When you said "beige variety" my melanated self thought you were referring to light-skinned POC (at first). 🤷🏾♀️😂
Yo, it can mean whatever you want it to mean!

You look good sis. Skin is glowing I see the difference

Salicylic acid it a game changer for me when it comes to smoothing skin the ordinary has a good one really cheap less than $10 love it
I've never heard of these masks or this type of therapy. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Oh man, the beauty gurus are a blaze about them right now

TBH i'm not sure how consistently I will use it long term but if I stick with it I'll keep this in mind. 😁
Can we get a 3mo update? 🙇🏽♀️
Sunscreen has restored my skin! My melasmas & post-blemish marks faded! I wear it everyday, too.
What brand do you use?
"Enduring to persevere." I love that. It speaks tuh meh.

You should try using it for at least two months to see results.❤
Thank you so much for this review. I've been researching if this would be good for me. Are you still using this?
Mmmm, I love a beauty gadget as much as the next, butttttt nah. LoL. I’m glad you got a freebie tho 😁
Ha! Same. Now that I've gotten to use it I don't know if I would purchase it, using it consistently isn't impossible but kind of time consuming.

Oh really? Interesting. I wonder how well it would work for menstrual cramps, that I currently have right now!
You just killed my buzz
Interesting, I did notice one of the settings was "pain reducer" but thought that was strange. Now I want to look into this more.
It will help with the texture and pores for your skin

Your skin does look more vibrant. It's a little pricey though. I'm you were our guinea pig 😆
Hmm i wish it was the same lighting. You really can’t get an accurate conclusion with different lighting and different zoom length
You said middle ground ❓
You look so young...17,18, 23 at most. What do you consider middle ground? Lol.
No matter what age you are. You are so beautiful. You could be a beauty influencer.
Wait a minute, you made a video on good lighting and have two pictures of completely different lighting??

It brought out my daughters acne scars more. I'm glad it didn't with you. She's very upset. Omnilux said it is just a side effect they hear about.
I had this mask before its good
If it works for white skin why would it not work for melanated skin? Lol y’all know the magic in our melanin right?✨

You don’t even look 32
Yeah she could last for 24/25 easy
You are so beautiful
Oh thank you!
