No matter how much sim time you do you’re overflying it. Buy yourself a Rtf Freestyle drone (Lumenier or something like that)with the Hd system and pair it with a Taranis or TBS tango (Tango being the better choice) and fly that like that. Without being able to adjust the pids on the Dji you really can’t fly them as hard. Way too much prop wash, which causes heat and battery depletion.
Try to fly this as smooth as you can, little throttle burst and more on the move rolls and flips..
I’ve been building and flying drones sense fat sharks v1 analog goggles first hit the market. I just purchased the dji but definitely know it’s limits.it’s 70% Videographer drone and 30% freestyle drone.

    • @hgrunt100
      @hgrunt100 2 роки тому +4

@@thefox4944 A drone is weighted piece of flying electronics, controlled via a fallible radio signal, from an extremely fallible human operator on the ground. With the battery installed, the DJI FPV weighs about 800 grams. This guy is flying inside his car (A big no-no in terms of interference and fail-safe range, thankfully the DJI drone will return to the homepoint if its signal is lost) Is flying alone without a visual observer, is flying low and at high speeds, is flying around people who are not aware of the danger, and is flying over and near active roadways. Its all about eliminating the slim chances of something going terribly wrong. If an object weighing over 1.5 lbs is going 80+ mph, and hits an unaware soft target, the damage could be anything from broken bones to death. I will give him credit though, he had his registration sticker in a clearly identifiable place at least.

Glad you're enjoying FPV, and you're not disheartened by a (expensive) crash. Your videos are helpful and interesting.
I'm new myself, took the other approach: I built a cheap FPV quad thanks to Joshua Bardwell's instructions, and I'm enjoying this hobby as much as you are, I think.
Now, sorry to spoil the fun (and I don't take any pleasure from it) but like some have said, this is not a sensible place to learn FPV acro (even less so with a quad so heavy).
It may be ok to cruise smoothly (or do acro with a super light quad like the Tinyhawk freestyle maybe), but the traffic nearby and the pedestrians walking in the park are Murphy's Law waiting to happen.
Add to this fact that you're also flying in non-ideal conditions (wind), so please review and reconsider your own risk assessment.
As I said, I'm new to this hobby but I've been a licensed pilot and skydiver some years ago and I had to learn to be patient, find the proper places and wait for the good conditions (which is hard to do when you're super-excited about a new activity).
But I look forward to seeing other interesting and cool videos from you! Subscribed :)

I enjoyed your honest, accurate review. I've been building and flying FPV quadcopters for over 4 years. I've flown and learned from the Rotor Riot pilots. I've built over 20 drones and crashed a lot of them learning acro. I've lost a few in mountains, water, trees etc., etc. So, basically, this hobby can get expensive whether you started building or buy DJI FPV. I started with the Phantom 3 years ago. I bought the the Phantom 4 then got bored after I saw what people were doing flying FPV. I went into FPV head over heels and now I feel like I can confidently fly FPV in acro with my own custom built quads. I've spent a lot of money on this hobby. You said it, with risk, there is reward. "If you ain't crashin', you ain't flyin'". So, spend time in the simulator or spend your money. But you experienced how fun it is to fly FPV. You mentioned your desire to do spirals, flips and rolls. It's addictive. I admit it. I have a problem. Or is it therapy? I think the latter. ua-cam.com/video/J_tRcKrLiPE/v-deo.html

You can learn acro with tiny whoops and cinewhoops which handle crashes well. All parts are available also. I just dont think a fragile quad needs acro mode. Those that fly acro crash because they are trying new things. Its not so bad when you have spare parts and can fix it unlike the dji fpv quad. To me its just a mavic with short flights and less quality video.

Neither platforms are designed for banging the sticks around, if you want smooth cinematic usable footage with a mavic everything has to be precision and calculated as well, even pinching.
Most people take a few videos with mavics and think that's it but just like fpv flying can get really deep and precise, so can Filming with mavics.

I'd say every dji fpv drone sold will get crashed within 3 months. It's human nature to try new things - hitting smaller and smaller gaps, lower level flips. I'd suggest getting a DJI air unit (either DJI or Caddx Vista) based drone, but one that is set up for a standard RC transmitter - TBS crossfire perhaps, a cheap RC controller with a crossfire module and you can still use the DJI goggles. The carbon fibre drone will be a lot tougher and cheaper to replace. Another option - the one I went for is to get an analogue receiver and attach that to the goggles analogue in. Then you can use any analogue drone with appropriate transmitter - like the jumper RC T-lite. You can use any compatible drone with that, from $80 tinywhoops to 5" racers / freestyle drones. Put the drone into angle mode or the more like acro 'horizon' mode to ease into fpv. you will crash a lot, but the crashes are cheap.

Throttle control and yawthority and the machine will do what it’s told. It has the power and sure it heavy, and that doesn’t help, but... pick one tree and blip over it. Punch out full throttle and see how fast you can escape certain doom. Best of luck on this journey. Expensive place to start.

Second the flying it self, nothing risky, for two days training its pretty mutch regular in fpv world, after two days i used to fly way faster and riskier, but i crash my drone and drown in water many times, ofc its analog carbon fiber based sport drone so its just normal to crash those multiple times a day, pick it up and fly again... most of those drones made with beginners in mind, mine cost 80 euros and fly 116mph with s4 battery...after many crashes it still fly and ask no repair.

How long are you getting out of your batteries?
I swear I’m only getting about 5 minutes of flight.
I took off for a flight yesterday, and was at 97% at take off.
I got just about the 5 minute mark when the low battery RTH kicks in. Then as it’s rising, I cancel rtf to come home, but it won’t go forwards or backwards, only turn on its yaw, or go up and down.
I started getting worried as it was saying critically low battery, aircraft landing, as I was over water!
But then it started responding again and I came and landed just in time.
But yeah about 5 minutes flight time.
That’s 5 mins as high speed in sports mode, but swear I should be getting a bit longer than that… no?
& do u have any idea why the forward or backward stick input was not responsive after the ‘oh shit’ button went off for an automatic low battery rth?

LOL I almost bit the dust by inches a few days ago doing the same thing, power loop. I'm not sure how this drone fits in my collection as I have over 35 FPV drones and all of DJI's stuff and EVO2. I think I need to fly it like a Mavic with lite acro. But I know I'm gonna crash it because it's under powered and can't get you out of situation like my other 5"s can plus when you crash a real FPV drone 90% of the time you just replace a prop or two. I think this is why the faa sees fpv pilot as dangerous.

    • @xavier_arthur
      @xavier_arthur  2 роки тому

      That's not true
FAA has no problems with FPV pilots.
FAA wants no collision with manned and unmanned aircrafts, plus they want to integrate commercial drone operations with consumer drone operations safety.
Please keep abreast with the FAA news.

The bad "shabang" - LOL!! Keep practicing and I guarantee you'll have more fun on a "bang up" drone! All the fun (and more) without the "shabang" to the pocketbook! 😂 Keep flying!

You know what they say about FPV flying "it is not if you crash it's when you crash!"
Sorry about your drone. Can't wait to see your next video.

I'm really enjoying your videos. I have a question about the drone sound in the background. Does this drone have a mic on it? Did you add one to it or did you add the sound effect afterwards? If so the sound is in perfect synch with the drone's actions. Excellent video man.

Glad to see you flying in the fpv world. You should look into a digital fpv drone like a iflight titan dc5. Battery’s are cheaper and cheaper to repair. You get the quality of dji camera and use your new goggles with it. More freestyle go pro footage.
