    A detail I love in the Snape vs McGonagall, is that Snape first deflects the spells into the other two death eaters, and before he flees actually taking the wands with him. So that the order could deal with them easily.

      Narcissa just watched Harry take a SECOND Avada Kedavra from Voldemort and live... at that point she knew Voldemort couldnt kill him and who would eventually win. Sadly, George never recovered from Fred’s death after the war. It was like a part of him died with Fred. The shared grief eventually led him and Angelina Johnson (the one who went to the Yule Ball with Fred) to become a couple. In the later years, George named his son Fred II and gave his son his wand, while George kept Fred’s wand.
    On a lighter note, James Phelps, who played Fred, had the best reaction when he found out that his character was going to die 😂 He was on a train reading the book and was reading up to the scene Fred died; then the ticket officer came and asked for his ticket, but his response was “Mate, come on, I’ve just died here, let me have a bit of time to myself!'" 🤣🤣

    Snaps actually despised Neville a lot because of the prophecy. The prophecy spoke of a boy born at the end of July and both Harry and Neville were born at the end of July. Snape believed that the prophecy could have been talking about Neville instead of Harry and Lily wouldn’t have to have died. In the end, Neville killed the last horcrux (snake) and therefore the prophecy could have been about him.

    One thought on Draco.
    Everyone that watches this movie for the first time seems to be instinctively waiting for the moment that Draco does something to cement his face turn, and is inevitably let down when it peaks with him and his parents just.. walking away. Now, as an audience member, I agree that this isn't the most 'satisfying' conclusion to this character. However, having had a lot of time to process it, I appreciate the movie's restraint, and actually like it just the way it is.
    There's a reason Draco isn't a Gryffindor. He's not a courageous lad. He was placed in Slytherin before the hat even touched his head. And one thing that Slytherins do compulsively is self-preserve. The Malfoys, through the entire series, are perfect representatives of this. None of them follow Voldemort because they want to - like many of the Slytherin characters, they just think it's impossible to do away with him, and they just want to be around when the dust settles. They're there entirely based on fear.
    The Malfoys didn't need to kill Nagini to have a complete arc, they didn't need to hold Voldemort's arms back while Harry blasted him, and they didn't need to give a big speech to Voldemort about how they were defying him. Instead, the Malfoy arc ends with the family doing what they never had the strength to do before - abandoning Voldemort. And that's all they had to do. They go against their sense of self-preservation, and risk their assured safety, simply by going home. They're not courageous people, they never were, but they're doing the most courageous thing they ever will, and I like that.

    • @dansharp2860

      Lucius actually does want to follow Voldemort while he and his family are still considered among Voldemort's most trusted. It's only after Lucius fails to get the prophecy that things go real bad for them. The Malfoy name, which Lucius cares more about than his own actual family, becomes almost worthless making them also almost worthless to Voldemort. Draco should have been one of the first invited to the new Slug Club but now Malfoy means Death Eater. They live only because Voldemort wants to use their house as his own. For the rest of the series Lucius is trying to get back in LV's good graces and to restore the family name but when the final battle comes, I think, they've worked out that it shouldn't take the greatest dark wizard of all time this long to kill one measly teenager. They (or at least his wife) just want to find Draco and wait out Voldemort's certain defeat.

    • @redcardinalist
      @redcardinalist 2 роки тому +5

      @@dansharp2860 Well that still runs with what Ktraeg said "nstead, the Malfoy arc ends with the family doing what they never had the strength to do before - abandoning Voldemort. • @dansharp2860
      @dansharp2860 2 роки тому +12

      @@redcardinalist Not really, by the time they actually do leave it's obvious that Voldemort can't kill Harry so they are not going against any sense at all. They are not even the first of Voldemort's followers to leave either. They just watched him point blank hit Harry with a killing curse and still not kill him. The fact that Lucius looks back at all shows just how much he had wanted to be at Voldemort's side when he won but the dream is now completely dead. The smart Slytherin thing to do is to abandon Voldemort at this moment. Besides, neither Narcissa or Lucius have a wand at this moment so fighting for either side is impossible.

    Given what we’ve learnt about the Deathly Hallows (yay! I can finally spill the fun facts!), we can say that Voldemort represents the Elder Wand because he craved for power. Snape represents the Resurrection Stone because of his love for Lily as he was willing to die for her. Harry, of course, represents the Invisibility Cloak, which, fun fact, it is said that the Potters are descendants of Ignotus Peverell (the one whom Death bestowed the cloak). And without surprises, Dumbledore is Death; as we see Harry was greeted by him after Harry was ‘killed’ by Voldemort.
    Interestingly, we can argue that the Black sisters also represent the Deathly Hallows (except, they never had any contact with the said objects). The oldest, Bellatrix, pursued power, therefore she represents the Elder Wand. Middle child, Andromeda (Tonks’ mother) pursued love by marrying a muggle-born, as a result she was kicked out of the family and seen as ‘dead’, making her represent the Resurrection Stone. The youngest, Narcissa (Draco’s mother), remained invisible by not showing her true intelligence and powers (she was not seen as a threat because people only regarded her a prize/housewife of an Ancient and Noble House), evidently by being able to lie to Voldemort, therefore she represents the Invisibility Cloak.

    I really loved how they did the Malfoys' retreat. You notice, Draco ignored his abusive Death-Eater father calling to him, but came when the mother who loved him called. And when the battle starts, Draco and Narcissa are walking away hand in hand with no hesitation, while Lucius is still looking back, as if he is still half thinking/hoping that he can go back and maybe things will work out his way with the Dark Lord. Or just terrified of how much trouble he is going to be in if Voldemort wins. But even he chooses to follow his family in the end. According to Rowling, Draco grew out of the Pureblood supremacy nonsense after the books, but Lucius never entirely gave it up. I don't think it was ever said what Narcissa did afterward, but from the Half Blood Prince on, it was pretty clear that Narcissa's first priority was always to protect her own family.

    • @fireidar
      @fireidar 2 роки тому +4

      Narcissa stayed with her husband. Draco married Astoria Greengrass, younger sister of Daphne (the one who said to grab Harry after Severus fled) and they had a son Scorpious, Astoria wasn't as obsessed with Pure-blood dogma as her sister and raised Scorpius differently, as Draco wanted, Lucius DID NOT approve of Astoria, wanting his son to marry a good Pure-blood woman like Daphne, someone who believed in their ways, but Draco didn't care, leading to the relationship with his parents to be strained. In the Cursed Child both Albus Severus (Harry's son) and Scorpious are friends. I think I read they stayed in their home and while Lucius never recovered from his ruined reputation, Narcissa chose to stay by his side.

    For more clarification: As you could tell, Snape loved Lily.
    The patronus doe actually has a deeper meaning to it, as basically, when you love someone, you share the same Patronus as that person. So Snape loved Lily, Lily's Patronus was a doe, and so Snape's was a doe as well. That's why it hit so hard, and when he said 'Always', it further showed how until then, Snape still loved Lily. It's really sad and really beautiful at the same time.
    As I recall, once Voldemort thought he killed Harry, he wanted to morph Hogwarts into his own liking, by making Slytherin the symbol of the school, and to replace the banner with the colors green and black.
    There are some other heartwarming things I would want to mention, but now that you're reading the books, I don't want to spoil anything for you

    I’ve enjoyed watching all the reactors who reacted to HP but you’ve taken the cake with your reactions. How invested you became in all the characters as well as your in depth analysis breaking the reactions kind of into two parts which is actually, I think refreshing rather than having a full review and analysis at the end. Your extensive knowledge of all the British actors that were apart of one of the biggest franchises ever was also interesting. I wasn’t even fussed by your long intros, it just showed how much you were into the movies and how excited you were for the next one. I can not wait for you to react to the 20th Anniversary special as well as the Fantastic Beasts franchise. ❤️

    I didn't know there was a real Dobby's Grave. I legit started tearing up when you showed the pic of people's stones, I found it such a touching memorial to a beloved character, from the fandom. So wholesome.
    I am so glad I found your channel through your Hogwarts Legacy reaction. I binged all your HP movie reactions at once, except for this one. Bittersweet that its over, but I really enjoyed your reactions.
    I don't know why you apologize for crying lol, I personally love seeing that you become so attached to these characters, and that you really do love them as much as we do when one is lost in the story. (You make ME cry lol, but I love it!)
    Snape is my favorite character in literature because of his arc. As far as his Patronus being a Doe, I'm pretty sure your Patronus can change depending on certain criteria, given your Patronus is conjured by your happiest memory. or maybe you can change them yourself if you feel the need to. His was likely changed into a Doe when he either fell in love with Lillie Potter, or after she died as a tribute to her.
    Beautiful, beautiful story.
    I dont recall for the books, which you dont wanna hear about anyway XD, but in the movie, Neville does kill the last Horcrux, making Voldemort able to be killed. And Harry's Priori Incantatum forces Voldemort's killing curse right back at him when Voldemort loses that contest of wills (that electrocution like SFX right at the end when Voldemort winces). which is what ultimately kills him. Felled by the very spell he constantly abused.
    I do know, that Harry allowing Voldemort to "kill" him, acted exactly like Lillie's sacrifice which protected Harry from the killing curse, but by a hundred fold, protecting everyone at Hogwarts. Curses by the death eaters after that moment had little to no effect on their targets, which helped greatly in the last part of the battle just before Harry defeated Voldemort.
    I will be sticking around for your other HP content, and maybe more! may even go back and see what else you have that I am also interested in. I've found so many wonderful creators thru the Hogwarts Legacy reaction videos, some few, like you, are a handful of creators whose content I legitimately am eager to see on my Subs feed.

    You're gonna love Ron in the books even more. He is so much better!
    If you remember in Goblet of Fire, Wormtail gave his hand to bring back his master. As a reward, Voldemort gave him a silver hand to replace it. In the Malfoy Manor, in the 7th book, this is where Wormtail died. It's not really showed like this in the movies but in the book...SPOILER
    This is what happened (SPOILERS):
    The noise they had heard was the house-elf Dobby apparating away with some of the prisoners in the cellar. When he[Peter] opened the door, he was tackled by Ron and Harry, who had freed themselves of their restraints. Ron managed to wrestle Pettigrew's wand from him. Peter began to strangle Harry, but Harry reminded him that he owed him a life debt.
    "You're going to kill me? After I saved your life? You owe me, Wormtail!"
    When Pettigrew hesitated, his brief moment of mercy caused his silver hand to turn on him, strangling and killing him, despite Harry and Ron's best efforts to restrain it.

    I don’t normally comment on UA-cam videos, but this reaction series was absolutely incredible. Wasn’t familiar with Veg’s work before, but this has to be the best series of its kind I’ve ever seen. When the creator seems so genuine, emotional, and an all around positive person, it elevates the entire genre. About Snape having Lily's patronus: So you know how they say that the patronus comes from happy memories? Then Snape's patronus should mean that, since he loved her, the thought of her or memories of her are so strong that they form the potronus symbolizing happiness for him. And my own speculation is that maybe the memories of her are the only happy ones he has. So basically, he's patronus was produced from love.
    I wan't to add that this is my very emotional explanation. I am so deeply invested in Snape's storyline, but I feel like that is the truth(that it is not curious at all...)But it's left as a little mystery so my comment didn't spoil anything for you. The memory scene in the book is a bit longer though. Maybe you will find your own meaning of it all :)
    I also really want to say that I've been loving all your reactions and that you don't hide the emotions (I cried with you, i always do when i see those memories. Always.) and Snape's story is really my favorite so it's been a pleasure seeing you react so genuinly, just like you do with the whole series. Just the fact that you write down the names and take notes when your watching is just great.
    Keep it up, you are a GEM!!!

    Oh, I ADORED these reactions!! You are such a genuine person, you made me feel like I was watching these for the first time all over again!! 😭 Thank you for bringing us along the ride!! You're so precious, made me smile so much!! ❤️
    Some details I think you'll appreciate:
    - Dumbledore's story: in your reaction video to "Deathly Hallows pt. 1", I mentioned a bit of it, but here's the better explanation. Dumbledore had a brother (Aberforth) and a sister (Ariana). He was close friends with Grindelwald, as we saw before, but when Grindelwald started getting into the dark arts, him and Dumbledore got into the most epic fight in the wizarding world, that Dumbledore ultimately won (keeping the Elder wand). However, amidst the fighting, a lost spell hit Ariana, killing her. They never figured out which of the two killed her, but Aberforth evidently resented his brother for it. There's a few more details I can't quite remember, if somebody wants to fill in, feel free! :) But this is the jist of it!
    - During Snape's fight with McGonagall, if you pay close attention, you'll notice Snape never truly attacks her, only defends himself, and even deflects some of her spells to hit the two Death Eaters behind him! He's essentially helping her, and buying them time! It's the little details in these movies that make me so happy!
    - When Lily cast herself between Harry and Voldemort that night, she involuntarily cast a spell ("Fidelius", I believe it's called) that basically protected Harry, which is why Voldemort couldn't kill him! This is a far better explanation than just "her love saved him", because as beautiful as that is, it wouldn't make much sense on it's own. ALSO, when Harry went to the forest to sacrifice himself and save everybody else, he involuntarily cast the same spell on everybody else at Hogwarts, so when Voldemort and his followers went back with "dead" Harry, they couldn't hurt anybody! It's a full circle, and such a lovely detail!
    - The reason Harry was able to come back after being killed is because in Goblet of Fire, Voldemort used his blood to come back. So he only killed the part of his soul that was inside Harry, and not Harry himself. Furthermore, because Harry's blood ran through his veins, so did Lily's spell, "tying" Harry to life and giving him the chance to come back!
    - Finally, a nice extra info, Harry's kids' names are James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna! Adorable!! 😊
    Once more, thank you millions for allowing us to feel the wonder and excitement of these movies all over again, by sharing your experience with us!! I just KNEW you'd be thrilled with Neville on this one!!! 😁
    Much love to you!! ❤️

    45:24 You missed a line again Veggie. It was _Goyle_ who set the place ablaze, that's why his wand was gushing flames, and Ron _screamed_ that while he was running away. You were busy making the Han Solo reference to hear it.

    That line when Dumbledore says that “help will always be given to those who deserve it” is much more important than it seems at first glance. It’s Dumbledore tellong Harry that he deserves help, that he should stop doing everything alone and finally accept the help of his friends.

  • @PhilBagels
    @PhilBagels 2 роки тому +1

    Neville may have been the one on the bridge, but it was Seamus who set the explosions. Fire and explosion-type spells were always his specialty. From first year, "My eyebrows have completely grown back!" And his potions would occasionally explode in potions class.
    The actor who played Crabbe apparently got himself into some legal trouble, and wasn't available for this movie, so they had Goyle cast the FiendFire spell that burned everything in the Room of Requirement (including himself). It was actually the fiendfire spell that destroyed the Diadem. So Goyle (or Crabbe in the book) actually destroyed one of the horcruxes. Fiendfire is a powerful spell, but it's very difficult to control once you've cast it. Voldemort casts it and controls it successfully in the duel with Dumbledore at the Ministry at the end of OotP.
    So each horcrux was destroyed by a different person:
    Harry killed the Diary.
    Dumbledore killed the Ring.
    Ron killed the Locket.
    Hermione killed the Cup.
    Crabbe/Goyle killed the Diadem.
    Voldemort killed Harry.
    Neville killed the Snake.
    I'm glad you're reading the books. There's a lot more detail in there, and some other characters you'll love.

    I'm not crying, only tearing up... I consider growing up with this series, both in book and movie form, as a blessing. It's amazing. Severus scene is probably my favorite one with how tragic it makes the character. And Alan Rickman knew, from the very beggining. J.K Rowling thought it was important enough. McGonall is one of my favorite too. She was always looking out for Harry and might have been like a mother or grandmother to him. I love how Voldemort choose his own defeat. Neville might have been the chosen one if he was a half-breed like Harry. The things that destroy you are always the closest. I have to say, applying the deathly hallows to Voldemort, Snapes and Harry makes it even better. Great journey with the books :p

    Great reaction man! Been waiting for this one. Honestly I do think this movie is one of the best in the series, if not the best. Personally I enjoyed Order of the Phoenix more, especially the exciting battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort. But I think the "19 years later" scene was a fantastic way to end off the series. I love the Harry Potter series... for me, it's up there with Lord of the Rings as being one of the best movie series of all time. Still, nothing beats Lord of the Rings for me, but Harry Potter comes very close.

    FYI Wormtail died in Malfoy Manor when in the Book he actually tried to repay his debt to Harry for not letting Sirius & Remus kill him in the 3rd HP Book. But that Silver hand that Voldemort gave him to replace the hand that Wormtial chopped off in the 5th book is what actually Kills Wormtail, the Silver hand Strangles Wormtail to death... what a way for Peter Pettigrew aka Wormtail to go, trying to set James Potters son free from Malfoy Manor Dungeon before Dobby Gets them out, it's actually Karma for following Voldemort, death by your own hand that was a gift from Voldemort, he must have known that Wormtail might help Harry at some point, so once the hand detected hat wormtail was doing, it automatically killed him.
