  • Review of Integrated Engineering (IE) Stage 1 tune with an IE cold air intake on my 2017 Audi A4 B9.
    Summary
    Awesome design. love this product. only negative is make sure to get the intercooler as the heat soak is bad. I still highly recommend this product and you will not be disappointed.
    Notes: my car was already warm from pratice videos so the car was not running at max but it should still give you an idea of how much improved the performance is!
    Follow up: I will post some videos later on that are just of launching and rolling starts to get an idea of the speed.

    I will second this review. I’ve had the same tune on B9 A5 with just an intake and it will heat soak. This car has the same intercooler as the s5/sq5 That car heat soaks faster.
    My stock GTI and my tuned Tiguan heat soak. All stock intercoolers.
    Any turbo vehicle driven hard should have an intercooler that matches driving style. I’m an extra heavy foot.

      Over all of this time, I have only had 1 issue out of the tune.... it truly needs the intercooler to run better without heat soak. With that being said as many times as I have put it on and taken it off and pushed her hard, I have not had any issues at all. The intercooler would just help it reach its potential and stay there but you are still good to run without one as I do. I highly recommend this tune! Let me know if you have any more questions

      @going_ham_by6308  2 роки тому +3

      Of course it will affect the longevity. Anytime you apply more mechanical strain to a system you run the risk of reducing life span and inducing failures. Changing a car beyond factory Specifications will always run that risk. That being said there are many things you can do safely and within a tolerance range that will not damage the mechanical system.

    Had a IE stage1 tune on my 16 A3 1.8t with 30k miles and the exhaust turbine broke off within 5k miles of tune installed. IE gave me a refund, but not for the turbo. Buyer beware. I did have their dsg tune but it was not working right. Erratic and hard shifting. Would not shift at red line and sending engine into limp mode setting misfire codes. It did take a second off 1/4 mile time with draggy. 15.4 to 14.3. Too much boost for the IS12 turbo. Or maybe the previous owner abused the turbo. I couldn't tell, and engine oil looked clean. I did contact IE with my issues but they had no answer for my issues. They just told me the tune was set for my car.

    If the car is too hot to perform 100% when it's been driving around at 1500 rpm at 40 mph for a few minutes, with mid-range water temps, and 45 degree outdoor temps, something doesnt seem right. There shouldn't be heat soak in the environment shown in the video, especially if the cold air intake is worth anything, even if it was run hard before filming started. Driving around calmly at 40-50 mph in cool weather would drop temps quickly. Something seems fishy.
