The same thing happened to me in 2019. I was in Wipro Hyderabad. I took leave for 15 days due to Dengue fever. The doctor suggested that to take bed rest for 15 days. But I told my Team Lead to give me 10 days leave and the rest of the 5 days I will do work from home. I got all the approval from my team lead, manager, and from my client. After 15 days I will join. In the middle of my leave, one of my team members told me that you are no longer in the team. Then I checked my mail it was written that "it is a termination due to cost-cutting". They terminated me without prior notice or warning. I can see these things have become very common nowadays. Companies are doing a betrayal policy with employees. They don't think twice before taking these types of actions.

He delivered a very high value project that was renowned globally across the company and is an absolute benchmark of high quality. Come 2023, there were some pushes and pulls in our department’s global and India organisation, and in order to accommodate the aspirations of another leader here, our global head asked him to relocate to the headquarters country and report into another leader under the global head, who was running an important transformation project. That person and this leader from India did not get along, and just one year later, the company let go of this India leader who moved to HQ country. Performance ratings or anything else is unimportant- a company is a place of transactions and will let you go without a second thought regardless of your past record
