Happy Flying 😊
I've been flying in the DRL, so far haven't gone full manual with the DJI FPV just some low flying in standard and sport modes. The coordinated turn feature is cool.
Liftoff is great, but does it work with that new remote and V2 goggles?
That drone is definitely the next step into fpv.
No matter how much sim time you do you’re overflying it. Buy yourself a Rtf Freestyle drone (Lumenier or something like that)with the Hd system and pair it with a Taranis or TBS tango (Tango being the better choice) and fly that like that. Without being able to adjust the pids on the Dji you really can’t fly them as hard. Way too much prop wash, which causes heat and battery depletion.
Try to fly this as smooth as you can, little throttle burst and more on the move rolls and flips..
I’ve been building and flying drones sense fat sharks v1 analog goggles first hit the market. I just purchased the dji but definitely know it’s limits.it’s 70% Videographer drone and 30% freestyle drone.
@@AtortAerials Remote yes, goggles no.
Damn Bro you broke all of the racing drone rules LOL plus that flying by the freeway makes me nervous
Def not a smart idea for anyone learning. Putting a lot of people in danger.
Just what I suspected from these noobs.
Get ready guys, more regulation is coming because now the morons can get into fpv.
@@dangerous8333 Yeas, soon someone moron will kill a child with dji fpv and we who responsible and with more than two brain cells will suffer... First you have to learn things you -can do and -cant, before even considering tu arm your drone. Its good this drone didnt crash on someones head, but next time might.
What are theese rules?
@@thefox4944 A drone is weighted piece of flying electronics, controlled via a fallible radio signal, from an extremely fallible human operator on the ground. With the battery installed, the DJI FPV weighs about 800 grams. This guy is flying inside his car (A big no-no in terms of interference and fail-safe range, thankfully the DJI drone will return to the homepoint if its signal is lost) Is flying alone without a visual observer, is flying low and at high speeds, is flying around people who are not aware of the danger, and is flying over and near active roadways. Its all about eliminating the slim chances of something going terribly wrong. If an object weighing over 1.5 lbs is going 80+ mph, and hits an unaware soft target, the damage could be anything from broken bones to death. I will give him credit though, he had his registration sticker in a clearly identifiable place at least.
thats a nice spot you found... not close to a highway or running people...
If you already know how to fly its a good spot.
You can fly low like many peapole with fpv drones.

I seriously thought I’m ready to go all out on M mode with my DJI FPV but then this video popped on my feed.😩 Is this a sign?!!!

Take off in normal mode, go up to a safe altitude, switch to M mode for a bit, then switch back to normal mode to land.
Why you just dont buy 100$ carbon fiber based analog drone and learn, they are ultra beginners friendly, wery durable to hold back against crashes, after flying sport drones you wont want to come back to dji, dji meant for cinematography not hobby flying...
Just take it easy bro it's very different but you get muscle memory pretty quick
DJI found a new business model - Build a drone that people will buy Care Refresh on, then charge them more than the cost of manufacture to replace it - for every crash.
👀
So true
Yup, $1800 bucks total cost with replacement.
Especially if you buy the drone, never having flown acro before and expecting to get the same as a freestyle drone you see on yt...
@Steve Kratz,Yeah no wonder they have stopped production of it already, 🤣🤣
don't believe me,go look at their website and then goggle it. 😉😁
Hurts so good... Learning to fly on Acro/M mode when you’re a thrillseeker’s really risky huh? And that’s why I got the insurance cause I know myself too well...😎🤣
It definitely does!
Everyone crashes flying acro. Even pros with thousands of hours. Crashes happen. The dji fpv is way to fragile if your main goal is flying acro. Better buy a cheaper ready to fly fpv drone and practice plenty in simulators before.
@@mikehit yeah, the most expensive rtf fpv drone (that i know of) is a mr steele apex, wich costs abt 800 bucks, used to cost 900
No pain no gain!😂 This is why I’m not yet confident to fly on M mode although I get really tempted everytime. I’ll get there I promise!!!😆

Glad you're enjoying FPV, and you're not disheartened by a (expensive) crash. Your videos are helpful and interesting.
I'm new myself, took the other approach: I built a cheap FPV quad thanks to Joshua Bardwell's instructions, and I'm enjoying this hobby as much as you are, I think.
Now, sorry to spoil the fun (and I don't take any pleasure from it) but like some have said, this is not a sensible place to learn FPV acro (even less so with a quad so heavy).
It may be ok to cruise smoothly (or do acro with a super light quad like the Tinyhawk freestyle maybe), but the traffic nearby and the pedestrians walking in the park are Murphy's Law waiting to happen.
Add to this fact that you're also flying in non-ideal conditions (wind), so please review and reconsider your own risk assessment.
As I said, I'm new to this hobby but I've been a licensed pilot and skydiver some years ago and I had to learn to be patient, find the proper places and wait for the good conditions (which is hard to do when you're super-excited about a new activity).
But I look forward to seeing other interesting and cool videos from you! Subscribed :)
I hear you, makes sense Pascal
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Happy Flying 😊
Hopefully one day I'll have the balls to skydive..... LoL 🤣
I enjoyed your honest, accurate review. I've been building and flying FPV quadcopters for over 4 years. I've flown and learned from the Rotor Riot pilots. I've built over 20 drones and crashed a lot of them learning acro. I've lost a few in mountains, water, trees etc., etc. So, basically, this hobby can get expensive whether you started building or buy DJI FPV. I started with the Phantom 3 years ago. I bought the the Phantom 4 then got bored after I saw what people were doing flying FPV. I went into FPV head over heels and now I feel like I can confidently fly FPV in acro with my own custom built quads. I've spent a lot of money on this hobby. You said it, with risk, there is reward. "If you ain't crashin', you ain't flyin'". So, spend time in the simulator or spend your money. But you experienced how fun it is to fly FPV. You mentioned your desire to do spirals, flips and rolls. It's addictive. I admit it. I have a problem. Or is it therapy? I think the latter. ua-cam.com/video/J_tRcKrLiPE/v-deo.html
Just to mirror other comments I don’t know the rules in the US but in the UK you shouldn’t be that close to a main road or be flying over un involved people if that thing comes down and seriously injured someone then you’re in a lot of trouble. Best of luck and learn from it :)
Just a tip, be careful pinning the throttle so much, you WILL murder your batteries, and drop the throttle when you do flips, rolls etc.
what is the maximum low level to do a flip or roll?
Flying near a road and without a spotter, great example for the drone community!
🤡 stop hating dawg just rip drones and have fun
I hope you shook that mans hand in the background cleaning up others trash. I love seeing people that still care. Every time I fly my local park I bring a trash bag and walk the park after and clean up. If every one would just do a little bit, like this man, the world would be a better place.
On day one of the release, I was regretting my investment in V1 DJI FPV gear, the three fpv drones I purchased but have yet to fly, and the flight simulator (LiftOff) that I've been practicing on. Everyone except you and Joshua B. Have been saying the DJI drone is a great way to transition from camera drones to FPV.
Thanks to you and Joshua for showing me that I made the correct decision!
You can learn acro with tiny whoops and cinewhoops which handle crashes well. All parts are available also. I just dont think a fragile quad needs acro mode. Those that fly acro crash because they are trying new things. Its not so bad when you have spare parts and can fix it unlike the dji fpv quad. To me its just a mavic with short flights and less quality video.
It isn't, I've been flying mavics for years, and there's no Acro mode on mavics, there's no way a mavic is going 90 miles an hour!
But it's definitely fragile like a mavic 😂
Happy Flying 😀
Please don't forget to subscribe
@@xavier_arthur I think what he means is because its so fragile its pointless flying acro so in that case its essentially just a mavic with worse flight time and camera.
I too always start recording from take off. I do so because you never know what you might capture that can be used for something. If not, the "delete" button is just 1 keystroke away!!
After watching your video, I suddenly understand and COMPLETELY agree with the FAA licensing plan.
Me too
Happy Flying 😎
Thanks for sharing
I was thinking the same thing.
I broke an arm today on a quad I built. It was a $9.00 part and 15 minutes to fix it in the field, then I flew the rest of my packs. I might pick up the DJI FPV drone for like a long range cruiser.
$9 for one arm.. not bad..
When you pilot FPV you can’t bang the sticks around like you do if you were flying a mavic
Neither platforms are designed for banging the sticks around, if you want smooth cinematic usable footage with a mavic everything has to be precision and calculated as well, even pinching.
Most people take a few videos with mavics and think that's it but just like fpv flying can get really deep and precise, so can Filming with mavics.
I can appreciate both worlds as different and as similar as they are.
I hope this helps Frank.

so satisfying to watch :) everyone who bought dji fpv drone thinks they are pro...
They dont know about fpv world and what feet's real pros achieve... Realy guy skills in two days seems regular in fpv world to me...
I think your biggest issue when flying low is the delay 28ms you may start your flip and after you adjust it’s too late. But great video!! Can’t wait to get mine next week!!
I do not know you nor your channel...this is the first video I’ve stumbled upon...but I have to say a park alongside a highway, without a spotter, flying from inside your car without VLOS is not in my opinion where / how one should be learning FPV manual mode on the DJI FPV. Even just the alongside a highway...like, wow...the havoc you’d create had you lost it a bit higher and the wind took it into traffic. SMDH

@ryanrrocksize which ones are real fpv drones?
@@CWsolomerx the advanced side of the fpv hobby that use carbon fiber frames and much more robust ESCs and motor combinations.
Where do I start? I'm getting good at the liftoff sim. Need some direction though I have no idea where to start lol
@@CWsolomerx well, best place to start would be to get a whoop-style drone with a decent radio to get started with to practice the absolute basics such as acro controls and throttle management .
A good place to start would be a whoop such as a Mobula7 , or even Toothpick drones such as Happymodel Larva X , both good beginner drones to start with and cheap to maintain .
A good starting point for radios would be the Jumper T-Lite or the Radiomaster TX12.
Just a thought ... but are you compromising signal strength from the controller by using it inside the car?
Yes!
But it's not anything noticeable because I'm flying within line of sight, if you're flying long range, you should definitely come out of the car C C, if that's your name, I doubt it.

Totally unacceptable where your flying especially as a newbe... That's why the FAA & CAA have introduced such stringent rules and Laws regarding what and where you can fly.
Thank you for setting the responsible flyers back another few steps in trying to enjoying our hobby... you f**cking idiot.
I'd say every dji fpv drone sold will get crashed within 3 months. It's human nature to try new things - hitting smaller and smaller gaps, lower level flips. I'd suggest getting a DJI air unit (either DJI or Caddx Vista) based drone, but one that is set up for a standard RC transmitter - TBS crossfire perhaps, a cheap RC controller with a crossfire module and you can still use the DJI goggles. The carbon fibre drone will be a lot tougher and cheaper to replace. Another option - the one I went for is to get an analogue receiver and attach that to the goggles analogue in. Then you can use any analogue drone with appropriate transmitter - like the jumper RC T-lite. You can use any compatible drone with that, from $80 tinywhoops to 5" racers / freestyle drones. Put the drone into angle mode or the more like acro 'horizon' mode to ease into fpv. you will crash a lot, but the crashes are cheap.
I hear you, like I mentioned in the video, this is my next route, DJI fpv will be used mostly for cinematic long range above the tree line flying mostly.
And thanks for sharing Fleab 😊
Happy Flying & Please Subscribe for more if you haven't already, thanks again 🙂
Throttle control and yawthority and the machine will do what it’s told. It has the power and sure it heavy, and that doesn’t help, but... pick one tree and blip over it. Punch out full throttle and see how fast you can escape certain doom. Best of luck on this journey. Expensive place to start.
Bad shebang!! ⚠️😁
Good tips and advice, hopefully you've saved a few other owners going through the same experience! 😎👍
Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Would you recommend DRL or liftoff for the simulator?

Not really.
Actualy he fly like a complete noob, starting from unsafe and law breaking place where he fly... Put a lot of ppl in danger, if someone would snitch him and show police this video, he is trouble...
Second the flying it self, nothing risky, for two days training its pretty mutch regular in fpv world, after two days i used to fly way faster and riskier, but i crash my drone and drown in water many times, ofc its analog carbon fiber based sport drone so its just normal to crash those multiple times a day, pick it up and fly again... most of those drones made with beginners in mind, mine cost 80 euros and fly 116mph with s4 battery...after many crashes it still fly and ask no repair.
Think it’s just a matter of time with this platform... one of the reasons why I haven’t taken the plunge. You can learn acro, betaflight etc etc. it’s just time consuming. If you commit, you can learn anything you want to learn...but ya just gotta want too...Thanks for sharing!

How long are you getting out of your batteries?
I swear I’m only getting about 5 minutes of flight.
I took off for a flight yesterday, and was at 97% at take off.
I got just about the 5 minute mark when the low battery RTH kicks in. Then as it’s rising, I cancel rtf to come home, but it won’t go forwards or backwards, only turn on its yaw, or go up and down.
I started getting worried as it was saying critically low battery, aircraft landing, as I was over water!
But then it started responding again and I came and landed just in time.
But yeah about 5 minutes flight time.
That’s 5 mins as high speed in sports mode, but swear I should be getting a bit longer than that… no?
& do u have any idea why the forward or backward stick input was not responsive after the ‘oh shit’ button went off for an automatic low battery rth?

You are breaking several FAA rules if you are in the U.S. For one, you should not be inside of your car flying your FPV drone as it obstructs your view from certain angles. Second, if you are flying in FPV mode, you are supposed to have a spotter with you if you are wearing the goggles.
I have a spotter with me and I can see all angles pertaining to my flight path, providing I take my goggles off.

LOL I almost bit the dust by inches a few days ago doing the same thing, power loop. I'm not sure how this drone fits in my collection as I have over 35 FPV drones and all of DJI's stuff and EVO2. I think I need to fly it like a Mavic with lite acro. But I know I'm gonna crash it because it's under powered and can't get you out of situation like my other 5"s can plus when you crash a real FPV drone 90% of the time you just replace a prop or two. Good luck DroneXfactor but it's a nice drone "IF" you fly it for what it is
That is my plan from now on like I mentioned in the end of the video, leaning more towards cinematic long range lite Acro.
I'm definitely going with something carbon fiber for hitting the tight gaps MasterP.

I wonder how much it costs to send it in for repair without DJI Refresh. What's the point of buying the insurance if its going to cost half the price of the drone to get it fixed regardless? I thought their insurance meant one free replacement drone if anything happened.
How many battery’s do you take with you ? I got mine today .. amazing video quality .
I take 4 batteries with me Richard

Have you been able to get the goggles from the FPV to work with the Mavic Air 2?
It doesn't work with MA2!🙁
@@xavier_arthur That sucks!
I'm a "Cruiser" I cut my teeth on the P4, I'm grabbing this baby the Range and Speed to target on a recon mission. I appreciate the acrobats, but not needed.
How do you get the propellers out of the cameras perspective ?
Can you imagine if land in VanWyck epxressway? Damn poop DJI FPV drone :(
LoL 😂

Low flying through gaps and around obstacles is where the real fun is when flying FPV.
You WONT get good at that kind of flying with out crashing a lot.
A good carbon framed FPV drone probably would have suffered no damage from the crash that destroyed your DJI FPV. If you did break it, you could easily repair it yourself.
I hear you Brian, long range high speed cruising is also fun for me as well, I also do want to hit gaps, that's why I've ordered a complete setup from road riot with the carbon fiber frame, so I will have the best of both worlds experience, at least that's the plan.

@@xavier_arthur FPV is addictive. You're off to a good start, and a "real" FPV drone is going to be just what you need to improve faster. I'm not knocking the DJI. Hey, it set the hook in you for flying acro. It's just kinda too bad that a lot of people are learning the hard way that you need something that's going to be OK to crash.
I received mine last Friday. And I want to do the same as you. Fast flying with dives and fast flying cinematic captures. I'm a cinematic flyer. But this drone looks awesome for people like us who don't have time to learn to build fpv drones.
Wow, been trying to learn FPV for 4 months now. Still just a little hesitant on the $1300 which, will become ~$1800 as demonstrated.
I'm planing on dji goggles and air unit. Tbs tango 2 controller. Then my choice of drones that are more versatile, cheaper, hard wearing and fixable👍
hope you could share the crash video, keep up the good job
What's your microphone setup? Love the channel! Regards from Brazil!
Keep doing what you do I love this material, disregard the drone police
If DJI gets a couple camera drone guys into Fpv I’d say it’s a big win
Russell Wilson excellent video ! I need more time with the simulator i cant afford to crash
Hey boss, you know you can replace the arms yourself right? Each arm is around $25 a piece. It’s a pain in the ass, but it beats paying $400+ bucks just for a broken arm. There are a few different tutorials here on UA-cam.
Also I saw a guy fiberglass around the arms which is what I’ll probably end up doing when the time comes. The arms will be hella strong then.i
So what is actually happened bro? you forgot to push the throttle stick after doing low flips?
Good insights. Thanks. The more videos I watch on this drone the more I believe I'll never buy one. I'm unlikely to ever get fully into fpv but perhaps a small whoop setup would be fun for a while. Australian rules are super restrictive for fpv.
I agree that this drone will be good for more cinematic stuff with pilots maybe setting up for single, high speed runs on a preplanned shot which they may have choreographed and rehearsed a few times in slower modes.
I'd hate to see this thing hit anyone at full tilt. It is a beast.
It's definitely a beast!
You definitely need to know what's for you.
Just because it has the name DJI on it, some people believe it's for everyone.

Thanks for sharing this DJI experience. I am thinking about getting this drone and I am beginning to see that this drone is worth having albeit the risk of crashing seems higher and likely at some point. I really hate crashing! DXF, can you tell me if it is okay now to fly with goggles (as you have here) without the need of a spotter or another person with you? Does it apply to us regular "cheaper" google drone flyers as well? Thanks for responding and your knowledge of drones!
You definitely need a spotter, I usually take my wife or I fly with other pilots and we take turns spotting and flying here in the US.

It happen to me yesterday no care fresh im going to have to repair on my own
This is exactly what ive been saying why an fpv drone shouldn't be made like this. You have to be able to fix shit WHEN it breaks and not IF.
Let’s us know how long it takes to get fixed. Great video! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
1.5 week!👀
@@xavier_arthur and what is the price to fix?
@@xavier_arthur how much
From many vids on UA-cam you can fix the arms
Flew my fpv into lake Tahoe on my 2nd flight.
You and Ken are my favorite drone buddies
I think this is why the faa sees fpv pilot as dangerous.
That's not true
FAA has no problems with FPV pilots.
FAA wants no collision with manned and unmanned aircrafts, plus they want to integrate commercial drone operations with consumer drone operations safety.
Please keep abreast with the FAA news.

Sorry brotha thought this might of been your first quad when i heard you say if it wasn't for DJI i wouldn't be flying. 😉
Stay safe and keep up the great work and you now have another subscriber, that's the least i can do. 🤣✊🏾💪🏾👍🏾👊🏾🙏🏾

I appreciate it

The bad "shabang" - LOL!! Keep practicing and I guarantee you'll have more fun on a "bang up" drone! All the fun (and more) without the "shabang" to the pocketbook! 😂 Keep flying!
Ooooo your flying in flushing right that’s where all the fpv dudes go and hate when I bring my dji drone because signal interference between the 2 lol
You know what they say about FPV flying "it is not if you crash it's when you crash!"
Sorry about your drone. Can't wait to see your next video.
Does anyone know if this drone fly more like a helicopter or jet I'm just curious
This will help to explain how it flys:

How did you get another one so fast
I purchased two, because I figured I'd crash on the first flight...... 😂
@@xavier_arthur lol smart move
I'm really enjoying your videos. I have a question about the drone sound in the background. Does this drone have a mic on it? Did you add one to it or did you add the sound effect afterwards? If so the sound is in perfect synch with the drone's actions. Excellent video man.
You forgot to introduce us to your visual observer in that car with you lol
My thoughts exactly!
I was going to ask that question. Are the rules different in the US?
My wife doesn't want to be on camera.

That was fast! Haha Allgood tho man, tough break.
Glad to see you flying in the fpv world. You should look into a digital fpv drone like a iflight titan dc5. Battery’s are cheaper and cheaper to repair. You get the quality of dji camera and use your new goggles with it. More freestyle go pro footage.
