Based on the comments, everyone seems to agree upon the fact that the Divorced law is flawed and it's going to destroy not only men but our society, anything bad for man can't be good for woman, Law maker didn't bother finding the better solution to this problem.
I am sure there are many intellect out there, I wonder what could our lawmaker have done better while protecting the vulnerable woman.
We'd like to hear the ideas, that can be substitute of current law.
Taking into the account of fact that not many women are self dependent like the one in the above video, short and simple solution is the best solution, We've always believe in the fact the no law is better than bad law.
The best a court can do is provide house to wife and let give ger amount where in she can manage for a year or two and later she can earn herself...by this husband will get rid of wife and wife as women will not be harrased socially as she will have a place to live in...she can earn for herself ... and kids both have to take care after divorce or by whoever is taking custody of the children

The law itself is problematic. It says that the ex-wife should maintain the same standard of living as her ex-husband and always men have to pay for it. That means, as the man progress in his career, the wife will also get a share of his success without contributing anything. Later, if the man faces any trouble in his life, the ex-wife won't share the hardships. This law must be changed. During marriage, the one time alimony amount should be fixed with inflation adjustment, both parties should agree and then go ahead with the marriage to avoid such unnecessary waste of time of the court in future.

Legally, there is no such provision in the court of law. So, even if you make such an agreement, it will not be admissible in the court..

This is very good. The same thing is happening to me. My wife lived hardly a month with me and left me with trivial reasons. She has now filed a Maintenance Case asking for nearly 50% of my salary for the rest of her life (until she re-marries or dies). She is earning enough to support herself and is from a well-to-do family, and if she gets the 50% of my earnings, her monthly income + this money would be huge money... more than my total earnings. No children. I have filed for divorce now under two grounds. Have to wait and see what happens.

Alimony should be illegalised in india like dowry. It should be applicable if husband doesn't allow or deny wife to work or to stop her career after marriage. If everyone gets same opportunity, time why woman should get the alimony only. Husband should get alimony in case wife leaves husband after husband becomes bankrupt in business or loose a job. It should get equal treatment. How many woman chooses a man who earns less than her. Man should learn and make new criteria for marriage that equal treatment and expenses will be splitted after marriage.
